I recently visited Jivana for a prenatal massage — and let me say, the total bliss of getting to lay on my stomach(safely with tricked out maternity pillows) was totally priceless. My experience at Jivana was fantastic — a total haven just one flight of stairs up from the bustle(well, Vermont bustle) of Church street — this place delivered just what I needed at 6 months pregnant. The space is quiet, serene and lovely. Check in was simple and I was quickly whisked into a treatment room for my massage. This was my first prenatal massage so I have no real basis for comparison but I can say that it was relaxing, she focused attention on my trouble areas(mostly lower back) effectively while also making sure to check in frequently about pressure and positioning. And seriously– getting to use the specialty pillows made for a much deeper(read: better) massage. Bonus points: there on an extra cold October day, my husband got to veg out in the lovely waiting room for an hour while I had my treatment, leaving him almost as zen-ed out as me.

I had an absolutely wonderful massage. The spa itself is an oasis of calm in the middle of Church Street. Highly recommend Jivana.

Nice hidden gem on church st… hard to find but its right next to a busy restaurant and its just a small doorway. My wife and I each got a massage and it was very nice! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!

I came in absolutely exhausted after a week of(stupidly) walking in heels from basically 7am to 10pm every day. I dropped off my bag and was basically Fanning myself from more walking. I told the receptionist this and she said«I know exactly what you need» and jivana delivered. Leila is a godsend. She is easily one of the best, kindest, most open people I’ve met in Burlington — or ever! I needed a place to store my suitcase(which I left at the FREE bike storage at the farmers market– also phenomenal friendly accommodating people) and she even walked with me back down(a quicker back way!) to the farmers market to grab my suitcase. She got me nice and settled in a relaxation room with mint tea and water. Then I relaxed until my appointment for a good hour. She set me up with the sauna and shower. My masseuse was AMAZING. I did an hour reflexology on my legs and feet. She started off with smooth firm stokes and worked her way up and really dug in where I desperately needed it. I felt SO much better when she was done and completely conked out and was snoozing by the end. Unfort I wasnt 100 percent bc I will need seveeeral more hours of work on me and she was definitely ready to call it a day lol.

What a fabulous little escape! Tucked away in a second level off of Church Street, Jivana is by far my favorite place to relax. They offer a variety of packages and are always having a promotion/treatment of the month going on. I’ve had Thai massage before but today’s experience included a mud wrap as well as a Swedish massage. This was the best spa/massage experience I’ve ever had! Laura Lynn, the masseuse, was a delight to chat with, made me feel relaxed and comfortable, and was a true professional. I went with the Quintessence Wrap — dry brush, followed by the mud wrap consisting of 5 different types of mud, then added on a massage at the end. My favorite pat was the float, part of the mud wrap– where you were buoyed up in warm water(still dry, wrapped in the insulating mud wrapping — I’m not sure what the proper terminology is here) while the mud masque did its detoxifying. What a blissful and relaxing experience! Definitely ask for the lavender eye pillow for a totally immersing experience. Highly recommend as a treat to yourself, or as a gift! They even have wedding packages :)

My husband and I booked massages. I enjoyed a prenatal massage with Rachel and he enjoyed his. Quiet, relaxing vibe, rooms pretty small. Poor customer service provided by owner. Husband had given me a gift certificate for my birthday which we planned to use to pay for our massages. Owner was oddly abrasive and rudely conveyed that gift certificates were non-transferable from person to person. She explained she was«making an exception» for us to pay for both treatments with the gc. She stated my husband would have to give the gc to «both of us» in the future. Total buzzkill. Won’t be returning. Beware of the owner, major chip on her shoulder.

I book a massage here every time I visit Burlington, since probably 2007. I’ve never had concerns or complaints, nor have any of the guests I’ve brought with me over the years. This is a solid day spa with some unique offerings. The atmosphere is calm, relaxing and very ‘Vermont’. The staff have always been personable and professional, though some therapists are
