It is getting harder and harder to find a Kmart in this day an age. Honestly, walking into one is pretty depressing because you know it is only a matter of time before the company is swallowed up. Walmart, for all of its flaws, has stayed ahead of the economy. Target is still the pop alternative to Walmart and it warm color schemes and friendly layout keep it viable. This Kmart store is no different from most others. Some spots are cluttered. Other spots are spacious. The layout even reminds you of a dying corporation desperate to turn stock. There is no energy in this store. The associates can’t always readily be found. There is dirt in spots and you rarely see anyone cleaning anything. I use to work at Walmart. When this store was new, it was kept so nice an clean that even we would forgo our wonderful(yes, sarcasm) discount to shop there. The layout was great and the associates seemed to want to work there. The store frequently has the stock you need because they don’t seem to turn much if it, maybe. If I need a quick oil filter and don’t feel like running across town to the evil empire, I will go to Kmart. But honestly, this store just depresses me. So I don’t go there often.
