I ordered the southwest chicken and the club sandwich on 2÷11÷15 for pick up. I had the chicken and my girlfriend ate the club. Less then an hour after eating i was suffering severe stomach cramps and was in the bathroom for about 40 minutes. My girlfriend did not get immediately ill. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We use to love this place and frequent often until several of our recent visits turned us off. What it all comes down to is poor customer service. From the beginning, customer service has to be a top priority for any business to survive. Recently we have seen a steady decline in customer service during our visits. I personally believe the decline comes from mismanagement and lack of experience/maturity among the employees. The quality of the pizza has also suffered as a result of poor customer service. The parking lot use to be full at any given time on any given day of the week but now seems to struggle to have more than employee vehicles in the lot. We will not be visiting again!

Like their food, but they have the slowest delivery ever. It doesn’t matter if I order a cold hoagie or a deep dish pizza, delivery has never been in less than 75 mins. Totally ridiculous.

I ordered penne with rosa sauce and meatballs. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce tasted like vinegar. I could have bought a can of Chef Boyardee and it would have tasted better. The only good thing i had was the toasted ciabatta bread.

The customer service is friendly. They are helpful in helping you decide on what to get. The pizza was great. Came out nice and hot with the topping cooked perfectly. Crust wasn’t burnt yet crispy. I will definitely come back

I have fond memories of eating at Davanni’s as a teenager. I’ve now moved away from Minnesota, but always make a point to come here whenever I’m in town. Their regular crust pizza is excellent, but I really come here for the deep dish. It’s not the traditional deep dish you’d get in Chicago, but it’s a similar style with the sauce on top and delicious in its own way. I like that you can order a whole pizza to share or an individual size. I recently tried their garlic bread for the first time and was unimpressed. They top their hoagie bread with butter and cheese, and it’s just not the right vehicle for it. The pizza is what keeps me coming back, so they can be forgiven for having less than stellar cheesy bread.

I’m let down again Davannis. You over cooked the crust on the traditional style pizza I ordered today. Think frowny face. I’ve been loyal. I’ve given you the benefit of the doubt. I think I’ve been fair. The deep dish pizza issue from a previous review I understand. This is Minnesota. Good deep dish pizza sometimes has to be imported, or made yourself. But now you’re pushing it on the thinner crusts!(cerulean blue, cerulean blue. Calming myself). Ok. Maybe we just need a break. Perhaps I’ll return, perhaps not. There’s plenty of Gluten Free options out there for the rest of the family, so take heed and figure it out. I’m sure I’m not alone.

The hoagies really shouldn’t be anything special but they are. They’re one of Minnesota’s tastiest hoagies and always consistent. They offer a solid deep dish pizza that’s not as sauce filled as most, and a thinner crust that delivers big on the cheese. This place is a great local eatery and family friendly place.

I have been coming here for the last 20+ years and can say they are consistent. In other words; if you order something plan on them forgetting part of your order or messing it up in some way the same applies for take out orders. However if you have the time stay you will receive fresh, warm and tasty food, for this reason I give it 4 stars. The food is good for the area and I would recommend it to friends.

I lived in Bloomington where the Davanni’s there was actually I believe the first in the state, not sure however that is the only Davanni’s I’ve tried in which actually I feel like puts some effort into their food. Their hoagies are good, their calzones very good(the sauce actually has taste to it and the bread tastes as if it has the spices in which are advertised to have) and their salads are amazing. Then… There’s the Burnsville Davanni’s. Wah Wah Wahhhhhhhhhhh We have ordered from this Davanni’s because the bf loves his hot hoagies and I’m sick of eating the bread in which tastes stale to me so I opted 3 weeks ago for the Southwestern Chicken Salad. Received the salad in which was supposed to come with Salsa Ranch dressing. I received Oriental dressing instead in which I accidentally poured on my salad not having looked at it and assumed it was the correct kind. After being thoroughly annoyed when I assumed that my salad was now ruined with Oriental flavor on a southwestern salad, I poured some Ranch I had at home on it and suprisingly it was great. Two weeks ago, we ordered from there again. I got the same salad and was looking forward to intentionally ordering the Oriental dressing with it. Not only did I not get the dressing, they didn’t have any chicken on the salad which when you’re paying almost 8 bucks for a salad the chicken missing is pretty substantial. By this time I was pissed and called and spoke to a manager in which I told her what had happened the last two times we ordered so she sent me a coupon for a free salad entrée. Well last night we called and ordered Davanni’s so that I could use my free coupon and I spoke to the gal that was placing the order and she noted the free coupon because of the order mishap and I told her what I wanted(which is the original salad only with oriental dressing, not a high-maintenance order) and I get the salad and this time it does have the chicken, does have the dressing however it didn’t come with the tortilla strips. SO, I’m done ordering from Davanni’s unless it is the Bloomington location where we have ordered for work meetings etc and never had an issue with the order and the food was tasty and amazing. Clearly Davanni’s are privately owned establishments and some of them have it figured out, the others just carry the name and expect the ones that actually work hard at the business to create the reputation for the company while the locations such as the one in Burnsville ruin it.

So many great menu items to choose from! From pizza to salads to hoagies, Davanni’s has something for everyone in your party. I find their hoagies to be superior in quality, quantity of toppings & price when compared to your average sub shop. The other day my mom and I both ordered personal pizzas & a side salad and our total was under $ 15…not too shabby!

Since I’m from Chicago, I’m not going to say much about the pizza. It’s fine compared to anything else I’ve had in the area. Again, maybe because of where I’m from, I had never eaten a hot hoagie before coming to Davanni’s. The best comparison I can make is to the toasted subs of a Quizno’s. I like the sandwiches at Davanni’s better because they are piled high with meat and melted cheese. The combination of the vegetables on top are cool, crisp and fresh makes for a sandwich that keep me coming back when I’m in town.

It’s amazing the absolutely mediocre pizza Minnesotans will pay for and seemingly enjoy. We stopped at this Davanni’s location today after dropping off a bike at MotoPrimo. Ordered a medium pizza and some pasta(I have a 15 year old who eats every three hours). Expected something special. Received a very blah pizza and pasta. Bland sauce, tasteless pepperoni. Neither food item came close to being finished. We gave up and left. We spoke with the manager who seemed surprised and said that maybe they were having an off day. She gave us a certificate for a free pizza. Which we will never use. You can get this quality of food from the grocery store’s frozen food case. And it costs a lot less than $ 25.
