Central Self Storage

I did a lot of research looking into different moving company’s and options for moving my mom from Caldwell, ID to the San Diego area. Penske ended up being the most cost effective company to go with. My fiancé and I drove from San Diego to Caldwell and were on a very tight window of time to pack, load and move my mom to California. We got into town earlier than expected and was able to pick up the truck earlier than our scheduled pick up time. We thought it would be an easy process, going in, paying for the truck, signing paperwork… NOT. The one and only person working at the facility had no idea how to work the computer or rent out the truck. We ended up leaving to go run errands to allow him time to figure out what he was doing. About an hour later when we returned, he still had no idea how to rent to rent the truck to us. After awhile we all thought he figured it out. He took us outside to show us the truck and finish the paperwork. We knew the truck and the tow dolly he was showing us was the wrong ones and told him that, but he was positive we were mistaken. We eventually left with what he said was correct according to his records. About 3 hours or so later we get a phone call from him asking if we had his paperwork. I couldn’t answer the question cause my fiancé had the truck. I then got a call from corporate saying we needed to go back, that there was a glitch in their system and the credit card didn’t go through. We noticed he gave us someone elses paperwork. The man from corporate promised to compensate us for our time, travel, and the hassle.
Once we got there, we were happy to find a man named Tyson who corrected the error. He was able to take some money off and throw in some extra moving blankets. The experience was very frustrating and time consuming and set us back on the already tight schedule we had. Corporate should have never left the new bee alone and should have made it a priority to train him before throwing him into something that was foreign to him. This experience unfortunately made the move start off rocky and more stressful.
