I visited Hi Hello after an evening at House of Yes. I needed something to sop up the alcohol in my stomach, so I ordered an Icelandic Hot Dog and a plate of Deviled Duck Eggs. Then I undid my good work with a can of Rekorderlig Pear Cider. The hot dog fell apart in my hand. Even toasted, the potato roll bun just couldn’t stand up to three generously applied sauces(ketchup, brown mustard and a caper remoulade.) Fortunately the combined taste was worth a little mess. The sausage itself had a definite lamb flavor and a firm texture. I even loved the gherkins, which aren’t usually my pickle of choice but cut through the other toppings nicely. I could have eaten two. On the other hand, two duck eggs were too many. Although the whites were firm and the yolks were creamy, their flavor was drowned in mustard. I couldn’t even taste the overly enthusiastic sprinkling of paprika on top. I’m glad I ordered an appetizer and a main dish. It left me with the feeling that overall, HH has potential! This seems like a good place for some late night food, a decent cross between a bar and a homey restaurant. And I do want to try some of the other inventive-looking sandwiches. But it’s also not the only restaurant in the area that’s open late, so it might take me a while to come back around.

I had very low expectations, but this place is killing it. Burger is great, the veggie burger is even better. Seriously overwhelmed by the hospitality of the wait staff. bravo.

Solid, inventive cocktails. Cheeseburger was perfect, not too big or small. The fried chicken sandwich is worth coming back for – five straight days in a row. Fries are cooked perfectly with right amount of salt. Space is well thought out, without being contrived. Bathrooms are top notch. Service outstanding.

What’s there not to love? Great location. Nice big windows to people watch. Killer service. Good booze selection. Oh and amazing sandwiches. Right now my two favorites are the veggie sloppy joe and the fish sandwich. As many other reviewers have noted these fries are so good they should be illegal. Tho when I’m trying to be good I’m never disappointed by the side salad. No more will I have to suffer through a bland and expensive sandwich from Hannah while I sit there stoned waiting next to five undercover cops and a bunch of drunk hipsters for a tasteless sandwich at that overpriced market. Do yourself a favor and opt for this place instead.

Might be the best lit place in Bushwick, where lighting is usually good in the first place. On top of that, the food is simple and good(the burger and chicken sandwich are serious standouts), the sound system perfect, the service friendly, and the vibe always chill. Perfect local spot but worth a visit too. Never had a bad time here.

This review is only about the cheeseburger, which is phenomenal. Love love love the burgers. I’ve had them twice and I must say it has been the best cheeseburgers I’ve had in a while. It comes with a side of fries or salad. I’ve gotten the salad twice and really enjoy it. The dressing is yummy, the salad has walnuts and apples which is a cool twist. I recommend it.

Hidden gem of Bushwick! Great spot for everything from lunch, dinner, coffee or a snack. Service is excellent and truly makes you feel at home and comfortable. I recommend trying whatever the special is of the day, guaranteed you won’t be disappointed!(With a side of fries!) yumm

I’ve been here a few times now, and it’s been pretty good so far. The dishes me and my friends have had been generally delicious whether it was for brunch or dinner. The porkchop was great, the burger was great, the goat hash was great, and the french toast was great. Their coffee is also really good. My friends said the cocktails were disappointing, but beers were good(I can’t drink alcohol). The grilled cheese was weird; it was more like a grilled mayo. Also, the goat hash does taste great, but it is kind of spicy, which the menu doesn’t say, but I think is an important detail for people with stomach problems. I love the decorations here. Ther service is also very pleasant.

Happy with the service that we received. Not happy with the cost of a basic cheese burger deluxe. The burger was good just not work over $ 10. The fries were bomb, I would go back for the fries. I’m not sure what it was but I felt more could have been added to my burger. How do you not have tomatoes? They offer either fries or a salad with your burger. Everything about this place was screaming yuppy. But as I said the people who served us are very sweet. It was pretty quite with the music at a normal level. I would recommend this place to a friend.

This has become my GOTO brunch spot. From the french toast to the Huevos Rancheros to the burger — everything is on point. They get their meat from my favorite butcher(Meat Hook) and I savor every bite. The hardest part about eating here is picking between so many good things on the menu. Love this place.

My first thought when I walked in here was that this place was overstylized. From the long pinkish bulbs lighting the place to mismatched wallpaper, the terrariums dotting every couple of feet of the restaurant, to the oversized mirrors on one wall, it kind of looked like an Urban Outfitters ad. It was still appealing, but trying too hard. I was here last night(Saturday) for a late night dinner with my boyfriend. There were a few people there but still plenty of seats open. I ordered a hot toddy with rum and the jerk chicken sandwich. My boyfriend ordered a beer and the big warm salad. Our waiter was friendly enough and took our orders quickly. Two minutes later, he came by and asked if he could take our orders! We thought he was totally high or something! We reminded him he had already taken them and repeated what we wanted. He seemed dazed and even though the place was loud, he didn’t make any effort to come closer to our seated level. We had to speak pretty loudly and repeat ourselves for him to hear. My hot toddy was good and the sandwich was really tasty! The cheddar cheese was interesting on jerk chicken, but it was a good combination and balanced out the zest of the chicken. It was a healthy size and nestled on top of a large serving of hot, crispy, and salty fries. I didn’t try my boyfriend’s salad but he said it was okay. The only issue was that he didn’t feel completely full when he was done. When we got up to leave, our waiter stared at us with eagle eyes! As soon as I picked up my purse, he ran over and cleared the table. He was wearing his jacket and looked ready to leave the restaurant for the night. We felt a bit rushed because of this. With the exception of our odd waiter, I thought the food was good! The prices aren’t bad at all either. $ 14 for the salad was overpriced, but the drinks and the sandwich were totally fine.

I’m a vegetarian, and this review is about the vegetarian options at Hi Hello. So meat eaters, feel free to move on. Vegetarians, you should also move on… to another restaurant(ohhhh!!). I was excited for this place to open, and finally got around to trying it a couple times this month. I was disappointed with both visits. While the restaurant looks nice and the service is good, the food is bland and expensive. I’ve tried three dishes — the breakfast burrito, egg sandwich, and veggie Joe. The breakfast burrito is fine. Totally unremarkable and rather flavorless, though the included salsa verde(also mostly flavorless) helps a bit. The egg sandwich and veggie Joe(which is somehow totally dry, unlike a sloppy joe) both taste primarily of raw onion, as the other ingredients(which are many, and fancy at that) are too bland to compete. The fries are very good. I will give Hi Hello that. But in all, this place is a good one to skip. You can do much better in your own kitchen with a fried egg, hot sauce and toast.

If you were to rewind the neighborhood back 5 years, this place would be the cutting edge of gentrification foodification. Great food prices, Morrissey on blast, and a good selection of drinks make for a perfect date or hangout spot. Get the cheeseburger and profit.

This place might be better than I’m giving it credit for — I have heard their sandwiches are awesome. I’m going strictly off the burger. It was a decent burger, but not AMAZING, like I had heard. It has a really distinct flavor, not sure if it’s dry aged or just super grass fed or what, and some people might dig that. To me it resembles«funk». The fries were delicious though, and I’m not usually a big fry person. The bartender recommended a beer for me which was delicious, but I was a bit surprised when I got the check and saw it was nine dollars. But that’s my fault for not looking at the price. Music was good, they were playing oldies, which was exactly what I wanted to be hearing at the time. I’ll go again and try something different, maybe that will bump it up a star or two…

I was looking for a chill, but not boring spot to grab a late night bite and this place delivered! It’s just a small bar with a few wooden tables and metal chairs. The place is cozy and has a warmth from the candles. They had some fun new wave, surf and punk songs to bring energy. Staff was friendly and at tentative. Swiftly got our food and drink. We split a few small plates rather than the big sandwiches. The Icelandic hotdog was good. The duck sausage was unique and wasn’t as fatty as pork, however the toppings and potato roll were disappointing. The espagnola is kind of like a root vegetable frittata. Sliced potatoes and beets are stacked up and held together with masa corn flour, hence the«tortilla» in the name. This dish was comforting with weighing you down. Like a fancy potato salad. The sweetness of the beets went nicely with the nutmeg in the seasoning and the tangy marsala mayo. It was served a little cold. Mizuna salad was minimal but tasty and refreshing. Greens, peas and shallots with a basic olive oil dressing. I was happy to find a place that served late night fare other than nachos and heavy fried foods.

So far so good, got locked out of my house and had a couple glasses of wine while I wait. The side salad is great, the carpaccio the bomb. Prices are decent. More than I could say for the last 8 places that were here prior. All jokes aside, pretty chill. I love the music they played. Intimate, convenient. I think it’s pretty chill, I’d be back for a real meal soon. I hope they survive cause I think this location is cursed. It’s fine though they got the lucky horse shoe in the door.
