This is my third time going to this place. When you walk in everything looks nice. Chair and table is in very good shape. I would give 4 stars for setting and service. But I can only give one star for sandwich that I ate. I ordered prime rib sandwich and Philicheese steak sandwich. It was not hot at all. Matter of fact, it was cold in center. I think they cook it other day and refrigerate and served it after hearing in microwave. The onion and pepper was from refrigerator also. I like mine cook at time that I ordered, not been sitting in damn refrigerator for couple days. If I want that, I go home and have leftovers. It wasn’t just me, my buddies said same thing about their sandwiches. There is alway silver lining to all shitty sandwiches, their hot wing sauce was fantastic. Next time I will order wings instead. I will give them another try.

Stopped by for Lunch. Had the Weekday special for $ 7.95. ½ sandwich, fries, and a side salad. Could also choose soup instead of the fries or salad. Not a bad deal. I paid the extra $.75 to upgrade the sandwich to a premium. Had the ½ smoked brisket and cheddar. Choose the Carolina sauce. Had a great smoke flavor and the sauce provided the right amount of sweetness I was looking for. The fries were fresh cut… Damn. Bonus right there. And they were a nice color which tells me they change the fryer oil regularly. Hate to get the dark fresh cuts. Salad was very good, I enjoyed the house dressing. It was a house made Italian. This was my first visit here, waitress was very nice and checked back often. For 3 of to eat I was $ 27.xx, not bad, not bad at all for homemade food. I will be back for sure, I want to try the pulled pork and also the wood fired pizza they offer.

My wife and I went here on one of our Friday date nights. The place was packed, take out orders coming and going. I must say the service was excellent and for being busy was very timely. The food was top notch and we can’t wait to go again. Try the prime rib, it melts in your mouth. Home made Coleslaw two thumbs up!!! Now one of our favorite local restaurant’s.

I haven’t tried their BBQ at all but the pizza is terrible. I ordered a large pepperoni for take out. Woodfired pizza BTW. It came out totally burnt. I like my pizza on the darker side usually so if it was a little burnt it wouldn’t be bad but it was literally charred. I took pictures because I have never seen a pizza that burnt in my entire life. It was almost really light in weight because of it being so burnt. I called them to complain and the girl on the phone said that’s what wood fired pizza tastes like and I should just try it. I have had many many wood fired pizzas and none have looked like this. Someone needs to learn how to regulate their oven or maybe just stick to the bbq

I love coming back to my hometown and finding new restaurants have opened. I know this place has been around for over a year now, but I finally got to try it for the first time the night I got into town. I think the building used to be some kind of consignment shop or something in years past, so it was nice to go in and see how nice the restaurant space is. It also smells wonderful when you walk in. I got a half rack of ribs with the Alabama sweet sauce. Entrees come with two sides so I picked the hand chopped salad and baked mac & cheese. The ribs were great. The half rack was huge and the meat is fall off the bone good. I loved the Alabama sweet sauce. Apparently it’s their number 1 seller so you probably can’t go wrong with that. The baked mac was also really great. I was so full by the end of our meal. You definitely won’t go away hungry here! I hope this place continues to do well.

The food is very good usually. The waitstaff is young and inexperienced and does not know how to serve. Don’t check to see how the food is or if you need anything. Our pizza order was missed so when I came to the table it wasn’t well done enough. Management is clearly struggling. So poor service keeps it from four or five stars

I was very excited to spot this place on a recent visit to my hometown. My first glimpse was not of the restaurant but of the adjacent smokehouse, where a giant pile of wood and a hammock share space with the cheerful smoker. Sold! So even though I was there for only a short time and had a full dance card, I finagled a visit for lunch. Bottom line: meats were so-so, sides were great, sauces were outstanding. The meats that I tried – pulled pork, ribs, and chicken – were slightly dry and bland. Of the three, the pulled pork was the best. Also, there was not much smoke flavor. While it’s true that the sauces were awesome, barbecued meat should always be good enough on its own. However, I loved the side dishes. There was a nice variety, though I tried only two. The hand-cut fries were very sharp, and came on a dinner plate. The cole slaw was fresh and tasty, with big slivers of cabbage and carrots, basically the polar opposite of that minced, homogeneous grocery-store caliber shite. This made me happy, because most barbecue joints half-ass their cole slaw. By far, the best thing going at Boulevard BBQ are the sauces. They offer ELEVEN different varieties! Too cruel! I ordered the sampler platter partially because it included three choices of sauce, and I cribbed another one from my mom’s plate, but there were at least three others that sounded brilliant. My favorite of the four was South Carolina Gold(a mustard-based sauce), followed by the Texas Chipotle Hot(which registers really low on the heat scale but still tastes good); the other two were Honey Creek BBQ and Alabama Sweet, both good. Georgia Line, Greek Garlic Asiago, and Burn ‘Em Heat are on my list for next time. I can’t wait for my next visit to Mifflin County.

This place has been opened for over a year now. A bbq joint less than a mile from me is good news. Unfortunately, I just haven’t had the chance to try it out until recently. I saw an ad that stated they started serving wood fired pizza. I love wood fired pizza. So it was a must for me to try it. I ordered two pizzas. One with pepperoni and one with sausage. I ordered via phone. The girl taking my order said they may be out of sausage. She asked someone and then said it’s ok, they had some left. That is a little red flag for me. A bbq joint out of sausage at 6 pm. Ok, well they had some left. I go pick up the pizzas. The inside of the restaurant is decent for a bbq place. They have tables and a waitress. It looks small on the outside. But inside, I was surprised at the room. So, everything was fine. I get the pizzas, takes them home, both are pepperoni. Not what I ordered. But, not worth going back. I figured no problem if they get the pizza right. Well, they didn’t. One pizza was burnt. No, not woos fire charred. Burnt. The other was doughy and underdone. The pizzas didn’t taste too bad. The sauce was a little sweet for my tastes. But it was ok. I will go back here someday. Not for pizza, though. I should have just got some wings and brisket or something. I hear good things. I will update this review when I do that.

So we’ve ordered take out from here twice and ate in twice and our experiences have hit both ends of the spectrum. First experience was just ordering 2 chicken halves for take out. They were very good and service was good. Second was dining in for the all you can eat seafood(Saturday nights) and ordered some wings. My wife was very pleased with the seafood, but they were out of corn on the cob(included in the all you can eat special) and nothing was offered in it’s place. The wings I had were very good and I thought I had found a new favorite go-to place for wings. Third visit was again on a Saturday night with the whole family. Again my wife had the seafood and was pleased with it but this time they were all out of the hush puppies! I had wings again and they good, but not quite cooked as long as the first time. My daughter’s fries were not cooked long enough, some of them were border-line raw. Our last experience was a takeout order of 3 dozen wings and 2 orders of fries. The wings this time were horrible, they were not cooked nearly enough(not raw but far from crunchy) and VERY salty. I don’t think it was the sauce because we had 2 different flavors and both kinds were horribly salty. We ended up throwing over 2 dozen of them of in the garbage. The fries were the same story again, except this time none of them were really edible, almost all of them were practically raw, not even close to being done. We thew both orders of them out. One other thing worth noting. On 3 different occasions now I have ordered the wings which are advertised as a «bakers dozen» but I have counted them each time and none of our dozens(multiple each time) have had 13, they’ve always been 12. If 12 is the norm I’m fine with that, but you shouldn’t advertise them as a «baker’s dozen».

This place is great. The wings are awesome not greasy and cooked to perfection with a great selection of sauces/flavors. Pulled pork sandwich was also good with crispy fries and creamy coleslaw(had the Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce which was excellent). Had the all you can eat crab legs(Saturday special) they were great big meaty clusters and wonderful honey hush puppies. Although the place isn’t much to look at from the road I’m glad I decided to give it a try now my wife brings homes takeout frequently. The owner is present doing the cooking and he along with the staff are great answering any questions and just plain nice. I would definitely recommend this place.

I was excited about having a BBQ place close to home, but my enthusiasm quickly faded after I started opening the take-out packages from BLVDBBQ. We ordered the Sampler platter which included pulled pork, 1⁄3 rack of ribs, ¼ Chicken, 2 sides and 2 kinds of their homemade sauce(which they forgot to include). We opted for the fresh cut fries and their hand chopped salad. After the 35 minute wait for take-out BBQ in an almost empty restaurant, we collected our food hopping it was worth the wait. The pulled pork was watery and tasteless and the ribs were also bland with almost no char markings on them. Both meats tasted more like they had been boiled than BBQ’d. The chicken piece was pretty good and had a very mild smoke flavor. BBQ meats are supposed to stand on their own without the need for slathering of sauces, but maybe the sauces would have helped. The sides were equally as lackluster. The«hand-chopped» salad consisted of about 1 romaine leaf cut up with a few toppings. The fresh cut fries were both undercooked and overcooked. I have eaten at many BBQ joints across the country and have found some very good ones around Central PA, but Blvd BBQ is a miss on too many levels.

I’ve been driving by Boulevard BBQ for weeks, but finally ordered the Pick 3 Lunch Special for $ 6.99. Great value and good taste is my verdict. I ordered by phone, and the young lady was very patient since I didn’t have a menu in front of me. They also let me get two small sides instead of the soup of the day(I’m not into Chunky Tomato) or side salad(I’m not into salads at BBQ places). I appreciate when a restaurant makes an exception to make a customer happy. I got the ½ Boss’ s Favorite, which is pulled pork on a soft hoagie roll, with a mayo-based Carolina sauce and onions. Very good, pork was tender and not bland. One side was red-skin potato salad, which was ok. The other side was Mac-n-Cheese, and it was a baked mac with a nicely browned top. It reminded of a really good rendition of a casserole mac-n-cheese you’d get at a picnic, very flavorful and moist. To get all that with nice-sized portions plus a 20 oz fountain drink for $ 6.99 is really good, and I’ll go back to try their other sauces, as well as their brisket and chicken. The inside is clean, and has the«roadside bbq» look going on.
