I work in Bloomington and I’m a fan of Foodsby lunch delivery, and I wanted to try something new. Pimento Jamaican Kitchen was on the delivery schedule for today. I ordered a Signature Jerk Chicken wrap with MN Nice BBQ sauce. It was very satisfying and the portion size was just about right. The food was fresh and warm when I took my first bite. The taste was savory, with the chicken, rice, and plantain banana combination, and the MN Nice BBQ sauce added a nice zip with a hint of clove flavor and mild heat. I will surely be ordering again! (Please fix your website, though!)

Very disappointed. I see all of these good reviews and I’m shocked. I stood at the ordering spot for at least a 2 minutes before anyone acknowledged me(I was the only person there) and when the guy talked to me he didn’t say hi, smile, make eye contact or have any sort of personality. Hospitality people! All the people working there looked miserable and that they didn’t like each other. They did not speak to each other. I ordered from one guy and he put the food on a table and left it sitting there uncovered and went in back. I stood there for a good 10 minutes wondering what was going on and why it was sitting there getting cold. Then the guy at the register asked what I got. Umm, I was the only one there and it was sitting behind him the entire time. The place look unorganized and dirty. i ordered One Love. My meat was fatty, the coleslaw was dry and the plantains were soggy. I ate the rice and threw the rest away. Don’t waste your time and money. There are many other food places there that I’m sure would appreciate your business. First and last time going there.

Surprisingly good Jamaican food given that it’s in a mall. Had the Jerk Chicken plate, nicely spiced, around $ 7. Chicken patty was $ 4, most I’ve ever paid for one but had a good flaky crust. Would come back again.

Excellent food. Very flavorful. The jerk chicken was fall off the bone tender and well seasoned. The fried plantains are a 10⁄10.

We used Pimento to cater a carribean themed party and it turned out fantastic! The food was delicious, neatly packed and ready to be served the minute we set it on the table(needless to say, it did not spend too much time on the table as it was eaten up by the guests). Definitely recommend as an option to liven up your catered meals!

I always gey the veggie wrap. It’s the only vegetarian thing but I don’t get sick of it. Yum. Can’t wait until the new spot in mpls opens. I bet they’ll be more veggie options. Time to eat!

The food here is definitely authentic. I tried the Jerk Chicken meal. My only complaint is that the food servings are really small for the price. They will have another location opening this fall. Hopefully with a full menu the food choices will be even better.

I’ve eaten at their food truck several times(Basically anytime I can find it) and I love their food. It’s great Jamaican food and I like that they also donate meals to a local charity. I’ve ordered both the pulled chicken and pork and both were delicious and well spiced. Everybody serving seems very friendly.

This place is Jamaican me crazy… because it is the real deal… and there is a reason why it won Food Network’s Food Court Wars! West Indies Soul Food and Marla’s are my typical go-tos when I am craving Caribbean food… mostly because they are the only places I know… so I was pretty pumped when I was able possibly add another spot to my list. My first taste of Pimento was the«One Love», which is jerk chicken and pork served over coconut rice and beans with plantains and a ‘slap yo mama hot’ jerk sauce. All I have to say about this dish is that there are SOMANYFLAVORSPARTYINGINYOURMOUTHATTHESAMETIME, it’s like Sean Paul, Shaggy, and Omi are having a concert on your taste buds. As a side note, they also have Jamaican patties, which are the same ones served at Marla’s and West Indies Soul food, so if you are craving those delectable bad boys, you can get them here. The mild is a Minnesotan’s spicy, so make sure you have some water by you to beat the heat. Definitely give Pimento a try — if not at their food court, then hopefully at their restaurant opening on Eat street in the fall!

I cannot stop thinking about the One Love dish here… tender meat and I could eat an entire bottle of their signature hot sauce. The beans and rice are great and I’d love even more coconut flavor. I cannot wait until they are open on Eat Street so I can get my fix more often!

I’m not a huge fan of food court food but Pimento is an exception. This was my second time here and it was just as good as the first! I ordered the Boneless Jamaican Jerk Chicken Bowl with their signature hot sauce, delicious! The meal comes with rice, cole slaw, and sweet fried plantains. I’m impartial to coleslaw but the rest of the meal was delicious. The chicken is seasoned well and the hot sauce has the kind of kick I like which gives the chicken great flavor. The flavor can be overwhelming but the rice evens out the flavor. I think my favorite part of the meal was the fried plantains — fried perfectly and not overdone :)

This place was great. Bought a Groupon for this place not realizing where it was. I live downtown so it was a twenty minute drive to the Burnsvile Center mall — well worth the trip. Friend and I both got the One Love combo which includes chicken, pork, rice & beans, coleslaw, and plantains. The coleslaw was forgettable but everything else was delicious. The extra hot hot sauce was great too. With their simple menu this would make a great addition as a food truck.

I was a little hesitant to try this out as I wasn’t really in the mood for barbecue. But, I was pleasantly surprised! The cooks there were very friendly and helpful when helping me choose what to try. We even joked a little bit back and forth! The food was delicious! I love spicy food, and this had a great kick to it, but with a great flavor! The portions are plentiful as well! Overall, I have nothing bad to say! Five stars all around! Love love love!

This food is AMAZING! As a black/Haitian woman in Minnesota, it is hard to find places to eat that have true Caribbean flavors. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the plantains were sweet. The coleslaw was a little lacking and the rice could have used more coconut milk(but I know it’s expensive). But overall, I was in heaven. They had a special with ox tails and it was delicious. Go here!!!

I’m writing on behalf of my mother and grandmother. They rated this authentic Jamaican establishment a five for a few reasons. My mother ordered a Fried Chicken Patty, with the rice, slaw and plantains; and a soda. She said the fried plantains were excellent, the chicken(rolled in fried tortilla) was fresh with a little kick. The meal, for the low price of $ 7.00, included not too much, and not too little, which made for an excellent lunch. Owners were very friendly and excited to serve my family, which made the experience that much more pleasurable. We recommend this place for those of you Unilocalers!

This is by far the best food I’ve had in any food court. The«one love special» is my favorite, jerk chicken, slow roasted pork, Jamaican slaw, coconut rice and beans, and fried plantains. It is a TON of food. My boyfriend and I are always satisfied with sharing just one plate. If you prefer it super spicy as I do, ask for the«extra hot» sauce. It’s not listed on their menu, but they always have it, and not only is it hot, but it has very good flavor.

This was decent. I got the One Love which is jerk pork and chicken, with rice and plantains, and I also got some curry vegetables. The veggies were cold– not thoroughly heated. The meat was good. Rice was just rice and the coleslaw wasn’t anything special. The hot sauce was great. Decent for a food court option but I’ll probably choose something else next time.

I am very pleased with this place especially for a food court location. I have travelled to Jamaica several times and have had jerk chicken from there, too. Yes, it would help if they had the smoke blowing all over the place like in Jamaica, but let’s be honest, we are in a family friendly food court and not everybody wants to smell like a BBQ. The customer service was excellent. The guy was very friendly. I had a combo dish which consisted of: pulled jerk, island style slaw, plantains, red beans and rice. All was very delicious. I tried the hot and mild sauce, and the hot sauce was much better. Price of my combo: $ 7.50. Not bad, my belly is satisfied. The staff member said they’re opening a second location in Uptown, Minneapolis. They will do real well. I’ll be back for more.

Something missing. Something is not there, something… something…something. But what? Well it is that flavor, the smell that you would expect from the Jamaican food. This place gave up the authenticity to create the blah dishes that brings in lot of «want to try, but not too exotic» crowd. Don’t get me wrong, their food is edible just not good enough that will make you come back for the second time, unless you are extremely hungry and they are the only option. Oh well, I am not sure when I am complaining about a food court place in the mall. I know why, I spend my money thinking it will be lot more authentic.

This food court wars winner makes an impression. My husband and I were looking for good quality and reasonable price south of the cities. What we got was delicious– perfectly spiced-, reasonable portions and great pricing for the quality. Rarely can you walk out of a food court and feel a healthy satisfied feeling, but here you can. The ingredients are ultra fresh and local. I got the chicken which was moist and nicely spiced. Their Kingston Hot sauce has a slow creeping heat, but wasn’t overwhelming or too intense for me. The pork that hubby got was good, but I preferred my chicken. Rice was the least enjoyable because it was a tad dry and you couldn’t taste any coconut. The plaintains were exquisite with all the right flavors of vanilla and caramelization.,. I almost ordered seconds. This one is definitely worth the trek.
