We have been dining at Kira since it opened about 2 yrs ago. Sushi, sashimi and rolls are good. Unfortunately as it got more popular and busy, the service took a nose dive. It took 50 min before we got our main course and they made a(slight) mistake. We also noticed other customers that got to the restaurant after us got their food before we did. The service is faster if you order Chinese or from the kitchen. We think today will be our last trip there.

One star and that’s for the waitress only because she was a sweet girl. We sat down and things started out good. Crab rangoons were decent, wonton soup was good. We ordered the sushi for two which was listed right under the special rolls section and it led you to believe it would be 18 pieces of various rolls(chef’s choice). We waited literally an hour for our food to come out and the restaurant was essentially empty. Apparently they had a lot of to go orders? The food came out and it was not what we expected. There was one sushi roll– Alaskan roll of 6 pieces and the rest was fish over rice. I was livid. If that is what the sushi for two was they should explicitly indicate it in the description instead of having it listed under the special rolls section leading you to believe you were getting rolls. So disappointing. The bill came out and nothing was taken off for the hour long wait. That was the last straw. I asked for a manager and she defended the situation instead of agreeing it was ridiculous how long it took. I also gave her feedback on the misleading menu. Only after complaining did she take 15% off which was really nothing considering we had two rounds of drinks. So essentially we got 1 glass of wine for free. Worst way to operate a business. I am honestly so disappointed. And to top it off neither of us were even full after spending $ 60 on dinner. Never going back again.

Stopped In for lunch today. Restaurant was clean and service was prompt. We were happy to see a lunch menu with reasonable prices. I ordered spicy tuna rolls and a tuna/avocado roll. There was zero spice to the spicy tuna roll and it was terribly dry. You could pick tempura chunks out of the roll which was odd. Typically spicy tuna rolls have some spicy mayo mixed in or on top or even red pepper mixed in the tuna. This was dry and flavorless. Husband ordered curry chicken and he said it was just ok. The biggest issue I had is that they do not bring your food out together. My husbands food sat for almost five minutes before they brought out my sushi. Meanwhile tables around us that ordered sushi after us were served theirs. When I questioned the waitress she informed me that it was not possible to get kitchen items and sushi near the same time since they are prepared in different places. So apparently the two chefs are unable to communicate and coordinate the timing. Aside from the sushi being subpar but obviously the best option for the area, the fact that they have zero regard for customers actually eating their meal together means we will never be back nor will we recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic! We have been here twice for take-out. Great value for lunch, food is delicious. Second time we ordered dinner to go and were very pleased with the quality of food and portions again. I would highly recommend this place! The interior of the restaurant also looks nice and clean, though we have never dined in.

I agree with the other reviewer’s comments, who also gave this one star. I happened to be in that general area and I used Unilocal.I went to this place, based on all the positive reviews. I must say, it was a disappointment. I could probably go with 2 stars — for the taste of food. We were a party of five. We ordered some crab rangoons — I didn’t eat any buy my companions gave it 3.5 stars. I had hot and sour soup — 2 star — typical hot and sour soup. They had wonton soup — 1 star — just chicken broth water with wontons in it! Pad thai was not too bad but subsequently, I felt it to be too heavy and made me uncomfortable — probable reason — they use the oil from deep fryers to cook their food. Same with their chicken fried rice. Old/Used oil taste. Typically, most low and medium end chinese restaurants store oil in a large container, next to the wok. They keep re-using the same oil for deep frying and also to finish frying. This oil gives a stale smell to the entire restaurant and also to the dishes made with it. This is not unique to just Kira’s. most chinese restaurants do the same thing. Typically, Japanese restaurants do not do that — they use fresh oil(local examples Kawa and Kyoto). We tried their salt and pepper shrimp. Unusually so, it was just like tempura shrimp! Kira’s food was made with«old oil». Made me uncomfortable, all day long. It is possible that their Sushi would be quite good but I would never go to Kira to find out. The place is kind of low end. and I would not have gone there, but for the word«fusion» in their name. I didn’t see any fusion dishes! There is a restaurant called two sisters in that general vicinity. which I tried and I think is much better.

Tonight was my husband’s second time and my first time getting orange beef from here(take out). We are impressed! We have had orange beef in the states of WA, TX, and now WI and this place is one of the best we’ve had. We tried many places in TX and WA, too! The flavor is good and you really get a lot for the cost. Aside from the orange beef and side of rice, you also get soup and egg roll, too. So, for 2 orange beef meals that came each with rice, soup, and egg roll and then an add on for a large white rice, it all came to $ 24. I got the Wonton Soup for both meals– very good! So were the egg rolls! Our 7 yr old son tried orange beef for the first time when my husband got it here first and he loved it, so of course he had some tonight :) This is definitely going to be our go-to place for chinese.

Surprising and pleasant surprise to find in Burlington. Quality and taste were well above average carry out Chinese food. Dishes were nice sized portions but not too much, easily shared by two. Meat quality and seasoning, spice use, freshness, etc. was very good. Did not try Sushi(yuck) but their standard Chinese fare dishes had good quality. Four of us shared the honey tempura chicken… very good! All white meat chunks of chicken breast… no gross fatty dark chunks disguised in triple breading. The pineapple flavor made it better than standard honey crisp chicken. Mongolian beef had excellent flavor, good garlic, nice beef, wasn’t stringy or fatty. Beef Lo-mien didn’t disappoint either(they could ease up on the oil in the wok… but was still very good). Chicken Teriyaki was two large chicken breast cooked perfectly. Soups were all good, appetizers were very good and egg roll was fresh with crispy vegetables and not oily. Like I said, for our first time we stuck with«basics» to sample and they delivered! We will go back… Thank you Kira’s!

The best sushi and Chinese I’ve found in the area. I drive from Lake Geneva when i need a fix because I haven’t found anything closer worthwhile. My favorite is the pine street roll but I haven’t had anything I didn’t like yet. Service is fast and friendly.

First thing I have to say is the sashimi cuts where the thickest EVER. My chopsticks where like fishing poles, they where practically bending. Second, the service was so slow I think the fish died of old age. I ate half my meal before I got a drink but the chef handed me a complimentary plate of some awesome salad I’ve never had before. The rolls where very good and I’m glad I sat at the sushi bar but the one problem with that is the bar is way to low, I wanted to hold my plate up to my face. The chef was awesome and the fish was thick so for that I give 3 stars. I had waitresses running back and forth and for a $ 50 meal, I wasn’t offered soup or salad before my sashimi came, then they took away my soy tray and that is not cool(I don’t speak Korean so they ran off with it, I tried to stop them) I was here so long I hope they send my pay check to the right address. I doubt I’ll be back(I went out of my way to try the place) because the service was terrible but the chef was good. Good guy, good preparation. If I lived in burlington, I would come back but since I live closer to way better places, I have to tip my hat to this place. Plus no soup or salad, boooooo.

My daughter is a sushi and sashimi fan, while I am not that adventurous, but I was anxious to try a new Chinese restaurant since there is not a decent one in Muskego where I live. So we headed out a couple months ago. My shrimp lo mein was delicious with huge tasty shrimp and the crab rangoon was the best I ever had. My daughter said the sushi was as good as she remembered. I have been anxious to go back and a little nervous because I have gone back to places I thought were great only to be sadly disappointed. That was not the case here! I had the same dish because I wanted those more of those fabulous shrimp. It was even better than the last time and the serving size is so large that I took almost half of it home and had a second meal. The crab rangoon was superb and my daughter’s sushi was delicious as well. We will definitely be back again, hopefully sooner.

Pretty good for these parts. Rolls are decently priced with a good selection of the usuals and unique. Beer is cold. Beer is good

Ok first off, there is NOTHING good about this place. Poorly lit, grungy, the fish tank on the sushi bar hasn’t been cleaned in at LEAST a month(the gold/green water and scum on the sides was a dead give away). So far we’re just talking about appearance. Now let’s get to the food. I asked for four orders of «mixed» vegetable stir fry and the included soup. What I received was four orders of broccoli(about $ 3 worth) and a few bamboo shoots, all swimming in brown broth, not exactly«mixed» veggies. The bill was just over $ 40. Worst part came later in the evening and into the next day while my body expelled all of the brain altering, stomach cramp inducing MSG that was packed into this food. So let’s sum it up. Grungy joint in an old strip mall served me $ 3 worth of broccoli and $ 1 worth of «soup» that was so loaded with MSG i’m still paying the physical price as I type this. All for $ 40. If you really think this is good food, you need to venture further than Burlington for your culinary experiences. This place is disgusting, and an absolute rip off. As an fyi, I did think about getting sushi, but after looking at the sushi bar where the fish was on display as well as the fish tank that was sitting on it, I decided against it. I can tell what super fresh fish looks like, and that ain’t it. There are SOOOO many restaurants that provide a much better experience within 30 minutes north, south, east, or west of this dump.

Got the Sushi Lunch special. While I could eat more, it was a good amount for the price. came with either soup or salad, 5 pieces of sushi and a California roll. Next time, might try the Sushi and Sashimi lunch which is 6 pieces of sashimi, 3 pieces of sushi, a California roll and soup or salad.

Went there with three other people and we all enjoyed our meals. Desserts were delicious. Reasonable prices. Great service. I have tried a lot of Chinese restaurants and this stacks up with the best of them. Very fresh sushi. Portions were just right. This is a great addition to the area.

Very very good!!! I went last night. Everything was super fresh and looked great!!! Don’t let the outside strip mall scare you, go in!!! From the food, staff to the décor was top notch!!! Just a little pricey but you do get what you pay for here!!! Drink menu needs some work but they just opened. I will be back often!!! Try it!!! You WILL be back!!! I posted some pic’s of my sushi dinner, Unagi. So SUSHILOVERS if that just doesn’t make your mouth water!!! Nothing will!!!(it takes a long time to order because they have so much to choose from!!!)

Sushi was really good. Spicy roll and Pine street roll were great! Service unfortunately was slow. It took a bit to get our food. The server was super friendly and they did give us free dessert for our wait!
