We were in town for a wedding and were told to stay at The Nu Wray by the groom. We showed up after the festivities and Eric was waiting for us to show us to our room. He was really friendly and helpful! He offered suggestions on where to find some late-night eats and wine. The room was really charming and clean. We were really comfortable. We enjoyed our evening in downtown Burnsville. The inn is located on the«square», and surrounded by historic buildings. We loved the little town and the hotel was really cute– it was a great night. Breakfast the next morning was included and it was HUGE, and yummy. We sat on the front porch and enjoyed the small-town vibes. I don’t know why there are such negative reviews here. They do NOT mirror our experience at all. We had a great time and if we ever end up in Burnsville we will definitely say here again.

I am blown away that a business that is supposed to be in the service and HOSPITALITY industry would consistently behave in such a hostile and paranoid way. Should you choose to do business with this Inn, however, know that they will require you to sign the following upon arrival: Non-Disclosure Agreement: As our guest of The Nu Wray Country House, you agree not to upload to the Internet, publish, broadcast, or perform, or cause others to do the same, without owners express written consent, any information gained as a result of your stay with us. Said information includes, but not limited to, descriptions, methods, opinions, reviews, facts, pictures, video and audio recordings, and the like. You agree to pay owner $ 200 each time said information is accessed by the public. You acknowledge that utilizing a false identity to upload said information may additionally result in your being charged with a crime. You agree to reimburse us for expense we incur in determining your identity to enforce our rights. If you cannot agree with these Terms and Conditions, you agree not to stay with us. ________________________________ Most companies know that the way to avoid bad reviews is to provide customers with great experiences, not to bully and threaten them. Gobsmacked doesn’t begin to cover it.

I am afraid to stay here because the owner is a hypersensitive crazy person who can’t deal w/factual problems. Your place sucks, good thing I never signed your joke of a non-disclosure agreement!

Burnsville is probably not what you would otherwise call a destination, and I am not sure our stay there would change that opinion. The Nu Wray, while a historic property that offers great hospitality and an awesome family-style breakfast in the morning to send you on your way for the day, does not offer the best sleep. Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot that they can do about it. The problem is the age of the structure — it just lets in too much noise from the highway, just a quarter-mile or so away, and the trucks travel that highway all night long. Throw in the ambient light from the shopping centers across the way and a good night of sleep is a challenge. Some nice blackout curtains could help, but probably not much because that will only block the light, and the historic nature of the property means that the exterior windows really cannot be changed to improve things. Still, the property is worth checking out, but maybe not if you are a light sleeper in need of a good eight hours of shuteye.
