I love this place! It’s the first place I ever tried Indian food(friends brought me here) and I keep coming back for more. It’s authentic. The owner is from southern India. A very friendly guy, he sat and conversed with us one afternoon when it wasn’t busy. It gets packed quickly. I love eating here because lots of their menu items are naturally gluten free and most of all because the food is so flavorful. Be aware when ordering spicy foods, if you aren’t used to them, order mild because Indian food runs hot. I learned that the hard way when I ordered some Chicken 65. I have recommended this restaurant to lots of friends and we’ve even bought food to go to take to parties and everyone was pleased. They are going to be opening a restaurant in Greensboro on Bridford Parkway which will make me a happy girl. You will not be disappointed.

Always enjoy the lunch buffet… especially the butter chicken! Mango mousse and the hot tea are other favorites, along with the fresh naan. Delicious!!!

Everything I’ve had here has been pretty yum. The chick peas, curry chicken, and vegetable noodles are my favorites from the buffet! Dinner service is also great.

Many reviews I’ve read are based solely on the lunch buffet, which I have not had. I went for dinner and enjoyed every aspect of my experience. The waiter was very prompt with refilling my water(I drink a LOT of water), and the food came out quickly. I had the lamb korma and it was tasty. Family members have had other dishes they really enjoyed. My only complaint is the same issue you experience at many Indian restaurants… they don’t believe you when you say you want it hot when they ask for your heat preference. I really don’t know what«medium» would be, because«hot» was«mild.» But the flavor of the food is great, so this really isn’t a big deal. The restaurant was nearly empty on a weekday during dinner hours, but don’t let that drive you away. That’s probably just a lack of interest in this cuisine in this town. The food is REALLY delicious, and reasonably priced.

The lunch buffet has a sizable selection of dishes. Although a word of caution, they might not refill items that get finished before you get to them. So, go early if you want anything worth your time. The chicken dishes were tasty but the vegetarian food was okay or below par. The service was good and we got our dosa and naan hot and on time.

Came for the buffet. The korma and tikka were delicious. And, strangely, they had a mediterranean salad that was so good I ate an entire plate of it. So there ya go. Their Indian tea is excellent, too.

I love Indian food but not at Taaza. I only ventured there again because my coworkers wanted to eat there. There was almost no meat in the dishes on the buffet. Skimpy on the meat. Heavy on the cheap carbs and the flavor is mediocre. In my 15 years of living here and eating at this restaurant every once in a while it seems like it has been under a few names but the same owners. Never great but the only Indian food in town. Wish they had some delicious competition.

Excellent Flavor! This is some of the best Indian food we have ever had. We ordered garlic naan, chicken Tikka masala, and chicken koorma. We were blown away by the great flavor of the dishes. The staff was very friendly and prompt, and we even got to talk to the chef. This place is highly recommended !

Got the lunch buffet which is a decent deal($ 12), but the food loses its freshness after sitting out for a few hours(the case with most any buffet). I appreciate how they serve fresh naan to your table instead of having it on the buffet. A large variety of options but I wish they had more raw foods. They had a Greek salad on the buffet, but that was the extent of fresh fruits/vegetables. I appreciate how Mint Restaurant, located in other Nc cities, always has fresh citrus fruits, smoothies and a variety of salads to choose from. It is nice to have these fresh foods to counterbalance the fried fritters/samosas and creamy dishes. A standout restaurant considering it’s Burlington!

I came here for lunch and tried their buffet. It was a great deal at 8.99. It had a good variety of chicken and vegetarian dishes. I liked the noodles and paneer with peas and mushrooms the best. The tamarind sauce is addictive. Instead of keeping the naan on the buffet they bring you out a fresh piece when you sit down and refill it when it was empty. The naan was excellent. I liked how you could get chai tea and dessert on the buffet. I can’t wait to try their dinner menu.

On its day, Taaza is the best restaurant in Burlington/Alamance County. On a bad day it is in the top two. I have eaten there many times for lunch and several times for dinner. The lunch buffet is under $ 10, and has possibly the best buffet food of any restaurant with a buffet. Dinner runs about $ 15 per person. Once I called the owner over to tell him that I had just eaten THREE of the best things I have ever eaten… off the buffet. One was a chickpea dish! How can chickpeas be one of the best things ever? On one occasion, I asked the owner to order me something I haven’t had before. He came back with Kadhai and a cherry, coconut naan. Each was very good, BUT together it was exceptional. My dining companions agreed. On a different occasion, I asked the waitress to order me something new. She came back with the Chetinad and a cherry, coconut naan. Again it was an exceptional pairing. I have sent many friends and co-workers there all of whom loved it. You will be no different.

Being an indian, one can be picky how good an indian restaurant can be. The biggest challenge with indian restaurants in united states is that they fail to be consistent. You never really know what you may get(or experience later in the restroom :)). Taaza i believe overcomes these challenges with flying colors. Being close to work, i have only gone there for their lunch buffet. In NC, this is the best indian buffet i have experienced in the last 5 years. Their buffet has a few things that are always there-butter chicken, chicken 65, gulab jamun, mango mousse, haka noodles(indian style), tandoori chicken, medhu vada & sambhar, etc. They switch it up every now and then. The food quality and taste never disappoint. Butter naan is served hot and fresh to the table. You also get an option to get a plain or masala dosa at no additional charge. My office folks are crazy about the butter chicken and quite frankly is worth dying for. I love how they also have masala tea which is blissful after a heavy indian meal. Price is only $ 10 which is as reasonable as you can expect it to be. The service is prompt and quick. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes indian food.

As close to perfect Indian as you’ll find around here – really good lunch buffet, lots of veggie options, outstanding naan, great Masala chai, etc. The service is decent and the décor is rather lacking in «flair», but the Bollywood films on the dining room screens and the spicy smells emanating from the kitchen make you feel like you are somewhere far from Burlington.

This may sound like a backhanded compliment but for Burlington NC Taaza Bistro has great Indian food. I had their buffet recently. They had a great variety of a very tasty well prepared dishes to choose from. The selection included both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes as well as a number of classic Southern Indian dishes such as Idly and Wada. They also do one thing I think is a must for an Indian buffet. They bring the nan fresh to the table. I have never seen a place that can keep nan from getting hard, cold or both on a buffet. Atmosphere 4 — It is nice. The chairs are comfy and the dining room is not too crowded. The dining room has big windows all around making it a bright and cheery place for lunch. Service 4 — I only had one complaint about the service. While it was friendly and attentive I did have a little trouble finding someone to check us out. Other than that the service was great. Cost/Value 4 — Given the quality of what I got and how cheap lunch was I think it was a great value for the money. Food 5 — I know if you grew up in Chennai or New York the food here would seem kind of mediocre but Burlington is not New York or London. It is a sleepy Southern town. Finding good quality Indian food here is pretty darn impressive.

I was first introduced to Indian cuisine in 1988 in a restaurant in Roppongi, Japan. Moti is the standard-bearer when I judge Indian cuisine. Eating spicy food was routine growing up; and while I lived in Japan for two years, Moti feed my hunger for spicy cuisine. The dishes at this restaurant were good. Each dish had a well-rounded flavor and you could taste the Indian spices. My mistake was I opted for to eat from the buffet, which contained mild and sweet tasting dishes. It wasn’t until I started asking questions that the waitress indicated they could have made me a spicier dish. The Naan tasted like biscuit dough, it did not taste like it was cooked in a tandoor. Overall, if you enjoy Indian food and like a mild sweet flavor, this place should satisfy your desire. In my view, even if I had asked for a spicier serving, the sweetness was so overwhelming, I think it would have clashed.

Indian in Burlington! I had to see! Taste and see how I liked it? I guess overall I would give it 3 ½ Unilocal stars for the Food… Service was Super Friendly and FAST! Spice Levels were Perfekt and we like our Indian food Mild! Mild AND Still FULL of Flavor! For an Indian Restaurant that has a Spice Level Disclaimer on one of their dishes you might be intimidated unless you like it SUPERHOT and they did Mild Dishes Very well as far as getting it Mild enough! Chicken Tikka Masala or Butter Chicken, usually a Gateway Curry and though the Spice«heat» level was perfekt the flavor could have been better… a wider profile of flavors would have made it, still it was better than all of the Nepali versions and a lot of the Indian ones too, yet compared to the best I have eaten this one is only Good enough for 3 Unilocal stars 555 Chicken Chef Specialty section of the Menu! Not Shy about the use of GARLIC and should be commended ! Naan, Garlic Naan was pretty Good The Fried Okra Appetizer was very Good though nothing about the flavor said Indian to me. Mali Kulfi was Too Rosewatery, too Perfumey in Flavor! I LOVE Mali Kulfi though this one was OVERpowered by the Rosewater, my Bride enjoyed it more than I. Want it HOTTER? Depends! If you are underintimated because you do not think they can make it HOT enough, my suggestion is to wear some absorbent Underpants! Depends come to mind! Think like an Astronaut!
