This is my first review on Unilocal and I feel the need to let everyone know about this company. I have been looking for an apartment for about a month now beginning in October 2014. A very good friend of mine recommended this company. I thought sure, why not, I’ll give them a try. My first experience with them, I called about an apartment in west caldwell for viewing. Sean, realtor that works there tells me that I can come anytime to the office before 5 pm today and someone will be able to show me the apartment since its only a few minutes walking distance. So i decided to take the 45 min drive to the office in west caldwell and arrived there around 3:50 pm. I walk to the office, its CLOSED. I call the office, no answer, left a message. Basically wasted a day off. I then found an apartment close by me in Nutley ran by the same group. I called for another viewing, I dealt with the same person, Sean, and gave him my info. He said that it should be no problem showing the apt. So ok, i scheduled to see the apt the same day. Since there were still tenants living in the apt I was interested in, Sean had to get an «ok» from the current tenants for me to see which I knew. So I waited most of the day for a call back. However, I received ZERO call back for 3 days. I finally call back and ask again, they say that they are still waiting for an «ok» from the tenants. What frustrates me most is the simple fact that they did not have the courtesy to call their customers back for updates. I scheduled an appointment for showing, and zero call backs or updates. Then a day later, Sean tells me that the apt I was interested in is no longer available. Frustrated, I left it at that. Last incidence, my same good friend was in their office and they told him that they had openings again at the Nutley apt I was interested in. Not wanting to deal with the same person, my friend recommended me to Anita. I call the very next day and ask for Anita, just to have me transferred to Sean. At this point I did not care much about the past since the apt i wanted was now available. BADMISTAKE. Same exact thing happens! I schedule to view the apt, NO call back. I call back the next day for another viewing, the apartments supervisor calls me back and tells me «Sorry but that apartment is no longer available. Someone has dropped off a deposit today.» My jaw drops and again extremely frustrated. If i knew this in advance, I would have put down a deposit myself. Now I’m back to nowhere. For a group that manages«luxurious» apartments, the office is ran very poorly and unprofessional. Horrible communication with there customers. I had a very bad experience with them.
