Thought I had found my go to store for my self and kids’ gifts until several things that I had bought pilled badly and started to fall apart after a few washings. And even more disappointing, I paid regular price, only to return the following day to look for lost sunglasses and saw what I had bought was now 50% off. Another store customer(who was also returning merchandise) told me this is the owner’s way of operating. She buys cheap clothes at some Chinese place downtown, increases the price by a zillion percent and then has a clearance sale practically ever other day. I guess that isn’t working cause she told me they are closing this store(3 others have closed) and selling the same stuff on Amazon for even cheaper. Back to the drawing board!

I take my daughter here for some of her clothes — mostly to pick up graphic Ts and some shorts. Even if we don’t find something that day, they have a little candy section that she loves to pick out an item or two from. The staff is very friendly and gets an A+ for service. Several times during the year, they have a 50% off sale which is very«popular» with the locals. It’s a nice boutique store for tweens and under. Would be nice if they carried True Religions, so I didn’t have to trudge all over LA to find them for my kid.

Popular was very… er… popular a couple years ago amongst my friends. Whether we grew out of the clothing they offer there or what, it has seemed to go downhill for me. I’m perfectly okay with paying high prices for quality clothing(which can be found at neighboring boutiques, like Magnolia). But Popular seems to take average clothing and hike up the prices to try to make a profit. I wouldn’t make a trip to Calabasas just for Popular.
