I love ice cream and for me, this was just okay. The ice cream was good, the service was okay, the price was a bit high, and it was not too dirty. One complaint was they were out of a lot of flavors and they do not have soft serve. The location is cool as you can walk down to the river and watch the ships go by. If you want decent ice cream and are in the area, this place will fit your needs without many complaints.

Very good ice-cream but a little pricey, like each toppings 80-cents a piece I believe. But anyways during the summer I go here a lot and its always good, usually busy but not too packed that you’ll have to wait to long, if you want good ice-cream this is the place to go.

If charm was all that counted, they’d get 5, for sure. But the service, oy vey. And, ew, the tables were all so sticky. We went on Saturday night, and it wasn’t very busy, but we waited nearly 20 minutes for our ice cream, even though there were 4 people on duty. We didn’t have a complicated order. Mine — a dish of chocolate hazelnut with caramel — was melted when it finally arrived, which the waitress said was because of the caramel. It wasn’t hot caramel — so, yeah, right. They just let it sit for way too long. I’m not so picky that I’d refuse to eat my ice cream, of course, but actual ice cream instead of chocolate hazelnut soup would have been nicer. My boyfriend ordered a waffle cone with mint chocolate chip ice cream, and the cone did not taste fresh, and the ice cream was definitely artificially flavored. So unfair, given the old timey décor and the expectations associated with that era! The shop is filled with vintage touches and is absolutely adorable. It’s a great location and the only ice cream shop around, but hopefully they can figure out the service angle.

I wanted to like this place I really did. I just can not bring myself to give it more than 2 stars. I have been to this location(dragged each time by a friend or my son begging for ice cream after the festival of lights. Side note SKIPITONTHISNIGHT!!) Homemade ice cream is amazing when done properly. I can not say anything that I have gotten here was good. To top it all off the staff can be rude at times and I’ve seen them down right ignore people. Now about my side note… it is PACKED on this night. We waited in line for an hour for ice cream. I would have left if I didn’t have to dig my way out of the place. But what made it worse was the way they handled it. They had a girl next to the ice cream bar taking your order which she relayed to one of two boys behind the counter who then told someone else helping. It felt like a horrible game of whisper down the lane. Our group and the group in front of us had messed up orders but if you complained they would sigh loudly like it was our fault. Save your money and avoid the stress and go somewhere else! Want homemade ice cream? There is a dairy farm in Ewing with a store that sells homemade ice cream in tons of flavors for the same price as a two scoop.

This was good ice cream. A cute little place to go for dessert. Friendly service although two milk shakes took way too long to come out and it was obvious they had been over worked. We’ll go back though.

Not great. I should have been wary given that there were so few reviews! I ventured off my route on my way from DC to NY to stop at UMMM. The place was swarming with high school kids outside. They were literally the only people on the whole block in what was a pretty dead street. I walked in and ordered vanilla ice cream with m&ms. You know when you taste your ice cream and the consistency is like sand? You can taste the little granules and it almost seems like you need to chew it in order to get it to go down. Yeah, that’s this stuff. Perhaps the vanilla was old or something, but I won’t return to find out if it’s a fluke. I upped it to two stars because my ice cream yielded me a nice instagram photo with a decent amount of likes.

I’ve lived in burlington for 10 years and been going here alot. My friends like hanging out here, and I kinda dont. Its really small inside. And it gets really loud. They do have really good ice cream though. I personally dont like the people or employees there. Mostly teenagers who are rude and stupid. They usually cant do their job right. And the ice cream is too expensive for my taste. I’d say to the owners hire people who are mature and know how to take orders and be nicer.

I’ll first admit that I’m a bit biased, because I live just a block away from Ummm and having homemade ice cream within walking distance would pretty much kick arse no matter the quality. That being said, Ummms definetly delivers on the quality end! Their flavors are fun and inventive, and its nice to grab a scoop and head down to the riverfront to watch the boats the go by. Outdoor seating is nice, and they maintain the classic ice cream parlor décor inside that promotes that cozy neighborhood vibe. If you go, spring for the waffle cone its absolutely essential!

As other reviewers have noted, this place looks great. It’s a little slice of Americana and a time gone by. They have oodles of flavors of ice cream to choose from, it would just be a bit more helpful if the staff actually knew about the flavors, could explain them, and could actually deliver what has been ordered. We were a party of seven and were seated promptly. Some of us wanted sundaes, some shakes, some malts. We asked our server, who it became readily apparent was new on the job, about some of the flavors. She shrugged her shoulders and said, «I’m really not sure what is in that one.» I looked her between the eyes and asked if she could find someway to find out. She turned over her shoulder and asked someone behind the counter who kind of shrugged, too, and said it was basically like another flavor and that«they wouldn’t know the difference anywhow.» Huh? What did that mean? She arrived back at the table a bit later with her tray of desserts and started out with, «Uh, this one looks like it has a brown ice cream and some white ice cream. Did anyone order chocolate and vanilla?» This continued through all seven items as she played a guessing game about what each item was(and she was dead wrong on all of them). She delivered a sundae to me, when I ordered a shake. She brought a «shake» back and said, «Here’s your strawberry shake» to which I responded that I had ordered the sweet cherry. «Oh yeah. That’s what it is. I think.» Dear God. Well, it was the sweet cherry, but it was as thin as milk and most certainly was not a shake. We believe we all did not receive what we ordered and that the service in this place, provided exclusively by teens, was absolutely horrible. Too bad.

Umm’s has been around for ages, it’s what you remember as the old-time ice cream parlor. Before you even get there, smell the waffles, being made, Yummy!!! So quaint, sits right on the corner in historic Burlington. I have been meaning to go here again, been hot minute. Love this place and in warmer months, they have tables set up outside, sit & watch. So nice!!! definitely a must –come by for dessert, mid day treat, after dinner.

This old-timey ice cream parlor cannot be beat. I have had almost every flavor and have yet to encounter a «miss.» My personal fave, «Rosanna Banana Dana» float with chocolate chips. The price seems high for ice cream when you first look at the menu but one taste and you know this isn’t your average scoop! Most everyone in Burlington County knows where I live once I tell them how close it is to this ice cream parlor. It’s a landmark and well deserving of its reputation! It pains me to walk past every day on the way home from work and not stop in!

Stopped by on a Sunday night with the family to grab some dessert. The place was really busy(unexpected) around 8:30ish. It took me a bit to figure out what I wanted to order and decided on a single scoop of the cherry vanilla in a waffle cone. The waffle cones looked so good I had to get one. Mmm it was very good. Delicious, creamy, and had the perfect cherry flavor. I also tried some of the flavors that the other family members got, OMC(squared) which was oreo mint chocolate chip, mounds, banana berry(?) and they were also all fantastic. We just happen to be in the area which is why we stopped by, but if in the area again, I’ll definitely stop by. There’s friendly service and delicious ice cream!

Located in the Historic section of Burlington City, within walking distance of the«Promenade». Small ice cream parlor that makes their own ice cream. Limited indoor seating, and several outdoor tables with matching umbrellas. When we were there, one young woman working, and one guy who kept coming out and telling her more things to do. Pros: CUTE! Displays of vintage ice cream scoops, life-sized female car hop in front window. Benches that could be old church pews. The kids loved their ice cream. «One scoop» with massive whipped cream topping was more than my littlest one could eat. Home made whipped cream, ice cream, waffle cones, brownies, cookies, etc. Woo hoo! Air Conditioner set to «Nice and Cold» which felt great! Cons: Limited indoor seating. Tables look like they may have been rescued from a McD’s. No restroom noted(Not saying there Isn’t one, only that we didn’t SEE it.) Parking could be a pain. My chocolate cheesecake ice cream was heavy on the chocolate, not much ‘cheesecake’, but still good. Tip jar for the server makes me wonder if this means they get less than minimum, and my tip makes up the rest of her salary. I hate the guessing guilt. Makes for a nice mini-trip. Hit the Post Office, let the kids feed the ducks at the Promenade, then promise them ice cream if they behave for the 5 minutes you’re in the ARC Thrift Store across the street. $ 10.50 gets you 3 single scoops with one topping each, in a cup. Been in business for years, and always wins the«Best of Burlington County» Award in the BCT.
