Their fries… their fries are the best I’ve ever had! My sons ask for them all the time. In fact, my 3.5 year old complains that other restaurants don’t have the same ones! We sometimes go just for a few side orders of fries with some juice, because why not? My obsession is the Mediterranean Salad. I’m vegan, so I order this every time. And I practically lick the dish every time too — what IS that dressing?! It’s so good. Order it, you won’t be disappointed!

Only had breakfast here but have been here over 20 times. Food Is very good and prices are more reasonable than the pankcake house down the block. Always the same waitresses which i like and their very good.

This place is a classic NJ diner — came here a few days ago for brunch with some family. They were super crowded on a Monday morning(just to give you an idea how popular this place is). We didn’t have to wait long for a table and the service was on point. Highly recommend their omelets! Their potatoes are a little greasy but still good. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Will definitely be back.

Breakfast was decent on my first visit here, but we found that the booth we sat in wasn’t large enough for 4 adults to sit and eat comfortably, and the table wasn’t level. These things matter… Otherwise, it was pretty standard diner breakfast fare served by a friendly server. No one complained about their meals…

I don’t go to diners for seafood, steaks, meatloaf, triple decker sandwiches or mile high pies. For me, there is only one meal to be had-Lox and onion omelette, well done home fries and rye toast with a good cup of coffee. I’ve had this very same meal at dozens of diners throughout New Jersey. From the horrifically bad to mighty fine. Had not been to this diner since my single days twenty plus years ago when I lived down the street. Great place. Great server. Five star omelette. Hash brown were excellent. Full of sauted onion which I really like. Only downside was the rye toast was just mediocre. We’ll be back soon.

The ladies here are so rude. I arrived early to go to breakfast with my mother and the hostess would not let me sit down, even though there were plenty of tables open. Ridiculous.

Have eaten here several times over the past year as a friends’ daughter is a college student at Caldwell University. We’ve had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and have always found it to be delicious. The restaurant is always clean, the food is always delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive. Give this diner a try, you certainly won’t be disappointed.

This place is a classic NJ diner. Open late, huge menu with a lot of variety. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. The wait on a Sunday morning at 8am was very reasonable.

Parking sucks and owners are miserable. Can’t sit you without entire party present, even if your husband/wife is parking the car. How about getting some new veggies other than the dirty corn or broccoli. 20 other diners in the area, all happy to please the customer.

I’ve come here for breakfast and dinner and both times food was really good. I got eggs over easy which isn’t hard to mess up and i substituted their home fries for french fries. My boyfriend told me there home fries aren’t the best. I am very picky about french fries and I thought they were cooked just perfect and they were crispy like I like them. The service was really friendly and our waitress was really nice. Good place to go if you are in a rush, they seat you quickly, take your order and the food came very quickly. When I went for dinner, I had disco fries and they were good … same typical disco fries you would get at any diner. The main reason I gave it a 3 was because they don’t stay open late. There are a couple of bars that are around the diner and a college right up the street and when your drinking and leave the bar, it would be the perfect spot to walk to and get food. I don’t know why they would close so early … I’m sure they would make a killing if they stayed open. Also, the food is just good, nothing special or to brag about.

Not a fan. They have no gf options, the owners seem to have attitudes and the wait can be long at times because the older generation folks pack in there for inexpensive meals. Even when I wasent gf I wasent a huge fan. I once had a good Taylor ham and cheese sandwich here but I mean who can mess that up. The bathrooms are clean tho and the servers are pretty nice.

Staff is not the friendliest. Portions are pretty big and food is always satisfactory. Location always seems to be clean and has a good amount of costumers. Nicely located in the heart of Bloomfield Ave

Had breakfast/lunch here recently. The place is small, but nice. The food is good, better than other diners. I had the grilled chicken and avocado panini — ingredients tasted fresh and more importantly the chicken did not seem pre cooked or hard as a rock(yes other diners do this and it ruins any dish with grilled chicken). I tried some of my boyfriends omelette and sausage — both were great! Service was fairly quick. Overall definitely a place I would go to again.

They have pretty good food. I was impressed that their main dishes were surprisingly good. So, they’re doing a pretty good job with breakfast and non-traditional diner fare. The service was just so-so. They seated us promptly and took our orders in a timely fashion. However, I had to track servers down far too often to get a refill on water or to get an extra utensil, etc. Sure, they have a salad bar, but it was nothing special whatsoever. It had just the very basic ingredients and dressing. The prices are fair. Bottom line, it’s a decent enough NJ diner that’s not doing anything truly special to distinguish itself from the crowd, though they’re doing as good a job as any, and you could certainly do worse. FYI, there is plenty of parking, but the lot is WAY towards the rear of the restaurant. You may want to drop people off by the door and go find a spot. It’s a bit of a longer walk, especially in inclement weather.

Food is good but I’m on a MISSION for great service. Busy establishment, true indeed, however, it is important to remember to greet all customers as the maître’d … Even those who don’t frequent normally. I wasn’t even offered a glass of water. I’d say that’s diners for you but no, some of the BESTSERVICE I’ve had was from diners in and around my neighborhood.

Decent diner. Waitress knew the answers to all our questions on the spot. Which means she is very knowledgeable about the diner and the food. Sandwich was kind of small. I had the chicken salad club. No fries with it, they come separately. Had to wait at 1pm on a Saturday, which is not that unusual and it is a small place. Iced tea didn’t taste too good. Service was very good. Prices and value were good

I’ve been trying different diners throughout the area and came across this one. I always order the complete dinner entrees which come with the drink, salad, soup, entrée, and dessert. First of, the small buffet style salad bar — it might seem like you’re typical small salad bar BUT they have this one raisin pasta salad that is SOGOOD(definitely try it!). You also have different options for soup — I always choose the chicken noodle(I don’t remember the other options –sorry!). As for the entrée, my go-to is always the grilled chicken breast with sides of baked potato and steamed broccoli. The first time I went there I was really surprised with all the food that was included. You also have a wide range of desserts to choose from. The price for this complete dinner entrée was $ 12.95 — the other entrees vary in prices.

Jersey Diners… kind of the base of the pyramid for places to eat in our state, but that base is an important staple to all of us here in Jersey. Seems so simple-easy to make meals, decent portions, not too expensive, and have the basics — good breakfast food, good burgers and fries and soup, good sandwiches, and good dinner food. Voila’ We stopped at the Caldwell Diner recently and it was a pretty solid effort. I’m a stickler for good service and from the second we walked through the door we were treated well. We went for breakfast and didn’t get anything too fancy… my son got pancaked and crispy bacon; I got a ham, spinach and cheddar omelet; and my wife got an egg-white omelet with feta, spinach, and ham. Food was great, service was fast and friendly, and the price was eggcelent(ok, that was corny). Anyway, as I’ve said before, the best compliment I can give is a return visit… and we will be back.

We’ve come here after a day’s work at Rock n Joe’s across the street on Sunday nights(around 8pm). It’s never crowded at this time. The food is actually pretty good here for diner food. I’ve gotten the Greek salad, disco fries, and cottage pie(which is kind of like shepherd’s pie) and have never been disappointed. They also have a salad bar which I never noticed before. The wait staff is very nice and always friendly.
