I’ve lived in Idaho for almost 12 years and this is the first time I’ve gotten out for some Halloween fun. Some friends insisted I MUST go to Haunted World with them, so I did! My brain(and pocketbook) balked at first at a $ 21 entry fee.(no discount for age unless you are 5 and under). and we actually spent $ 4 more to ‘fast pass’ to the head of the line. My friends it was worth EVERYPENNY. The entry area is ablaze with activity. lights, sound, fog, flames and the occasional costumed creep or scary statue. BESURE and visit the honey bucket if you need to relieve yourself before you go in. the trek is a bit long, and it is possible you WILL have stuff scared out of you(heehee). The line for admission leads up to the ‘treat’ stand where snacks(even cup noodles if you need a hot nosh!) and drinks are sold. Admission gets you into into two attractions, Skullvaina and the Maze. It’s dark, it’s creepy, there as colored light, strobe lights, audio-animatronics and real live people who are dolled up and destined to jump out, menace and stalk you. RULESSTATE. you must not touch the props or the actors. and they cannot touch you. though an occasional brushing is possible depending on how/which way your fight or flight program takes you after a good scare. Moving through in a group is helpful, especially when some of the paths take you into VERY dark passages. Wear comfortable shoes and layers for warmth as the majority of the attraction takes place under the stars. I found myself wishing I had my gloves, it was a clear chilly October evening. There are inclines, declines and steps, there are chances you’ll bump into walls, things that dangle from ceilings and some parts that squeeze you(with soft materials). Because it is dark and the trails are natural, be prepared for brief moments of slippery footing. Be ready to duck, duckwalk and bend. Some told me they crawled, but I never found the need to(I’m 5’7 and 250). While you are in your own world of jumps and screams, it’s fun to hear other groups and their responses too. I had a great time at Haunted World, and look forward to doing it again in 2016! Happy Halloween!

My family and I went to Haunted World on a Saturday night, arriving around 645. It took about 5 minutes to purchase tickets, a little over $ 60 for the three if us, and get in line for the fast track at the Raven House. It was around 720 or so when we were allowed to start the experience. I can say from start to finish, around an hour or so for the three different areas, we had a lot of fun. Nothing crazy that would traumatize you or your kids for life, just a good time. As we were leaving around 830, the place was packed and the lines significantly longer. With any activity like this, you will get the privilege of encountering young people that should be accompanied by an adult that do not realize they are in public… or maybe they do. Overall good time, recommended!

This place is a great way to kick off your Halloween. I have been extremely spoiled with going to extreme scary places so this place didn’t get me very much but it was still a blast to go and very well done. It is also very long and not just a 15 minute house. It took about 45 minutes to walk through the whole thing which I love. Best place to go in the treasure valley.

I won two tickets to the Haunted World from the radio station 101.1. My teenage son, who has special needs, was so excited, having never been there before. We went tonight, arriving shortly after dusk(which is when they open) and joined the line to the entrance. After standing in line for over an hour, listening to the scary music and watching the mist and colored lights, we were really ready and excited by the time we got to the front of the line. We handed the ghoul our tickets and were told that we had to go stand in another line, turn in the tickets to get our hand stamped, then come back to the original line. So we go stand in another long line. Our reward for this was to be told by the snotty lady in the booth that, yes, we would have to go all the way back to the end of the original line with our now stamped hands. Now, this woman could have apologized, given us the fast track stamp so we wouldn’t have to go back and stand in line for another hour. Nowhere on our tickets did it say we had to turn in our tickets for a stamp. Nowhere on their website did it say this. Nowhere on the Haunted World grounds did it say this. There was no way to know this. But instead of saving the night for us, she said in a «I could give a crap less about you and your disabled son, go back and stand in the line you just literally stood in for over an hour» tone of voice and attitude. I thought this was a nice local family kind of place. But based on their attitudes, they could really care less. And honestly, the snotty ladies’ overdone makeup was really the scariest thing I observed in the place. I would not recommend this place and will tell everyone I know, and everyone I meet in the future, that this place sucks.
