Great place to start or end your night — a true speakeasy, with good drinks, cool staff and a cozy vibe. During prime time, you’d better like confined spaces. It can be tough to move around and a bit panic-inducing when it’s at capacity. Outdoor patio is great in the summer. Red Square’s outdoor stage is next door, so it can get crowded/noisy on that block in general on Fri/Sat night. But hey — I’m the«let’s stay on the outskirts of the action, I’m an adult now» guy. If you’re looking for a hip place to drink, sweat & dance close to people, weekends at Half Lounge are for you.

Very poor management, unprofessional. Need staff training as well as a class on how to treat customers as well address safety risks.

Love this lively spot on Church Street. Sit outside in the summer. Basement is a great hidden spot to catch up over a drink.

I love coming to Half Lounge either to start my night, pop in for a drink and dance or to spend the whole evening. Half staff is friendly and knows how to make a great cocktail with all the standard favorites and some really unique drinks you can’t get anywhere else. The Tomolive Martini is off the charts great if you like a dirty. The space is small and feels intimate, a great place to meet friends for something different than the other bars in the area. You can count on a great DJ weekend nights for some dancing. In the summer, the patio is an amazing spot to sip and watch the characters on Church Street.

Cool place. Good bartenders. Waitresses. Sexist and rude. Sarah needs to be more accommodating and learn some skills regarding serving people. She was rude. And complained about everybody all night. Needs some customer training. Q

Let’s start this review by saying I normally love half Lounge. They have a reputation for pouring strong drinks and throwing a great party. Unfortunately last time I went there the blonde 6 foot bartender was working. I also want to say I would not write this without validation. He poured me a rum and coke at about a 2.5 count… It was basically coke, and I know the count. I brought it back and tried to be polite; said it must have been the tap after 5 of my friends who worked as bartenders agreed with how diluted the drink was. He told me that he didn’t agree and tasted«plenty» of rum. Directly after that my friend ordered a dark & stormy and was given a gin and tonic… The list goes on about this guy. Don’t go to half Lounge when this guy is the bartender. Plus he came out and insulted me after I left. Real professional

A must stop on a night out for us. Either just for a shot if it’s slow, or if the energy is right we could be there all night! Usually great music on weekend nights, and the downstairs lounge is awesome, great for if you need a minute to sit and collect yourself before continuing drinking. Staff is pretty cool, bartender was awesome but the shorter door guy was a total creep, he kept grabbing my friend and preventing her from leaving with a group therefor making her get separated from the group which may have been his goal? so that was supper weird. But despite that creep we will obviously be back next time we feel the need for a wild night!

Half’s sexy. Go here if you wanna dance and have a few decent drinks late-night. DJs are always bomb. Besides, the staff is cool. That’s always a bonus. If you need to relax, the basement’s open. Comfy booths. Drinks come to you by waitress. Life is good away from the fray.

OHHH! First Unilocal in Burlington, VT for me and what else could it be?! Half lounge, tucked in between Red Square and Red Onion is the most underrated night spot in the city. Bar in the back upstairs, seating downstairs past the bar, on the dance floor the moment you roll in. Good tunes if you’re into electronic of any kind; really laid back atmosphere and always a fun time. Large patio area outside in the summer months, but inside is where it’s at. Bartenders are quick, courteous and make some good drinks. PBR always on special, since, you know, Burlington. Door staff also very friendly. Half lounge is where it’s at for a guaranteed good time without the lines, covers, and general mediocrity of night spots close by. You can feel wiser and cooler walking by the crowds waiting to pay to drink and head to Half(you’ll also feel this way because you probably are).

The Half mixes the best filthy, dirty martini I’ve ever had in my life. Pricing is a little high for Burlington, but if you’re passing through town and are from a more urban area, I’m sure you will find the pricing great for what you get. Every Wednesday martinis are half priced so you can’t go wrong for a mid week special! The space is tiny, but has a cozy, sexy atmosphere. Make sure you check out the lounge area in the basement, a lot of people don’t know it exists!

Best club in Burlington. You don’t have much to choose from and this is a special place for those who enjoy edm. It’s a narrow club that occupies half of a typical space thus the name, and people who are there are there to enjoy the chill, dark vibe and just dance. The bathrooms are downstairs and there’s another bar area, but I don’t spend time there and can’t recall anything about it, except that it’s dark.

Stopped by for a quick drink while waiting for a friend to get ready, One Half Lounge or as the locals call it Half-Lounge is just that. Basically it’s the size of a pretty small basement or bedroom in the suburbs turned into a bar. It has a tiki bar vibe to it mixed in with the Vermont Hipster Crowd(Tiki-Ster)? They do attract some pretty talented DJ’s because the night i stopped by the two DJ’s that played were pretty phenomenal, I just wish there was more space to dance and move around because i definitely could have boogied on the dance floor in this place. Honestly the only downfall is the small size of this place

Cozy little Vermont joint with good love music, friendly bartender and solid drinks. Very gay and straight friendly. Also as a lounge it has more of a classy feel than some of the other bars around.

What and what?! This place is amazing. We went last night and the music jam was out of this world. I do not know what they are drinking up here in Vermont but it must be in the water ;) We live in Brooklyn, New York and was so pleasantly surprised at the musicianship from most of the individuals that played. Additionally, the cocktails are so good! I had a cucumber gin martini that was homestead, muddled, and yummy. This place is sexy too. A must for anyone. Loved it.

Wandering Church Street, went in here for a cocktail since there were some pretty good accoustic musicians in the window One of us had a Manhattan that was good, but I had a horrible margarita. The menu says, lime and no mix, but I asusmed that would be fresh lime. It tasted like Rose’s lime juice. I would probably just stick to a beer next time. The place is really small, but when yougo downstairs, there is another room that is even smaller, but kind of cozy if you had a little group and if it wasn’t too crowded. We did stop by towards the end of the night and the tables and chairs were moved and a dj was playing. It was a different vibe, younger crowd, but no one was dancing.

Dance clubs are not always my thing, but the Half Lounge is probably my favorite one in Burlington. The dance music here, usually house, is always top-notch– props to the DJs! There is a small dance floor which can feel cramped, but it’s much less intimidating than bigger spaces like Metronome or Red Square. If you’re seeking something quieter(maybe for an intimate cuddle sesh?), head downstairs where there are some cozy wooden booths. The drinks are good – definitely a couple bucks pricier than some other places, but you get what you pay for. There are tons of specialty mixed drinks on the menu in addition to some sandwiches and desserts(not sure how late you can order those).

My girlfriend & I drove from NH to VT in a snowstorm Friday night, as we were visiting her brother who lives in Burlington. Once we arrived we were ready for a few stiff drinks after enduring a white knuckle ride in the snow. The vibe was relaxed and the atmosphere was sexy. The space was tight and there was a good mix of friendly and interesting people. The music was electronic which is right up my ally. I drank a few of the spiced mojitos which were delicious. This place is very similar to a martini bar in Portsmouth, NH called the Red Door. This was a great introduction to Burlington for me and had all of the essentials for a great lounge. Good drinks, music and an eclectic mix of people. If I ever go back to Burlington, I will be sure to hit this place up again! PS The locals let me on the«dance floor» and I was high fived after which was pretty awesome. TTFN.

A speakeasy, with a decent DJ spinning and cheap PBRs. Man, we stayed there for a long time and we got long-gone. Intimate setting that ensures you don’t have to shout over the music and at the girl you’re trying to sleep with that night. Stay classy, Burlington, at One-Half-Lounge!

This place is decent. especially outside when its warm because you can people watch. They make my favorite drink, caipirinha, a Brazilian drink. That is why I gave it four stars. You want to learn how to make this amazing drink? I bet you do!!! See the following video: or watch a hot woman make one: Now you can be just like me!
