I’ve always thought the business concept of edible arrangements was outstanding, but until last week I never actually purchased anything from one of the stores. My daughter wanted to purchase an arrangement for one of her favorite teachers, who was retiring, so I told her I’d take care of it. Jumped online, found the specific location we needed in Caldwell(because I was picking it up and not having it delivered), placed my order for an early friday morning pickup… and then just crossed my fingers(I did get a confirmation email so I wasn’t too worried). When I arrived Friday morning and walked in the door I told the guy I was there to pick up an order and I was out the door about 60 seconds later. Ordering process was easy, pickup was easy. The arrangements are pretty pricey, but my daughter was very happy with the results… and it was a nice send off for her teacher.

Came here on short notice to get an arrangement for my boss. I came at a perfect time because he was in the middle of making a basket. Only needed to wait five minutes then I was out of there quickly. Vey nice guy who helped me out too.

I was invited to a pool party and called this location last minute to see if they could create a beautiful and flavorful arrangement. They created a spectacular and delicious bouquet. When I presented it at the party, it was gobbled up in 20 minutes. The fruit was so juicy and ripe even the kids went back for seconds. My only regret was not buying a bigger arrangement. Great job! I’d order again for other occasions.

I truly would like to give more stars but feel as though I cannot because of an essential detail that was over looked. Two weeks ago I had placed a last minute order for the«Delicious Fruit Design» in a small as a birthday gift for my mother. However, my mom is allergic to dark/milk/brown chocolate, BUT she is not allergic to white chocolate(weird I know). So I called the Nutley location(closest to me) to know if they had more options as far as white chocolate. The CSR(customer service rep.) told me they did not, but if she isn’t allergic to peanuts than to add the peanut butter dipped apples. Perfect. So I ended up placing the order on the website the night before delivery, quick, easy and painless. I added the green apples DIPPEDINPEANUTBUTTER, and strawberries dipped in white chocolate. So in the end, the only fruit that had dark chocolate were the bananas that were half dipped in white chocolate and the other half had dark. The order was delivered to my mother’s job early the next day(Saturday) on her birthday. It came from the closest location, Caldwell. I was out of town for the weekend on business and again this was last minute because the original place I was going to get her a gift from back fired. I got the call from mom that she loved the gift, it was great, delicious,…HOWEVER, she wanted to know why I added dark chocolate…,. I told her no, the only dark chocolate is on the bananas. She asked why the apples tasted chocolatey… now you guys got to understand, my mom is getting old. I hate to say it, but you know how people get old, the type of old when they don’t know what they’re talking about, are very forgetful, very repetitive, don’t always know what they’re doing… yeah that’s the state that my mom is in. So I told her to stay clear of the bananas, and not to worry about the apples, it’s peanut butter, she’ll be fine, just eat them and enjoy. Well, guess who was sick in bed their birthday weekend with hives and a fever… my mom. But why you may ask? Because those damn apples were dipped in DARKCHOCOLATE! How do I know? Because once I got home from my business trip, besides the dipped bananas there was a few dipped apples left. and let me tell you, it most definitely was not dipped in peanut butter alone. It almost tasted like it was a chocolate/peanut butter mix. Regardless, I had requested the PEANUTBUTTER dipped apples. I checked my confirmation email and no where did it say anything about chocolate/peanut dipped apples. So my mom was finally feeling better by Tuesday and was able to go back to her life, and I decided to call the Caldwell location, not to cause a scene, but definitely make it known that they messed up. God forbid my mom had a more serious allergic reaction to chocolate, I basically would have paid $ 130 for her death! So the CSR I spoke with was very nice, sweet toned, apologized, and told me this was something that needed to be brought up to their manager, and I could get a credit or work something out… I made it clear to her though, I was not looking for a credit of any type, although it would be nice, however my mother DID eat all the apples, so its not like they went to waste… they just made her über sick for her birthday weekend. The CSR told me that I’d be surprised how many people are allergic to chocolate and that this is very common. She said the manager was not currently in the office but would be in later that day, and told me she would have him reach out to me immediately because, «it really sucks what happened to your mother» as she said. So it’s been two weeks, and I still haven’t heard from anyone. Again, I never called to be confrontational, I love Edible Arrangement’s concept and gifts… however this is serious. My mom got sick for three days, with hives and a fever all because a small detail was over looked. I’m extremely disappointed. My mom though, she loved the basket and fruit, even though it really ruined her special day, she said it was still delicious and to just let it go. Which I’m doing, but again its hard, she’s allergic to chocolate, and I spent an extra money for her to enjoy more sweet flavored fruit that she could actually enjoy with out getting sick but did in fact get sick off of…, So this is the reason why I’m giving it just one star. If my mom wasn’t allergic to chocolate, and if they didn’t over look that request in the first place, no doubt 5 stars. But I take my mothers health very serious. If I do ever decide to send someone a gift from Edible Arrangements, it won’t be from this location, and it won’t be from their online service either. I’ll make sure I go into the location so I can speak to a customer service rep face-face.
