I don’t usually leave negative reviews, however, I believe that my experience was bad enough that I should share. I booked an appointment with the owner, Michelle, to have my roots touched up. She had colored my hair previously about 5 weeks before and even though she used too dark of a color she assured me that next time she would now know what color to use. It was my second visit to her salon. Michelle assured me that she knew exactly what to do this time to lighten my hair and color my grey. She foiled my hair with probably 80 foils and set me under the hot drier for a long time. As she rinsed my hair she kept saying how much she just loved this new color and she was sure I would as well. However, when she started to blow dry my hair it was a horrible mousy brown with weird platinum skunk like streaks. It was hideous. I could tell she thought the same as I didn’t even say anything and she was already telling me she would fix it. Again, she promised me she knew just what to do to fix the problem. Michelle dabbed on some color all over my roots and then proceeded to foil my hair all over again and then put me under the heated drier to process. After a long while she came back to rinse out the color. As she rinsed my hair she put condition in my hair and rinsed some more only this time she wasn’t saying how much she loved the color. She then asked me if I had plans when I left the shop. I told her that I was just going home so she told me that she would set me up with some really good conditioner on my hair and send me on my way. She said that the next morning I would just need to rinse and style as usual. I was embarrassed to walk out to my car like that and frustrated that after 5 long hours in her chair listening to her complain about having to mother her employees and how she works the system so that she doesn’t have to pay their taxes and other stories about how she was unjustly sued by people and how she«took care of them» …that I was now walking out with gooped up hair pulled back in a gloppy mess feeling completely drained from all the negativity… but that was FAR from the worst of it. About an hour later, to my horror, my hair began to poof out and get all crazy frizzy and dry. It was like barbie doll hair that was a white frizzy mess with bright reddish roots… certainly NOT the look I was going for. I’ve never fully understood exactly what people meant when they’d say someone fried their hair… until now. I’ve never seen any thing like it and was really concerned that my hair was going to fall out. I tried calling Michelle to find out what I should do but they were already closed. I decided to call back and leave her a message telling her what had happened to my hair and asked for a refund because I was going to have to go somewhere else and get some help with trying to repair my hair. At this point I didn’t trust her to «fix it» again! The next day she returned my call by leaving me a very rude message stating that she has no idea what I had done to my hair because when I had left her shop my hair was just fine. She said that she would have known if my hair had been fried or not before I left and that I must have done something to cause such damage to my hair. I believe that is why she didn’t blow out and style my hair and sent me home loaded up with conditioner instead. Michelle handled the situation very unprofessionally. She was especially upset that I’d ask for a REEEE-fund, as she put it, and said I’d have to talk to her husband about that because she was too busy with her clients to deal with me. I did not call her husband to ask again for a refund as Michelle made it clear that she did nothing wrong and that the damage was my fault and I didn’t want to be rudely spoken to once again. In the last 5 months I have found a reputable hair salon and have had multiple costly deep conditionings done on my hair to try to keep it from falling out. Thankfully my hair, over the last 5 months, has not all broken off at the root but it is still extremely damaged and dry with a lot of breakage even though I am protectively only washing and styling once a week. My recommendation is to steer clear of Michelle, the owner, at Simply Stylin Salon in Caldwell.

What a great place! Came in with my sister in law and our moms and some cousins(6 of us in total) and they were wonderful. When I called to make the appointments for 6 mani pedis they worked us right in and called to confirm with me too. We each got a complimentary drink and the sugar rub was amazing! My legs and hands feel like heaven! Such a great group of women too! Not close to home but if I am ever in town again I would come back in! Thanks so much for everything and working with us!
