It’s very tiny compared to pretty much every other beach around here. It’s closed half of the time due to bacteria. The beach is at the very end of a large farming area, so all of the pesticides and other farm goo runs down to the beach. It’s not water I’d want to go into. The whole area is cute though. There’s a bunch of little shops, a nice park area with pavillions and also a little area with amusement rides for small children. The view isn’t bad and on a clear day, you can see Toronto across the lake. They have a lot of themed parades and festivals which is nice for children too. It’s nice if you have kids or if you live in the area but otherwise, it’s not worth the drive. Go to Sunset or literally any other beach.

This Ol’ Cot of mine, slept here a thousand times… I wrote that song when I was about 1 year old. True story. Kind of. I’ve been to Olcott probably 20 times while I’ve been living in WNY. It’s one of my fave places. I have come here alone, with friends, with family, and especially with a special someone. I love it here. Too much, really. Rain or shine. Winter or summer. But mainly summer… haha. Olcott is a really lovely place. On a clear day, from the lake shore, you can see right across to Toronto and clearly make out the CN Tower and the rest of the skyline. It’s pretty magical. Not a lot of people know about Olcott so it’s usually surprisingly quiet. It’s a little out of the way and hard to get to, too. You basically head north from Lockport for what seems like 75 years, and then you eventually arrive. There are some cute little shops here too. They’ve tried to make it into a little mini-destination, a little holiday village. It’s overpriced but worth a look. It’s a nice little place to walk around. I recommend everyone visit Olcott, but especially on a warm day. You wouldn’t want to come here in the winter. Not unless you are very very very wrapped up and you like being exposed to the elements. Or being exposed in general. In which case you’ll probably end up in jail.
