You can’t get more Southern than this! Wonderful food, great atmosphere. Came here for a quick lunch with some colleagues on a business trip in the area, looked like the best place in town. Found it thanks to Unilocal.Delicious chicken strips, everything was very fresh. Felt good after. Minus one star for the long wait(they messed up our order) and the wait brought this pregnant gal to tears. Worth the wait. I’d be back if I’m ever in the area again. FYI — beware of driving back to Tallahassee from here, we got caught in a speed trap and almost got a ticket.

I am from Tampa and I go to Mr Chicks every time I come up with my girlfriend to visit her family in cairo. I usually get the strips meal which is always good and the price is super cheap compared to places like chik-fil-a and much better. I’m the only person who doesn’t like Jason sauce but try it. The place is packed every time I go. It is definitely my favorite comfort food in cairo.

Ordered the Grilled Chicken salad through the drive thru tonight and got it home and it was awful, chicken tasted like it just came out of the freezer, and it had no taste whatsoever, so disappointed I was really looking forward to a good supper, had to throw it out and do without supper tonight I wasted $ 7.00

How quickly can you say: FOODGASM! Heading back home from FL with the parentals, I opted to stop here for dinner on a Saturday night before Mother’s Day. The ambiance of this place reminded me of a Cracker Barrel – old vintage décor all around, very SOUTHERN& family friendly. The patrons were diverse, from jeans, boots, cowboy hats, to shorts, flip flops, and sunglasses. The service was EXCEPTIONAL! The food was ABSOLUTELYAMAZING! I had a grilled grouper & coleslaw sandwich, which came on a sweet roll – like King’s Hawaiian bread. My parents both got fried catfish, fries, and coleslaw. All of the fish filets were HUGE, not those dinky fingers you typically get. The catfish was comparable to the filets at Holiday Lodge on Sardis Lake! The coleslaw was a little on the sweet side, just the way I love it! On our way out, I decided to try some of their lemonade, because it was in a huge bin sitting on the counter with fresh lemons on top of it. OHMYGOSH!!! YUMMIYUMMIYUMMI! It was so refreshing! It tasted like the real thing, although I didn’t ask if it was. I will definitely stop here again if I am ever in the area. I didn’t save room for dessert, but I would have loved to try that banana pudding. I’m sure it was homemade! As a side note, I met a couple in the parking lot who I stopped to ask about all of the 1940s/1950s automobiles I had seen driving by and in the parking lot. They told me that the owner of Mr. Chicks started a car show and had an automobile museum behind the restaurant that people could tour – I think for FREE! The car show was every Mother’s Day weekend. Seriously, this just added to the awesomeness of this place!

Amazing! A buddy in Atlanta told me about this place before I ever came to Cairo and after eating here I know, it’s great! Good country comfort food. The chicken strips are delicious and the sauces are great. They even make their own homemade bluecheese sauce. The staff is so nice, I told them it was my first time here and they gave me fried okra for free. Definitely come here if you’re in the area.

Mr. Chicks has never had a review despite the fact that probably thousands of meals have been here each month for years and years. They serve great Southern fried chicken and fried shrimp and fried grouper with lots of sweet tea or refreshing cold lemonade. Good sides of fries or slaw. It has a quick walk up service, a drive thru service, and table seating. Worth a stop when you are driving on US84. Gizzard aficionados cluck about Mr. Chicks. Feathers fly when people debate white or dark chicken. No fowl language here. Lots of friendly folks serving and dining. Lots of room for parking. Has drive thru as well. Mr. Chicks Pun Q: Why does a chicken coop have two doors? A: Because if had four doors it would be a chicken sedan
