I stopped here April 28 only to find the widows papered up. A good sign was that there was a work crew there remodeling and a sign on the window stating the new name. I then took a flyer up to Westmont to hit that Moondance and found the same thing. Again, there was both a sign and a crew on hand. I can only assume we haven’t lost both spots, but I’m not looking forward to change. I started going to the Westmont location around 1991. I never had a bad meal and service has run from good to excellent. I wish I could say the same for the host staff. I’ve always felt if they didn’t want to be there, then get the hell out. Burr Ridge, on the other hand, had friendly people working the desk but service varied widely. From great, to good, to indifferent. The food at both locations never varied. I went to both for cheese omelets and the bacon, sausage and onion Panhandlers, and got the same good quality each time. I’m hoping both reopen, without little change, other than to get the employees all on board to assure a pleasant experience.

Yep, I concur. We went there on 3⁄22 and the sign was up. Closed. We called the other place in Westmont and the phone rang and rang and rang and… I assume that one is closed too but haven’t driven by to verify. I miss my Waffle Boats…

We went to the Moon for brunch the morning after our big shindig of a wedding! Oh yum! Obviously, we were all nursing our individual needs of sore bones, muscles, and maybe even brains! We reserved the back room which holds up to 25. They took the reservation a week in advance which was awesome! The morning of we were promptly seated and everyone was given drinks. Once we ordered it took a while to receive the food and eventually the checks. These things happen though with large groups. That’s the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5! Our server even predicted that we would be prego soon… Uh, no! lol

Two of us for a late breakfast at about 9:45am. Even though I live less than a mile away, I had never been here. Although I have heard good and bad, my only experience was a couple of years ago trying to make reservations for 12 for a Christmas Eve breakfast. After a lot of passing the phone around they said no. This did not endear me to them. But I wanted to go since someone said she enjoyed her recent visit. Our experience started with trying to find parking. None to be found nearby, even though as we later found, the restaurant was only about 70% filled. In fact there were a couple of cars parked illegally across from the restaurant. But after circling once a spot opened. The restaurant is nice and the clientele is mostly 40 and above doing casual or business meals. Initial service was prompt and friendly. One of us had the scrambler special with chorizo, which was ordered with fruit not potatoes and an English muffin. The other a standard breakfast of poached eggs, bacon, potatoes and an English muffin. The meal took about 25 minutes to arrive, which is unacceptable, especially for a breakfast. The food was at best OK. The scrambler did not taste like it had chorizo and the tortillas mixed in were soft. I would think they would be added in the end to stay a bit crispy. The English muffins were the worst I have ever had. They were chewy. Everything else was just alright. The problem is that you get no value here. The price of these two meals with coffee was $ 23.55, which might be fine if the meals and service were outstanding, but certainly not in this case. I can have 4 better breakfasts for the same dollars nearby at many places. We will not be back here.

I work up the street from here, doing OT at my job today. My coworker and I were really hungry. I called in my order for pick up. They were pretty quick with my order I didn’t wait more than 5 minutes. The food was hot and fresh. Mile High Omelette — tasty yet dry, could’ve been alot better Breakfast potatoes: very delicious and nicely seasoned Calypso Omelette — tasty and flavorful Fruit salad was fresh and sweet. I like to give restaurants at least 2 tries before giving my final rating. I will try to sit and eat next time and try something different on the menu, seeing as this was just my first experience.

We keep coming back here because it is close to my husband’s work and there aren’t any other good breakfast/lunch options nearby. We keep trying to give it a second(or third or fourth or fifth) try but they can’t pull off a good quick meal. Pros: Food is good when it is properly prepared Good menu selection Cons: Food is often overcooked Kitchen is absurdly slow. Like a half hour for scrambled eggs or grilled cheese. Serving staff is frazzled and overly busy trying to tend to too many tables at once. Very crowded especially from noon to 1 on weekdays. Get there early. Staff just seems generally grumpy and disgruntled. Alas, we keep going back hoping for a stellar experience. Hasn’t happened yet. The Moondance on Ogden is a million times better.

Charming place with a hometown diner feel in the middle of posh Burr Ridge. Servers were nice and friendly. Seemed like there were some regulars there and they would yell«Good morning!» or «Good to see you!» from across the way. I thought it was cute. I ordered the Ham Pan, which had bits of ham, tomatoes, green bell pepper, potatoes, and cheese in a skillet topped with over easy eggs. Really yummy and extremely filling. I couldn’t finish the whole thing. What I could probably do is eat 10 of the english muffins they served it with. Not sure if they’re house made or what, but I thought they were delicious. The rest of the food we ordered was pretty good too. My mom ordered the Crabby Patty which is a crab patty topped with an eggs benedict. I got a taste of that it was good. Prices are average for a breakfast place, especially in Burr Ridge. Service was good. Food was good. All around great place. It will probably become a regular breakfast diner for us.

We loved the food. I got the biscuits & gravy with a side of sausage. And I can’t stop thinking about it! The prices were a little high, but for something I don’t do very often — I didn’t really mind. The restaurant was a little over crowded, but the good food helped me forget a little. And when you go, they’ll fill your coffee up in a to-go cup! They also gave me a new container of gravy to go with my left over biscuit :) I will definitely go back!

We went here for the first time and will return. It’s a typical little diner spot but the breakfast and lunch fare were outstanding. I was so tired of the same breakfast spots with average food but this place is much better. The blueberry pecan pancakes were delicious and filled with plump blueberries and lots of pecans. It came with a blueberry compote but was tasty and sweet on its own. My hubby had the avocado egg skillet and I was in heaven after taking a bite. Too good! Even my kids’ chicken fingers were not the typical greasy fingers. It tasted like it was home battered and really good! I stole their fingers and never do that. The service was attentive and this place gets busy as most do on a Sunday morning. I will be back for breakfast.

I love breakfast but I’m still undecided about how much i like this place. I’ve been here twice now with a friend since the location is great. The menu names and descriptions are great. The various coffee flavors are great. I’m not sure if i loved the food or not or if it lived up to the descriptions. Eggs are eggs after all.

My wife has been raving about Moondance since she went with her girlfriend for lunch a couple of weeks ago, so we decided to grab a bite there yesterday at lunchtime. The food was great! My wife had the Chicken Little — their version of the Chicken Salad sandwich, I went for the Burrito Club which was a unique take on the classic club sandwich, served on with avacado in a tortilla. The iced tea was fresh brewed and tasty. Our server took awhile to initially wait on us, but once he took our order, service was quick and attentive. There’s one thing that was a little annoying — the young lady who was the hostess and seated us was in a very bad mood. She was rude and dismissive, which is a shame because the rest of the experience was 5-star.

This place is unbelievably good! Diners to me in general are so so. You really don’t expect too much except somewhat greasy skillets and moderate service, but this place is really really fantastic. They offer different flavored coffee that is actually good. I had the hazelnut and it smelled fantastic. They also give you carafes so you never have to wait for someone to come around to refill your coffee and they give you some for the road. All breakfast places should offer that! Their menu is solid with an array of breakfast items. Most are your usual eggs, omelettes, skillets(panhandlers), but they have a few different choices that I have never seen before. Like their zucchini bread french toast, which I ordered. I have to say it’s easily one of the best french toasts that I have ever had. Kind of heavy, I could only eat half of my order, but so delicious. Service was great, the crowd is kind of awkward, varying from«truck driver» types that reek of smoke to your hinsdale central preps. I will definitely be back to try out their not so common items :)

Just OK. It seems like they have less kitchen capacity than seating capacity. It took a long time to get our food, although it was amusing people watching the Hinsdale /Burr Ridge crowd. The food was above average and the people very nice. I would give this aspect 4+ stars. But the long wait takes them down to a 3.

With a daily rotation of flavored coffee, an assortment of sweet and savory dishes and adorable wall paintings that spot rocks! I love that they give you an entire urn of coffee to refill as you please… on a cold day there is nothing better and you need only watch out that you don’t drink too much caffeine. I was tempted to order the trio of french toast, but instead indulged my sweet/savory combination with the eggnog french toast with cherry compote, two eggs and sausage. Perfect meal after cold run!

It’s pretty good for a diner! My breakfast was delicious! I loved their potatoes… yummmm! Service was good, only complaint is that we had to ask for water twice. It was packed on Sunday morning– go early or after 10:30am. There is really no waiting area either, people were crammed around the front door waiting for tables. Overall, solid. I’d pop back in if I was in the area.

Very cool breakfast place with select lunch items. Overall the ambiance is great, food has never let me down and servers are usually spot on. Thou I must say If I didn’t live near this place I probably wouldn’t seek it out. If yuou are in the(burr ridge, Willowbrook) area thou there’s no better place Id suggest you go between the hours of 6am-2pm. Pros. Take your coffee to go! Cons. Biscuits and Gravy are only available on the weekend.

Using Unilocal on my iPhone I was looking for a breakfast place to take my family close to our hotel. Since this was the closest and only available place to where we were staying I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be fantastic. The fruit was great. The specials read well on the menu and tasted better. Everyone in my family loved the food and the place so much that we went back the next morning. Did I mention that the service was very good as well! I wish that we had a place as good as this in Jersey.

This is a nice breakfast /brunch place in Burr Ridge. We stopped here today on a little road trip to have brunch. I had the Crabby Benny and Christopher had the eggs and hash. The Crabby Benny was basically eggs benedict with the addition of crab cakes to it. It was surrounded by avocado slices and a large portion of fresh fruit on the side. It was pretty darn good. I did add a bit of salt, but I am kind of a salt freak at times. Christopher’s hash and eggs were good, though the hash was Hormel. If they had made their own hash I might have gone up a star. The place is very clean and inviting and the service was excellent. It is a bit of a distance for us, but if you live in the southwest suburbs, it is a pleasant stop for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

If I could give this place 3.5 stars, I would for sure. Who has lukewarm water on the table! C’MONMAN! I went here to meet my Grandma for lunch. I went with a fairly large party, around 1230. I love omelets, so I decided to get _____Omelet. I thought it was funny on the menu they left a space blank to insert a name. I told the waiter, who sucked might I add, «I am going to have Pat’s Omelet» since my name was Pat. I laughed, but everyone else just smiled and probably thought, «Wow he has mental problems». I will preface this by saying I love pancakes. But, I DONOTLOVETWOPANCAKESFORAROUND $ 6. Most omelets come with fruit/potatoes and toast/pancakes. I ended up getting fruit, and I also added cottage cheese. My omelet came with toast, but I WANTEDCAKES Y’ALL! I ended up getting the 9 grain toast dry plus fruit. I also added cottage cheese! HELLYA I WASHUNGRY. I also got a carafe of coffee, nice chocolate overtone. My brother ordered extra apple sausage links, which he gave me two of, and I really liked that. I was satisfied with everything but my actual omelet which was jalapeño(supposed to be, didn’t see/taste any), green chiles, and avocado. Pretty tasteless if you ask me. The fruit, sausage, and toast took over, thank goodness. Really good toast. I would go back again, get something else, though. Maybe I will try the Westmont location. LOWERYOURPANCAKEPRICES!

I wish I lived within walking distance of the Moondance. Never mind that Burr Ridge makes Hinsdale look positively middle-class. Or that this«lifestyle center» is a little ridiculous. Because Moondance makes me super-happy. It’s a quirky, delightful diner with a menu that makes me want to try everything. We met my dad & stepmom for brunch here, and I was very impressed. First, a big olé pitcher of ice water to pour into your adorable little fiestaware glass. Second, a big carafe of delicious coffee, served with real cream. Real. Cream. I don’t know about you, but I am always wary of those little shots of half-and-half that may never get refrigerated. The menu is large and varied, with plenty of breakfast options plus salads, sandwiches and more. Service was friendly, nice waiter who was attentive but didn’t bug us. I ordered the veg out omelet(subbing bell peppers for the mushrooms); my husband got the Yacht Club(a club with avocado and cheddar), my dad, the Legal Alien(breakfast burrito with chorizo) and stepmom, the Clucker(chicken salad sandwich). My omelet was huuuge. It was cooked perfectly. The veggies were fresh and scattered throughout and it had tons of cheese. The hash browns(cubed home fry style) were AWESOME. Perfect. Just the way I want my taters, crispy on one side, flavorful and soft inside. Everyone else at the table raved over their food as well, and everyone cleaned their plate. There’s a second Moondance a bit closer to us(Westmont) and I’m thinking we’re going to have to visit that one as soon as we can… because I am smitten.
