Everyone who knows me knows I have a soft spot for local businesses and that I’m an outspoken advocate for patronizing the small businesses that support America. This place was no exception. Lucky’s prices, selection, and quality aren’t conducive to weekly grocery shopping — this is more of a convenience/sundries store than a grocer. But since moving to this area, we threw this place a bone whenever we could — a gallon of milk here, some last minute ingredients for a recipe there, ice cream whenever the craving hit. Better than easily stopping off at Giant Eagle on the way home right? In all my previous visits I never paid much mind to the disgruntled attitude of the guy who owns/runs this place, but tonight he was a real winner. For lack of a better term to describe the way he talked to me, what a jackass! It wasn’t the choice of words, rather the way he said them — all attitude, baby! I hate to say this but I got better service from the minimum-wage clerk talking on his cell phone at the BP quickie mart just up the road. In fact both gas stations at the 87⁄44 intersection just a mile up the road(and closer to Punderson for those camping there) have quickie marts with similar goods and less attitude. Sorry Pal. I might be a 24⁄7 sucker for small businesses but being an ass will trump that anyday!
