Awesome place with pretty great traditional donuts. We were staying in Standish for a week at Sebago Lake and were hankering for some donuts. The Donut Hole did the trick. They had a great flavor selection, a very nice woman at the counter who was willing to answer our questions, and the prices were cheap. We bought 1 ½ dozen donuts, which got demolished within a few minutes of returning to camp. The plain glazed donut was the standout– the best I’ve ever had. Excellent crunchy glazed outer, soft cakey inner. SOGOOD! Highly recommended if you are in the Sebago area and don’t want to drive all the way to Portland for some Holy Donuts.

As a business in the 21st century, – especially a coffee shop – you should not require your guests to make a minimum purchase in order to use a credit/or debit card. It is simply not customer focused service. I walked in and walked straight out after seeing the sign for a $ 5 minimum. When I go to a coffee shop by myself, I usually don’t spend over $ 3 or $ 4 dollars.

Sometimes, in order to have the best of something, you don’t need to pay an arm or a leg to get it. Case in point: The Donut Hole. Although they don’t have a website, don’t let that fool you. Everything they make is homemade, and you can tell. Staying in Maine for school, and visiting my boyfriend, he has shown me this delicious café, where the service is great, the food is fresh, and the prices don’t break the bank. I mean, what more can a poor college student foodie ask for? I’m all for donuts, don’t get me wrong, but I’m pretty sure after having these donuts for breakfast the last few days, I’ll never be able to look at a donut the same way, especially if it’s from Dunkin Donuts or somewhere else. Not to mention, they also have breakfast sandwiches, pastries, coffee, and ice cream. They even have a drive through window, which just adds to the atmosphere. Maine has so much to offer, but I never knew, until now, that that could include such delicious, mouth watering donuts!

Stop in every year on vacation and it’s consistently good. Got flavored coffee on Tuesday afternoon and it was hot and fresh. Pastries were delicious and moist including chocolate coconut donut and carrot cake. No issue with service. Looking forward to next year!

While The Donut Hole certainly has a loyal following in the area, they really are the bottom of the bakery barrel. I’ve stopped in many times, and the service has always been very rude, the pastries taste greasy, the sandwiches, while passable, aren’t any better than what you’d get at numerous convenience stores along Route 202. Add to that the fact, while they carry an impressive number of flavored New England Coffee Roasters coffees, they are only available in the morning and early afternoon — stopping in during the evening commute, you can only get unflavored coffee, or one or two decaf flavors. As cheap as coffee is, I personally think that its extremely poor service to not offer to make a certain type of coffee for someone who stops in and requests it. Maybe I’m used to being able to order anything on the menu while a business is open, but no where does the Donut Hole state that they will only brew certain coffees until certain times. Save yourself the aggravation and find another place to stop!
