i’ve been coming here for many years and can’t say enough good things about it. Great atmosphere, eager learners and close supervision. They are all specifically talented at hair color.
the only drawback is that the students work slower than the pros. Bring cash to tip, and be prepared to tip well because the prices are so low. Free parking. Book way ahead for Saturdays.

If you are nervous about this, then ask for a student close to graduation. I have short, course, thick hair and not easy to cut. For $ 9.00 I received a warm welcome, a cup of chai tea, a consultation, a shampoo and scalp/​shoulder massage, a haircut from a student eager to please, and a «second haircut» from the educator. It’s a no brainer! Can’t say how many haircuts I’ve hated and spent $ 75 for. This works for me. I will go back. Oh, and just a heads up. They will try to sell products so be forewarned.

A gal pal and I had some pedicures today. It was so nice. The place was clean and BUSY! I feel like that’s always a good sign. Anyways, we picked out a polish and went to get some R&R. I was a bit sad they didn’t have the big tubs or chairs. But, it was fine. I was super happy that they had the tub liners– bit of a germ-​a-​phobe!!! As the students finished up, they told us we get to KEEP the color that we picked out. How SWEET!!! Let’s review, in and out in about an 1hr, free polish, fab. service, and it ran me $ 15. I’ll be going back :)
Bring cash to tip since they don’t have a place to tip when you pay with a card!!!
Also, I recommend getting a parafin treatment, it was NICE!
Last thing, if you have time and patience, I’d do the school route. They are good at the services, they just take a bit more time :)

I’m all for a hair color experimentation and a good deal! Formerly known as Oliver Thein Beauty School; Regency Beauty Institute is a beauty school located next to the Burnsville Shopping Center.
This salon offers a variety of services, from hair color to cuts, waxing, facials, pedicures, manicures, and basically any other standard salon offering.
If you are looking for a meticulous to the tee hair do, then this place is not for you. If you consider yourself picky, then go find somewhere else that suits you.
Overall satisfied with each and every visit. I normally pop in for new color every 3 to 4 months. Typically I get a 2D foil, prices for that particular service can range from $ 40 to $ 50 bucks. Hair cuts run around 9 bucks a pop.
I like going to Regency because the girls working are generally very friendly and they always seem to stew up an entertaining conversation! They are there to learn, and try their best.
If your OK with risk, then go for it!
