I’m not sure why this restaurant is still in business. Before the Burr Ridge village center it was the only restaurant in the area. Now that the village center has a few restaurants I can’t figure out why people go to Max & Erma’s. We gave it one last try tonight and I don’t think I can ever go back. It’s over priced, the service is terrible, and the food is not very good. The reason I gave Max & Erma’s two stars and not one is for the unlimited ice cream bar.

The only reason they stay in business is due to the lack of restaurants in the area. A place to avoid, does not deserve 1 star.

Everything was fine here. But just fine. The service was fine, the food was fine. It was a bit over priced, but I was starving so it was fine. We ordered an appetizer of onion rings(since we had 5 starving people we needed something quick and easy to share). The onion rings were super thin, which meant they were super greasy. They tasted fine, but I think I could have eaten shredded ice berg lettuce at this point, and thought it to be fine. I wanted a combo, but when I asked for no cheese on the tortilla soup(I assumed it was sprinkled on top), the waitress mentioned that the soup was cheese based. I suppose for cheese lovers that would be great news, but for me it meant I had to change my order. I ordered a chicken sandwich with a salad in place of the fries. Swapping the side salad for fries turned my $ 8 sandwich into $ 9.50. That’s kinda a lot for a grilled chicken sandwich with an iceberg lettuce salad. My sister ordered the black bean burger, and when that arrived I wish I’d ordered it. The black bean burger came topped with guacamole and salsa, and had a nice salad on the side. My friend’s tomato mozzarella chicken sandwich also came with that mixed green salad. Why didn’t I get the good salad? Apparently I ordered a «side salad» and she got a «baby greens salad». Damn. Maybe if I hadn’t been starving I could have actually read the menu to order the correct salad. My mom’s chicken salad sandwich came with fruit salad on the side, and it looked really good! My other friend ordered the tortilla soup, and it did look quite cheesy. But she loves cheese, so she liked it. I was glad the waitress stopped me from ordering it though!

Like it!!! Very family oriented Applebee’s type of restaurant. With an ice cream bar. It was very cheap also. Their house salad(I think it is called the 8th street village or something) is one of the best salads I have ever had! It was so good we went back 2 days later to get it again. I will say that our waiter was an idiot though. I asked for a lime to go with my drink and he brought me a plate of 10 limes. No joke.

I had an early dinner after an appointment out here and I kind of enjoyed it. One of the better chains in my opinion since I have experienced this place out in the midwest before. I ordered nearly half of the entire appetizers menu because it sounded so delicious. Their chicken tenders are really moist and not at all dry and stiff like chicken strips you get at other places. I enjoyed the buffalo version. The Bbq chicken quesadillia was a miss though because it was rather bland and they just drizzle the bbq sauce on it. Not what I expected and not at all that tasty. The fries are A OK. The soft pretzel stubs were delightful, but auntie anne’s still has them beat. For dessert I had the banana cream pie and freshly baked cookies and they come out with the tray where the cookies have been baked on. Now put down your fucking coffee and pay close attention: The freshly baked cookies aren’t worth a damn! Mrs. Field’s could sucker punch these bitches and knock them out. They suck. Good thing I also had the banana cream pie around to comfort me from my disappointment. I liked this one better even though I’m not usually a lover of bananas. The End.

There definitely can be a wait at this place as there aren’t many similar choices nearby, but I always tend to be here at off hours, so I have never waited. I love this place, for the familiarity of the items, the constantly changing offerings and the simplicity of the food. I also never knew(until this morning) that they offer Sunday brunch! I got my typical fruit smoothie and had a double cheese omelette — nothing special with the eggs, but the potatoes they come with are really different. I think there is sour cream mixed in before they top them with au gratin mix and grill them up. Portions are not overwhemling — which leaves room for the fresh baked cookies at the end. Plus, who can’t not like a place that has mascots who skate and give out free stuff at the Wolves games? LOVEIT!

I got here at a little after 12 and there was a 20 minute wait. No problem. But when I have to wait another 10 minutes for a menu and refills were non-existant. The fish and chip were very greasy. I know it’s all fried, but my fingers were all oily. The chicken breast filet sandwich was great. Good presentation on that number. I would have to be desperate to come back here. But again, were in Burr Ridge and I really haven’t found anything worth talking about in this town.

Not sure if I came on a bad night but I found mostly everything not so appealing. To start the service was kinda bad. Maybe our server was having a bad day. But she didn’t acknowledge us after 20 min of being seated, she didn’t introduce herself, and not friendly what so ever. When we would try to get her attention by politely saying excuse me(since she really didn’t check up on us to see if we needed something else or a refill) she pretended she didn’t hear us and kept walking away. Our Food: I ordered this meal deal special you know appetizer, main course, and dessert… So for an appetizer I got the tortilla soup which would have been good if it was not luke warm. Then for my main course I ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta which seemed to me that they use the same soup mixture for the tortilla soup for the pasta sauce. As for the dessert I guess that was the best part… since I ordered the build your own sundae… which I did myself so it can’t go wrong. My boys enjoyed their food which to them anything that comes with a build your own sundae after wards is just amazing to them. I was just disappointed in the service… Not that I’m expecting them to roll out the red carpet, but all I ask is just your normal friendly«is there something else you needed?» service.

On occasion I come here when I visit my parents. It is only a stone’s throw away from their house after all. Food is generally good, even though there are kids everywhere. The menu is rather extensive too, so it appeals to many tastes. One of the nice perks is that you get to build your own sundae if you would like! Way cool. I just hope they have enough chocolate sauce for me when I go back!

I have not been here in a while until recently. I really should get here more often as I really do like this place. One of these days I have to order something different besides the Garbage Burger. I do love this burger as it is huge, cooked perfectly to order every time and is rather inexpensive. The service here is always great! The wait staff has always treated me well.
