This bodega has gone downhill quickly, going from offering a dizzying selection of DVDs in the back area, to lacking some of the most simple staples, such as milk. While I’d prefer not to walk any further than I absolutely have to, Arias Grocery forced me to go at least a block away for most things. After a while, it was easier to go where I knew I would find any specific item rather than hunt around this poorly stocked store. Lately, however, it rarely even opens for business. Maybe a week ago, the security gate was halfway up, as if the owner was in there, but not actually working. Odd. In 2015, I’ve seen it open for perhaps two weeks total. What gives? The effect on the neighborhood is one of an abandoned feeling instead of the vibrant area it’s supposed to become. Fingers crossed that it’s updated or replaced soon!
