My four year old PC recently started to make a humming noise. I knew that it was one of my fan units going bad, but wasn’t sure which one. I have an above average knowledge of computers, but have never made any repairs on my own. For that matter, never before have I needed to take a PC in for repairs. I was a little unsure about where to go. Initially, I took my PC to a famous «big box» store that’s known for keeping repair staff on site. Considering they wanted to charge me $ 69.99 just run a diagnostic and tell me what I already knew was wrong, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Upon searching Unilocal for a local computer repair business, I found The Computer Dept. After reading their website and getting a feel for their business, I decided to give them a shot.
I am so glad that I did! Steve at The Computer Dept determined that my video card’s cooling fan was busted. He had a new card ordered, installed and running within twenty-​four hours. On top of that, his price blew the «big box» store away! I was able to get my PC completely repaired (and upgraded for that matter) for just a little more than what the «big box» was going to charge for the diagnostic! Who knows what the «big box» would have charged me if I’d actually let them repair it!
