Amazing! Loved the food, the service and the ambience. The«SEAFOODSOPRA» was to die for! And to end the night right, the homemade nuttela ravioli was a unique delight! Cant wait to return!

This was a firm 4, service was great, the staff seemed to be enjoying their work and genuine in their desire for us to have a good experience. We had 3 appetizers and it was plenty of food. The gnocchi, polenta and scallops. All were well executed. The gnocchi and scallops both had depth in their flavors. Might be the best scallops I have ever had. Don’t be turned off by the trip up the stairs, keep going, sit down and enjoy! Oh and the waffle/pistachio ice cream was delicious too.

My husband and I went here last week on Date Night. First off, can’t beat BYOB. The charm of the restaurant(located on the 2nd floor) is one you would find only venturing to the country like flemington or new hope. So I love that we have a place like this right in town. The menu is small, which we like. For appetizers, we got the fried polenta, which was delicious — more for the short ribs that came on top(not enough) and the special that night of meatballs. Two huge homemade meatballs in sauce with a tiny palette of ricotta. The meatballs were cooked perfectly and paired wonderfully with the ricotta. For entrees we got the stuffed pork chop and raw tuna special. Both dishes were very great tasting, highlights being the sauce on the tuna and the side of potatoes that were cooked to perfection. The pork chop was just all around amazing. every bite was as good as the last and we were sad when it was all gone! Would recommend a night out here, good for family, date and groups!

Absolutely amazing. I am super picky and nothing fell short of delicious here. Authentic tastes with perfect seasoning combinations. Staff was super friendly and attentive as well! Favorite apps were the Mussels/Clams(sauce was delicious), Seared Scallops with risotto and pesto(didn’t try the risotto, but my family said it was amazing) and the Seared Tuna special. The Seared Tuna was over arugula with some sort of aioli atop that was delicious. The Parmesan Truffle Potatoes were one of my favorite things I’ve eaten recently — and I don’t even eat cheese!!! I would come back just for these. Next time, I’ll definitely get the tuna rare as suggested though(medium was a tad dry, but my fault for asking for it). Overall, 99⁄100 stars. Go!!!

A nice change on some classic dishes. Nice ambiance for adult dining but not really a family atmosphere. BYOB, which is nice. Great service and reasonably priced.

Really like the atmosphere and staff. extremely warm and friendly. But the menu reads like another cookie cutter standard NJ Italian joint with little or no inspiration. The salads are large, overdressed and pretty tasteless. The restaurant must have investment stock in garlic futures because the amount used in the entrees of pastas, veggies-especially broccoli rabe– and chicken overwhelms your palate. It’s a shame but unless they ratchet up the kitchen and lighten up the heavy handedness on the dishes this lovely spot has not too bright a future.

After hearing a lot of buzz about this place at work, I was finally able to get around to coming here with my wife. Needless to say it certainly lives up to all the hype. I would comfortable saying that this is the best place on Bloomfield ave. Everything was excellent, wait service was impeccable(Daniel may have been our server’s name), the scallops app was fresh and flavorful. As for entrees I ordered the Red Snapper special which was cooked to perfection in a great white wine sauce with mussels and clams, I wish I had a picture because my description does not give the chef enough credit in his clearly passionate presentation. My wife ordered the Orecchiette with Broccoli Rob & sausage, she said it was delicious with strong balanced flavor, I tried a piece of her sausage and let me tell you, it was to die for! To finish off the meal we shared a slice of the flour-less chocolate cake, when I tell you it was one of the best desserts I have ever ordered, believe me. absolutely fantastic. Overall: Classy, intimate atmosphere with a friendly, well-trained wait staff, talented chef and kitchen staff. I look forward to coming here with friends and co-workers.

Went here for an early dinner yesterday. We were the first ones there. Their menu is limited, but I turned that into a good thing by getting out of my comfort zone and ordering something different. I seldom — if ever — eat chicken, but I ordered a chicken dish from their specials list. It was chicken with prosciutto, eggplant, tomato in a delicious sauce. I liked it. I also like Portobello mushrooms, but am not such a fan of crab cakes. But they had an appetizer of Portobello stuffed with crab cake which I ordered and liked. Another reviewer said that they are too quick to clear away the table after each course. I agree. If a person eats a little slower that the others, they should not be made uncomfortable by having the table cleared while they are still eating. The place is easy to pass by. It is on the second floor over another business and only a small awning lets you know that a restaurant is there. I missed not seeing any veal dishes on the menu. When I asked why, they said it was too expensive. This is only the second restaurant that I have been to that has no veal on the menu. The first one went out of business. Wish this restaurant success. It deserves it. But also wish that they put veal on the menu.

Wow, a great new place in Caldwell. We went there last night(10−13−15) for the Tuesday night sunday gravy special. It was over the top delicious! My husband waned to try a different dish, so we shared his chicken/sausage along with my Sunday gravy. Both were exceptional. I would like to go back every Tuesday. The staff was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We were too full for dessert even though we had skipped appetizers and just split a salad ahead, but I would have liked to go back later for the dessert special of the night. I hope the Caldwell community embraces this slightly hard to find restaurant. It is a great, great place to host a party(I have had several parties there under previous ownerships) and is part of what makes Caldwell a great foodie town!

Called for reservations late Friday night and they were very accommodating, even though we were the last group in restaurant. They did not rush us at all. For the appetizers, we ordered the special meatball appetizer which was served with a side of ricotta and the muscles… both were exceptional with the broth from the muscles absolutely tasty! We dunked bread until we got to the bottom of the bowl. The main courses were delicious. The stuffed pork chop was fabulous as well as the salmon. Both cooked to perfection. We ordered the salted peanut butter tartufo as well as Pistachio ice cream. A lovely end to a great meal. We will certainly be back!!!

Visited Di Sopra last night two couples had a Rez. Seated promptly. Dining room very pretty in a simplistic way. Four of us split two appetizers, meatball special and antipasto. Both were good. Menu says figs on antipasto however it was fennel slices not figs that were on the plate with the mini mozzarella balls tomatoes roasted peppers and prosciutto. Entrees all looked tasty. I chose the chicken Milanese and was pleasantly surprised at the twist of red sauce and Gorgonzola cheese that covered it. Other entrees at our table were shrimp over farro which had a sweetness to it and was not a hit as well as the red snapper dish that was served in a bowl with delish broth and clams. The fourth was a chicken dish similar to Marsala with light brown sauce and mushrooms and looked tasty. Pumpkin cheesecake at the end was just enough sweetness to cap off meal with whipped cream topped espresso. Never had my espresso that way. Message to owner You have a great place there truly a find. Good luck with it. I will be adding it to my rotation. Message to wait staff Don’t be too quick to clear table. Appy platters and bread plates were taken away while we were still dunking. Empty entrée plates were being cleared around me while I was still eating my entrée. Table should NOT be touched until everyone is done.

My wife and I dined at Di Sopra last Friday night(9÷18÷15). From start to finish the staff was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. For an appetizer we shared the Pan-Fried Gnocchi, very tasty. Next we had a Caesar Salad which was the best I had in long time. For our main course I had the Orechiette with Broccoli Rabe, Sausage & Cannellini Beans the Orechiette was cooked just right and the Rabe was awesome. My wife ordered Chicken«Parmonzola», the combination of the parmesan and gorgonzola cheese was a taste treat. The restaurant itself was classy without being stuffy a great date night place. It is BYO, which is great! Looking forward to our next visit.

The sauce on the gnocchi appetizer was delicious… Red peppers with basil. Had basically the chicken marsala. Just perfect. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin cheesecake… pecans and carmel included. Nice, classy atmosphere without being overly fussy. Reasonably priced. Visit from chef John was a plus. Definitely a place to keep on your list and visit again and again.

What a wonderful addition to the dining experience in Caldwell NJ! The scallops with risotto appetizer should be an entre’, very delicious! The chicken parmanzola was excellent. This is a must go to new restaurant, you won’t regret it!

We went on a Friday night during their soft opening and enjoyed everything. They started us with warm bread with half a head of roasted garlic for spreading. We had the pan fried gnocchi for a starter which was cooked in a flavorful basil butter sauce. She had the crab meat tagliatelle which had hot peppers in a light shallot cream sauce — the pasta was excellent and clearly homemade and the dish had a nice kick. I had the chicken«parmonzola» which was a very interesting take on the classic dish — in addition to the mozzarella there was gorgonzola which was a great complement. The cutlet was huge, tender and fried to perfection. For dessert we shared the cannoli which was good also. The staff was attentive and service was quick but not rushed. Prices were less than expected, $ 51 for two entrees with a shared appetizer and dessert. The restaurant is a BYO so stop at one of the local liquor stores for a bottle of wine. They are on the second floor so you won’t see a storefront on Bloomfield ave, however there is an awning(which is tough to see when you’re walking down the block). They are between the jiu-jitsu place and Ringside. They just opened this week so I am excited to see what else they will offer and we’ll definitely be back.
