Worse place I have ever stayed at. Didn’t mind the price when we thought we were staying in a clean, warm room. Instead we got a disgusting room with black stuff that came out of the jets in the tub, a room that ran out of hot water after 5 minutes of showering, and one that smelled as well. After snowboarding all day, coming back to hot water is a necessity. This place was a waste of time and money and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Found a cheap motel 10 minutes away for a fraction of the price and it was cleaner and has unlimited amounts of hot water.

This place was probably nice ten years ago but not anymore. Where to start… Upon checking in I was asked to listen to a sales pitch sometime during my stay. I could get three days and two nights for free(timeshare scam, red alert!!). I politely declined, but the phone would ring in my room the next morning. The person on the other end«you were offered the free 3 day 2 days and you declined?» We arrived around 7 which was a shame because everything closes at 8, the arcade, outdoor pool, etc… The indoor pool was supposed to be open until 9 but that was closed for renovations. Now let’s talk about the room. There are no pics in their website for a reason, I did post a few pics of my own on here please take a look. The entire«villa» was dirty. The bathroom had a(rust?) stain in front of the sink, a wobbly toilet, and the recess trim was falling out of the ceiling. The sofa bed was too worn out to actually use and the couch was covered in numerous stains. The back patio area was covered in mildew stains, a thorough pressure washing would prob help. The element on the stove for the electric burner wouldn’t stay down. Good luck trying to cook anything on a burner that doesn’t sit anywhere close to level. This is the first place I’ve ever stayed that doesn’t give you at least one complimentary cup of coffee. They have a coffee maker and filters but no coffee. The room has basic cable but it’s very grainy. If you want wifi that’s going to cost you another $ 9.99 per day. That blew my mind, I’ve never been anywhere that charges for wifi. You can get it for free at McDonald’s why should I pay for it here? The neighbor on the wooden porch above us was using copious amounts of lighter fluid for his bbq. Couldn’t stand outside without feeling nauseated from the fumes. That’s ok because it was unnerving to see the flames shooting out like that on the wooden deck, didn’t really want to watch that anyway. The indoor pool was closed for renovations. The outdoor pool has a disturbing yellow/green tint to it. The playground, basketball, and tennis courts are all filthy and falling apart. These conditions would actually be ok if I was paying less than $ 20 a night at a campground but not $ 200+ a night at a «resort». They have a breakfast buffet there, usually $ 9.99 for adults. But this Father’s Day weekend only, $ 12.99. The flyer didn’t say that there was anything special about it, I’m pretty sure they just jacked up the price because it was Father’s Day. I checked out a day early for obvious reasons. Checkout time was 10am check in time is 4 pm. We checked out around 1, my fault. The sign posted in my room stated that there is a charge for checking out late but they didn’t refund me anything. I understand paying some sort of charge for a late checkout but had to pay in full for the next day, no credits for anything, that’s it, give us all your hard earned money. However, the ropes course attached to this place is fun. That is the only thing that brings this place up to one star.

Came out in the summer. The site does not show what you get. The welcome center is new and it looks like they are investing in the place. BUT. The condo we rented smelled like mold. There was no shampoo like you see in traditional places. The place was very dated. To top it. On the last night. A beeping was going on. The front desk said we can move you because maintenance doesn’t come in until 8am. Fortunately it was fixed. But you have to hope. Nothing goes bump in the night.

Always come to this snowtubing area. Lines are not long and it’s a fun fast way down on multiple lanes. You pay $ 30 for four hours of snowtubing which is a good price compared to other snowtubing areas where you can pay anywhere from 25 – 40 for only 2 – 3 hours. There are also snowtubing lanes for younger children. If you are staying at the hotel Fernwood you are going to pay less with a special family package. Dress warm and have fun!
