Visited in mid October 2014. We really like a true local experience and this was it. Enjoyed the tasting, very informative, quaint and homey, not pretentious. Named after the husband Glen and the wife Marie, the owner, Glen was packing beautiful green beans at a table outside. We bought wonderful home grown vegetables and good wine.

Will make you feel like you are going to a friends house and do some wine drinking in their garage — The wines were good(only 4 for the $ 5 tasting) — but the overall location has a lot to be desired. Only one old picnic table outside if you want to drink a glass of wine — location is very residential, would not put high on my list of Haw River Wineries.

Very disappointing. The young man hosting the fasting was very pleasant but the owners were unfriendly. We were upset that they left their long-haired dog out in the yard on such a hot day– he seemed to be suffering. The wine was extremely sweet. We won’t be back, Mostly Because of their treatment of the animals

I have to agree with Jay, a very nice surprise indeed! We came to know of this vineyard and winery through either groupon or living social I cant remember which but I am thankful for bringing this to my attention. I have had a few wines from North Carolina, and this by far is the best I have had. The owners are friendly and personable, so much in fact I wanted to sit down and share a bottle with them, on me of course! They produce 90% or more of their wine using grapes grown in their vineyard and take their time during the wine tastings and do mot make you feel rushed, no matter how busy they are.

A nice surprise! Very small, unassuming winery. Tasting room is pleasant, but small. Be prepared to wait if there are more than a couple of people ahead of you. Wines we tasted were surprisingly good! Much better than some of the larger wineries we have visited recently.

GlenMarie vineyard is a quaint family run vineyard out in the Burlington, NC countryside. Complete with roaming alpacas and a husband/wife team to tell you the story of how they decided to open a winery(«My husband got drunk one night and said we should start a winery»), it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area if not for anything than the small town charm. The tasting room is petite with two small wooden bars, from behind which staff members serve up the winery’s wares. The tastings(which include a souvenir glass) will run you either $ 5 for 6 wines(of your choice) or $ 8 for«all the wines available»(a number which I assume varies; there were 12 the day that I visited). The wines produced here were pretty decent overall, and interestingly not heavy in terms of muscadine(as are so many local wineries). For such sweet wine fans, do not fear as there was one muscadine and a scuppernong for your sipping delight! Personally, I was a fan of the chardonnay(as it was unoaked), the Dallas Red(which was a drier blend of three red wines), and the Sweet Marie(a sweeter and fruity blend of two red wines and a white wine). The gentleman who served us was informative, polite, and ready to answer any random question that we threw his way. One downside of the winery is that there seemingly is not a spot where you can sit down and enjoy a bottle of wine. I did notice a firepit outside with some chairs around it, but it was not exactly a picturesque spot of leisure and I was never given the impression that you could buy a bottle here to enjoy on site. Of note, you can only purchase the GlenMarie winery wines either at the vineyard or at the Burlington Farmer’s Market. Also of note, the tasting room is open year round from 12−6pm on Thursdays-Sundays. Another fun fact is that this winery is part of the Haw River Wine Trail( ). All in all, this is a spot worth checking out, especially if you want to be able to call yourself a Haw River Wine Trail aficionado!
