I’ve been searching for good boba in Burlington, but I don’t think I’m gonna find it! I’m no expert on boba by any means, but I found the boba here too sweet for my liking. The first time I went I tried a fruity flavor and couldn’t finish it because of how sweet it was. The next time I went for regular green tea slush and liked this a lot more. It is still sweet, but it almost tastes like green tea ice cream! I was very excited to find that they had mochi ice cream once, but the next time I went it was gone. I will continue my search for boba!

I love my bubble tea, and this place was a surprise bubble tea establishment in Burlington. I got a just-boiled bubble tea, powder style, the bubbles were fresh and cooked to the right consistency but when I bit down on them the sweet had not yet penetrated them and they felt less sweet. I don’t know if that’s a trait of the just-boiled bubbles or not, but that is why I give them 4⁄5 stars. Powder tea is a legit bubble tea style so I won’t punish them for it, just keep that in mind if you are a brewed bubble tea purist. Also they didn’t do the crushed ice style which is more common in good bubble tea establishments but maybe that’s also asking for extra awesome. Otherwise it was quite good. They even had a machine for sealing the bubble tea in the taiwanese style.

Dehydrated after shopping in several wintry layers and jilted by the vending machines in the bottom floor of the Burlington Town Center mall, the lady and I saw My H2O as we began ascending the escalator, quickly pow-wowed… and doubled back down to see what they were all about. My H2O is an exotic, Japanese-influenced bubble tea and juice stand with a few barstool seats, a counter and all kinds of brightly-advertised offerings. This weekend, they had Japanese wafer cookies in both original and strawberry flavors out for sampling(strawberry must have been good, as they were all gone). Two teenagers ran the stand and they couldn’t have been more helpful. While I love bubble tea, I wanted something more thirst-quenching than a milk-based slurry that I would have to sip. The guy suggested a passionfruit juice and explained that they could put the boba(tapioca balls) into that just as well as bubble tea. My companion ordered a honey lemon ginger juice with boba and several minutes and some extensive preparation later, both drinks were brought over to us. Both flavors of juice were delicious– the passionfruit was bright and sweet without being cloying, the honey ginger lemon more robust and mature. In both drinks, the tapioca began dissolving a bit more than you would encounter in a bubble tea. Highly recommended for a pit stop!
