I love the food here! Its always good! Try the fried oysters, some of the best I’ve ever had!

The food was good and looks fancy but the waiting time sucks. It took way too long for the food to come out maybe they were short-handed but who knows. Waited an hour for my entrée

I should probably call this 1 star but going with 2 since we did actually eat our food here. Came in for dinner with our 4 year old. We spent over 2 hours here for what should have been a 45 minute meal. Food arrived cold, and so soooo poorly prepared we thought about sending it all back. Our waiter must’ve been on his first shift because why else wouldn’t he have brought us silver ware(had to get up to ask), ask to refill our beer or water, or even ask how our meal was. Steer clear!

If you are a martini aficionado than this place is a stop you have to make. They have a drink called the Filthy Pickle Martini and it’s to die for. I beg all my friends and family to go with me just so I can consume this drink. And while I have tried to master and copy this drink at home, I can’t make it quite as good as Daily Planet and no other restaurants come even close. And as I write this I have the urge to drive there immediately and order one… I have eaten at Daily Planet during dinner hours only a couple times. My favorite time to stop by is actually in the late hours between 10pm-2am. They have a wonderful ambiance of lighting and seating that feels cozy and relaxing. There are lots of windows and a garage door that they open up on warm nights. The late night menu is delicious. If you’re sick of chomping down on greasy pizza and street meat after a night at the bars than give this place a shot. I highly recommend the Cajun Mac and Cheese.

I’ve lived in or around Burlington for years, but somehow never made it in until today. We went for restaurant week so we had stuff that wasn’t normally on the menu, but everything we had was fantastic. In looking at their regular menu we didn’t think their prices were out of line with other restaurants in the area; in fact we thought it looked a little less expensive than some. We had to wait a while between courses, but we were not bothered by this as we had ordered a whole bottle of wine and this gave us plenty of time to drink it. As such we did not complain about the wait, but nevertheless they gave us a pretty generous comp on our food, which was again, delicious. We’ll probably be returning during regular, non-restaurant week times.

Usually I love this place and it’s really consistent. However I came here during restaurant week and was very disappointed in the service and food. Everything took much longer than usual(2.5 hours for 3 courses ordered all at the start) and the server did not acknowledge this or comp any part of the meal. I expected much better from them, especially during restaurant week.

Came here for dinner on our first night in Burlington and was not blown away. We started off with the cajun mac & cheese and duck confit poutine. The pasta was a very good sized portion, which could have been a meal. The duck confit pieces were tender and flavorful, but the fries were soggy and disappointing. Barely any cheese on there and the gravy wasn’t runny. Had the lamb lollipops for burger for entrees. Burger was like any other, nothing special. Lamb pops had a soggy type of crust. Service was slow. We waited for a long time to get our entrees that we weren’t even hungry anymore. Took just about the same amount of time to get our check. The table next to us came in ten minutes after and they received and finished their entrees before us. BF was seriously considering to walk up and leave. High expectations, but left with a large bill and terrible experience.

Everything we had was good to excellent here. With the 3.5 Unilocal rating we were a little tentative, but ended up exceeding our expectations entirely. The place had a nice relaxed vibe. Brussel sprouts and beet appetizers were excellent and plated nicely. All of our entrees were good. Vegetable ratatouille was very flavorful. Fish tacos were fresh and crisp. The only slight issue was duck frisée salad had very little duck, so seemed over-priced. I’d go back definitely.

I don’t usually like to complain, but I was really disappointed by my meal at Daily Planet tonight. First off, I ordered a citizen cider unified press(nothing fancy) for $ 6.50. I was appalled when a small 10 oz glass came out instead of a pint. The $ 12 chicken burger was dry and came with plain ketchup. My husband ordered $ 12 tuna«tacos» which turned out to be three small wontons with a bite of tuna in each. He left hungry. This was not our first bad meal at Daily Planet, but it will be our last. We won’t be returning.

NE Lobster Chowder was very filling with a substantial amount of lobster. The fried oysters, green eggs and ham was SP!

Fun… We stopped for Taco Tuesday, and though the tacos were definitely Americanized and small, they were only $ 2! I had 3, plus a little bitosalsa for another $ 1. Big shot of Tequila and a bottle of Tecate for another $ 4. Our waitress was very pleasant and seemed to enjoy her job. I love the ambiance in the restaurant, though the seats at the table and the bar aren’t very comfortable. The menu looks even better than last time, though a few of the entrees that I saw coming out of the kitchen looked fairly small, and the prices are right up there. My sense is this restaurant is a little stuck between two worlds. The food is not up to the standard the ambiance inspires, and despite the ambiance, the place could be more comfortable and the food prices more sustainable to attract a regular crowd.

After buying a local or deal for half off, we came here before a Monday show at the Flynn. Monday happens to be half price burger night so we got the chickpea burgers and paid a little extra to get the fancy rosemary fries. We settled in with some cocktails and waited for our food. Honestly, the burgers were NOT worth the $ 6 we spent on them(even at half off). They were dry and needed a lot of pizzaz. All in all it was fine, but when the bill came we were informed that we couldn’t use our localvore deal because it was half price burger night(didn’t say that on the terms and conditions). The couple sitting next to us had gotten there before us and hadn’t even gotten their food when we were done. They waited an hour and left before the food arrived to make the show as well. The drinks were good but I wouldn’t go back for the food.

Always a great bet if you have friends in town and you want to take them out to a nice dinner with a creative(but not too out-there) menu, nice atmosphere, and a price that won’t break the bank. Upscale without being pretentious. We go there a lot for a quiet drink — it’s cozy and their cocktails are superb(well balanced, fairly priced and made from alcoholic ingredients, not one shot of vodka and a buncha fruit juice for 12 dollars). Most times we’ve been, the food and service have been fairly consistent.

I’m non-committal after eating here twice. The food was fine, but not great, and I wouldn’t order the dishes I had again, given the price. The interior was nice and not too loud. The ahi tuna was fairly standard, not bad, but bland. The poutine was fine, but I found the mushroom gravy overly sweet. Drinks were on the pricier side, and I didn’t like the thyme lemonade cocktail, as the thyme was overwhelming.

I decided to give this place a second shot after not being impressed the first time, but nothing has changed. The service was fine, but the food is just not great. I had the ahi tuna tacos, and while the filling was good, the actual taco shells were so overly crunchy that I ended up just eating the filling. The portions are also pretty small for the price. I had heard that the cocktails were really good here but they were apparantly changing over the drink menu from summer to fall when we came(it was already the beginning of November) and pointed to about half of the cocktails on the menu, telling us that they were not available. With as many good restaurants as Burlington has, I probably will not waste my time with this place again.

I’m surprised by the low-ish star rating– we thought this place was great! Got the cheese board, scallops and a side of beets. All the food was delicious with a nice presentation. Service was fantastic, and they even had good live music. Great beer selection and reasonably priced for the area.

I really wanted to like this place, but ended up feeling underwhelmed. I was looking for a place that was farm to table, and the website seemed to represent this place as that. We had an Open Table reservation, and that we probably didn’t need a reservation. We had the BLT salad and the roasted garlic and truffle polenta fries. While both were okay, I felt the greens in the salad were a little old looking. I wasn’t crazy about the sauces served with the polenta fries. I had a small plate of the local flat iron steak. The potatoes and the steak tasted okay, but I was not crazy about the kale purée. It reminded me of soylent green or green slime. My guy got the scallops and was pleased with his. I think really, this place deserves 2.5 or 2.75 stars. It was decent, but not fantastic for $ 100 meal. Our server/service was fine.

Recently found out about this place, despite have driven by it many times. I came to Daily after I friend suggested we come for Tijuana Tuesdays. The tacos were a great size, two or three was a good portion and they were only $ 2 each. The food and service was very good! I was surprised not a lot more people were in there at 6pm. This place is great for the price and they often have specials on other days of the week.

Let’s start: we were sat down immediately but from the time we ordered to the time we were served it took 45 minutes. Reason given, «we were busier than normal.» Oh. Ok. With that being said… Time to get new management. Oh. Did I mention that they ran out of bread. Who runs out of bread. My large order of flat iron steak was 6 pieces of medallions with 4 of the smallest fingerling potatoes. That’s it. I’ve been to steakhouses and paid less than what was presented to me. Oh, don’t get me started on the pompous«manager» who thinks that saying you’re welcome or I’m sorry doesn’t apply to her. At least she took off 50% from the bill. God bless her. Lesson learned! Last time going.

I had dinner here with some friends on a Sunday. While waiting for friends to show up. I hung out at the bar. The bar offers an extensive list of beers, so you won’t be disappointed at all. The head chef had just made some pre super bowl snacks, and the bartender was kind enough to share some with us. Once our friends showed up. We relocated to the green house where it was decked out in plants, and clear windows. That was my first time experience eating at a restaurant eating in a green house. Nonetheless, it was a good new experience. When it came time to ordering food, i got myself a grilled chicken sandwich. The wait was kinda long, and it wasn’t too busy that night either so it was kinda disappointing. However, the sandwich was amazing! I would definitely recommend giving this restaurant try out when you are in the area.
