Loved the ambience of this place but I’ve had better tacos tons of places :(I would probably go again maybe once more and try a different taco. I believe I had the blackened fish. The chips were good at least!

Best Mexican restaurant for your money– the service is amazing there. You can also se your food being made. Finnaly, everything there is fresh. I recommend the steak burrito.

I’m hesitant to write a review because I don’t want to give away one of my best dining secrets. Fish taco is a hidden gem just outside the city limits that’s worth way more than the slightly longer drive to get there from DC. I love the signature fish taco the slaw is always fresh and their secret sauce brings it all together in a delicious fishy bliss. The guac is on point too!

Fish tacos as a food type are awesome. Fish Taco as a restaurant is equally as good. Grilled fish tacos are best(battered tends to get a bit soggy after a few minutes out of the fire). Ask for extra special sauce, it’s a lime crema blend.

Local place with a slightly misleading name — although they do have fish tacos as a featured item on their menu, they offer the whole range of tasty tacos and burritos. It’s nearby but it was open for quite a while before we finally stopped by to try it out. Honestly, I’m embarrassed to say it really was all about the name — while I live fish, I do *not* like fish tacos. Luckily, one of our kids had heard from friends that it was tasty — so the day we were(1) really hungry and(2) right there, happened. It’s not a super fancy place. Rather, it’s casual and comfy in a retail strip, so we stopped in. In a word: yum! Ingredients were fresh, service was friendly, and the meal was very tasty. And it’s close by! Double win! The family has a new place to catch a bite to eat, whether we sit in or take out. Note, however, parking at this location is annoying — better to park along the side street even if it means walking down a bit.

I don’t know what has been happening with their food lately. It used to be so good, lots of meat in every meal. The last 3 times I placed a order through the phone for a quick pick up, the burrito had almost no meat and TONS of rice, it wasn’t very filing without the protein. I miss Fish Taco’s old times. Will come back in the future to see if there is any improvement.

I try very hard not to give out 5-star reviews, but oh my Fish Taco was heavenly! I grew up in San Diego, so I’m always in search of good tacos, and Fish Taco knocked it out of the park. Delicious food. Enthusiastic and attentive service, eager to please. Very clean. Good prices. Land Shark on tap! LOVED our lunch here after a great bike ride on the C&O Canal. Excellent guacamole, and I actually felt like I got my money’s worth(volume to cost ratio at most other places leaves me feeling ripped off). I guarantee I’ll be going back to Fish Taco.

Food is alright, if you like overpriced fish tacos… Other than mediocre food, the service is pretty rough. Manager is not the nicest guy. He is more interested in pushing the quantity of food than delivering a decent experience. Hopefully this will prove to be a onetime experience. However, if the stress of a Wednesday night exposed the rough edges, I can’t imagine what a nice Saturday night will reveal.

This place definitely hits the spot after a morning of hiking! It’s nestled in a strip mall, and parking seemed like it could get a bit hectic. When we arrived, it was on the busier side, as there was a line to order, but I guess people were also leaving at that time, so we were able to snag a table outside. You order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. I think that they will seat you if you sit inside, but outside is first-come, first-serve seating. I ordered the blackened fish tacos, side of guac for the table to share, and a frozen margarita. The frozen marg was a bit on the bland side, but it was refreshing just to have something cold after being out in the sun all morning. The fish tacos were good. Great? Not quite, but solid. I thought they could have upped the seasoning(or spice level?) a bit in the sauce or the seasoning on the fish, but they also had bottle of hot sauce on the table, so I also could have added some of that to add additional umph. Next time, I’d like to try their signature crispy fish tacos.

Sacrifice the juice of several limes and add some cilantro to this ish and it would have been a fantastic meal. Because I’m super Asian, I went for the classic fish rice bowl. The fish sticks were fantastic — perfectly fried with a soft, flaky interior. Along with this is a smattering of black beans, sliced bell peppers, corn, and their«special sauce» which I opted out of because like Lia, I’m mayo adverse. The bowl as a whole was pretty bland as a whole but I was able to squeeze a few limes on top and it was almost perfect. I’d like to have also seen some more pico de gallo on top to make all of the flavors really shine. That being said all of the ingredients were perky fresh. Their chips come out hot which was appreciated but their guacamole could have also benefitted from additional lime and onion. It was also a bit too smooth for my taste. Definitely a cute quick spot to grab lunch in Cabin John!

So I want to start by saying i thoroughly enjoyed my lunch experience today. I wanted to give this rating a five-star but after reading the other reviews, I do have to agree, their service leaves something to be desired. It seems they are focused on the establishment and the food, and it stops there. I wanted to order three tacos and they said they don’t do a la carte??? Why? Its not like its not possible? I guess they don’t want to make more money… But the food tho… I’ve been wanting a good fish taco for a while and a coworker of mine kept harping a bout this place that is 30 minutes away(who wants to drive 30 minutes for lunch!?) But after a few months we decided to heed his advice and go. It was so worth it! I ordered the corn/cream corn on the cob concoction for an appetizer and the signature tacos with a salad for lunch. They were one of the best fish tacos i’ve ever had! They fish was generously sized, although the tacos themselves are not the biggest, they make up for that in taste. The corn on the cob appetizer was AMAZING!!! I seriously was going to order my entire lunch over again, so I could eat it tonight for dinner. I loved it that much. And one of my corworkers DID Actually do that :) Definitely will be back, but before then, please up the customer service, FTT!

Talk about a tony town. The unincorporated, census-designated place(whatever the f that means) of wealthy Cabin John has the second-nicest strip mall I’ve ever seen in my life(Wildwood Shopping Center being the first). Located in said complex is the succinctly, yet aptly, named Fish Taco. I really wasn’t prepared – I thought Cabin John was a rural area with not many people and that Fish Taco would be a tiny taqueria – maybe take-out only. However, I was wrong. The restaurant is very pretty, with beautiful lighting, an open space, and a patio. The menu reminds me of a higher-end Chipotle. You order at the counter and your items are brought to your table. I ordered the fish tacos(no sauce) and shared the guacamole with Sahar. We also each got a margarita. Thinner tortilla chips are used here. The guacamole was the creamiest, least onion-est version I’ve ever had. It was so good. But those fish tacos – wow. Definitely the best version I’ve had. The well-sized pieces of fish are fried to a crunchy perfection. I thought they might be bland with just the fish and slaw, but they were not. Rice and beans come as a side and those were tasty. The frozen margaritas are tangy and not too sweet, but there’s also no alcohol in them, so I wouldn’t waste my calories again. Which is too bad, because they were delicious. Staff was friendly, though my cashier didn’t know if there was mayo in the sauce(there is) and didn’t ask me if I wanted a different sauce. Luckily, staff interaction is minimal. I’d happily make my way out here again for those tacos.

If you are around this area, it’s a must! Who knew that in the middle of glen echo is where you would find great tacos and burrito rice bowls? The customer service is pretty good as well, everyone is pretty nice and friendly. I work in potomac village and man, are they lacking in the food world over there. This is close enough to stop by and pick up lunch. I have yet to have a bad meal here. I’ve gotten the steak salad, which was great, the beef brisket barbacoa quesadilla, yum!, the skirt steak rice bowl, delicious! It just gets better and better every time I go. Btw, they guacamole here is on point! along with the house chips and salsa but the guac, it’s just fantastic! It’s a little pricey but its well worth it. The parking is pretty crappy.

Came to this hidden taco spot with my mom for a late lunch. They have a bunch of taco options — including a few seafood ones and one veggie. We got the blackened fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. Each order gets two tacos. You can choose to get a salad or rice and beans as a side. We tried them both. Both of the taco types were very fresh and tasty. They weren’t spicy at all — which I personally liked, but they were a bit bland for my mom’s taste. As for the sides, the side salad was much better than the average side salad. I would recommend choosing that option. The rice and beans were decent, but nothing to write home about. Service was fast and the people working there were all very friendly. I do plan on returning to this place and I’m excited to try their other fish taco options.

Came here at 1pm on a Saturday with group of 8 — is fast food so no reservations needed and plenty of seating. Convenient place near the Billy Goat hiking trails(~5min drive away) Ambience/décor: — good amount of natural light in dining area! Some outdoor seating too but not much — Bench-style tables which were kept clean and organized Service: — friendly staff, though stuff is largely do-it-yourself with a station for getting your own water/utensils — no need to clean up tables after though, the staff there do it Food: — Chips/guac: solid chips! Thinner/crispier than Chipotle and less salty which I like. Guac is creamy and fresh but bland(not many onions/seasoning in it) — Steak quesadilla: 4 huge triangles. Could only eat half! Taste was decent but the cheese to meat/veggies ratio was too high for me; was probably 80% cheese! If you like a lot of cheese though this would be good. — Blackened fish and mango salad: delicious! Super fresh ingredients, great sear on the fish and mango was an awesome complement — Fish burrito: friends who ordered it really liked it but I personally thought there was too much rice when I took a bite. — Rice bowls: didn’t get to try myself, but general consensus of the table was that the chicken was the best! And that the pork carnitas were way too dry. Overall had decent fresh food but with dishes around $ 9 – 10(pre tax/tip) I’ll probably stick to Chipotle. Would come back for that salad though if I’m hiking near the area again!

I recently started working in the area and needed affordable good food close by. This place is a pretty good spot for that. I have had the signature fish and shrimp tacos along with their chicken and steak burritos. I definitely think the way to go is their tacos. The burritos are good, filling, and relatively cheaper to the tacos. Being from California I know my tacos! And these are pretty good.

Hubby and I stopped here after billy goat and enjoyed a sunny ‘linner’(my version of lunch/dinner). We sipped on frozen margaritas — which were honestly better than i expected, they weren’t overly tart, munched on chips and salsa(the salsa was exceptionally good IMO, just a little kick to it) and then feasted upon blackened fish and barbacoa tacos. I’m used to barbacoa being shredded and this was in chunks, but never fear, the flavor was on point and complemented by the pickled jalapeño. Really, really nice flavors. The tacos also come with rice and beans and for just shy of $ 40 we had a very satisfactory meal.

My friend and I had just finished hiking the Bill Goat trail and we were in need of some tasty and healthy food as a reward for our tough hike. She told me that her parents visited here a lot so I was interested to try out the menu. The parking is free. There are tables outside but you can only sit in front of the restaurant, you can’t sit at a table in front of another business. She ordered the avocado taco and the roasted corn. I had a shrimp salad and chicken tortilla soup. As soon as I ordered the shrimp salad, I realized that I wanted the mango and fish salad. It seems pretty normal to me for a change in your order. But as soon as I went back to the register the girl told me that she’d have to go back in the system and cancel the order and charge me for a new one. It would have been awesome if she was a little more friendly and said no problem and took care of the change. But no change was made. The shrimp salad was good. I would not order the chicken tortilla soup again. I asked for a cup and the girl who took my order never said it only comes in a bowl. So, I had my soup in a giant bowl and it comes with dark meat only. I only ended up eating the vegetables as I’m not a huge fan of dark meat. Lessons learned: — Make sure you know what you want because changing an order is impossible — Ask about ingredients, etc. before ordering I would go back for their salads.
