Eyes of the World

I have been a patient with Eyecare of Vermont for a long time. I always felt like an object being moved from one chair to the next by the staff but accepted that that was something I had to put up with. I would smile be friendly, what I received in return was luke-​warm polite.
Then one day I decided to try this little shop on Battery Street. They are busy, but they had a way of joking and making me feel like they are glad to have me there. I LOVE my glasses and the lens they recommended. I recommend this shop without reservation.

I have been getting my glasses from these guys for 11 years! I have purchased over 6 pair. They are amazing!!! They pay attention to every detail to make sure that your glasses fit and don’t stop till they get it right. My eyes are quirky and many times it takes a few tries before the lenses are correct. They have always been spot on the first time. Recently I purchased a pair of glasses from another place — one they had recommended– what a mistake. I love the style but everything else was a disaster. I will never go anywhere else again!

Lots of frames to choose from, a wide variety of styles and if you are a horrible person looking to pass yourself off as «unique,» they have something for you.

The staff is always helpful and friendly, and they have gone above and beyond for me many times over the years I’ve been going there. Dora (the optometrist) is fantastic, professional, and great about listening to my concerns and working with me whenever I’ve had questions or issues. I’ve always felt my vision was in good hands. Also the one time I’ve purchased frames from them, they were really helpful in finding a pair that worked well on me, taking plenty of time and making sure I was happy. All around great experience

Some days, the doctor doesn’t listen and it behooves the patient to follow their gut. Other days, the doctor really knows what she’s talking about and you’re seeking professional advice and you should listen. Today? The latter.
Having found Eyes of the World to have good Unilocal reviews, I decided to check them out to get my very old glasses script updated. After the exam, I told the optometrist that I really like things super clear, despite her reluctance to bump me up by so much in each eye. She did, though, against her better judgment, and I went home with my crystal clear new script. A week and a half later now, I still haven’t adjusted to the new script and I’m getting headaches. I go back in, totally ready to shell out for another set of lenses (it was my own dang fault that I overrode medical advice) and the optometrist refused to let me pay for the replacement lenses. Cost of doing business, she says, and wouldn’t let me pay for the replacements despite repeated insistence.
In the immediate term, they earned a big bag of thank-​you cookies from a local bakery. In the long term, they won the total loyalty of an appreciative customer. I’m deeply impressed by their customer care, their knowledge of vision care, and their unfailing friendliness. I wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend them to anyone needing new lenses, new frames, and/​or eye exams.

This is the best place to go for eye exams and glasses! I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They have repaired my glasses twice at no charge (that I bought there years ago.) They have helped me pick out a pair of glasses that I love. I definitely recommended Eye’s of the World!

Eyes of the World has an amazing selection of frames and by far the best customer service around. I live in California and save my eyeglass fixes and needs for trips to Vermont since this shop is so great. On my most recent visit they swapped out lenses on a pair of vintage frames and gave them new life. They look perfect and it didn’t break the bank.

I was impressed by the selection and the staff. Elizabeth helped me pick out frames that really complimented me and I’ve already gotten nice compliments on how stylish my new glasses are! Another great thing was that the glasses were ready to be picked up a whole day earlier then they had estimated. I would definitely recommend Eyes of the World!
