Had a couple great IPA’s, good service and must say the beer exceeded my expectations. The brewery is located in a strip mall in a small town which is kinda weird, but overall a good experience with great tasting beer. I will definitely be back since they seem to brew great beers and thats most important.

While I like IPAs, I find their popularity trendy to a fault. I know too many shallow simpletons with room temperature IQs that either drink Bud Light or an IPA and nothing else. People who are so stupid, they don’t know who the current Vice President is or which country bombed Pearl Harbor. I like German beers and dark porters and stouts. This place is a powerhouse of milk stout beers. They have the milk stout genre nailed. I think this place is a rising star brewery for those of us who like dark beers and don’t fall into the mindless trend of only drinking IPAs. I can’t wait to visit again.

Good beer. Nice quiet atmosphere. A great place to get a beer and play some cards with your friends.

The beer here is very good. I would put it above the other small brewers in Grand Rapids. The Shady Side IPA, Citra Warrior, and milk stout are my favorites, and one of those are almost always on tap. What sets this place apart for me is the smaller size and the friendly staff. I love Founders, but going there sometimes feels like an ordeal. Fight for parking, fight for a table, wait in line for a beer… ugh. I can go to Railtown and always get a seat and its quiet and friendly. And the beer is very good.

They have a rotating beer selection, so there is always a nice amount of variety. There are a few bar snacks for purchase, but you’re also welcome to bring in your own food from elsewhere(since they don’t have a kitchen). I was able to mention the types of beers I like and they narrowed down the selection for me. Very much worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Little local brewery with a nice selection of beer, but no hard cider as of yet. Snacks are available but if you want food you can order pizza from across the street. The pizza was very nice, but sorry don’t know the name of the place. A friend ordered a flight if beer, which is a fun The owner was welcoming and attentive.

Glad I can check Railtown off my brewery bucket list and if I happen to be out this way again, I’ll stop by, but I’m not sure I will make a special trip out again for it. Beers weren’t bad by any means in fact I really liked Pow!, their take on coffee beer(I forget the name), and their milk stout when I shared a sampler with my friend. I ended up ordering a glass of the Pow! which I found to be somewhat similar to Founders Rubeus(my fav fruity beer ever!) The bartender was very knowledgeable and quick on his feet about what they offered even when my friend, who is more knowledgeable at beer than I, hit him with some over my head IBU beer questions. They do not offer food so this is essentially a tasting room, however, you can order from several local fast food and pizza places; some will deliver for free I was told. While being neat and tidy, the atmosphere didn’t wow me. My friend noted that there really wasn’t too much actual train related items in the tasting room. I was expecting them to define themselves with some train or rail décor, especially since their location in a small strip mall is ho-hum. I couldn’t seem to find a real website for them, but it looks like you can check their facebook page to get updates on what they have tapped.

My husband and I were told to check this place out, and we are so happy we did. We purchased the Groupon for the beer flight for 2 people and went on a Saturday afternoon. The doors open at 3pm, however, we were welcomed in around 2:45PM. Very small location in a strip mall in Dutton, Michigan. Looks are deceiving! The beer was impressive! We were big fans of the Peanut Butter Cocoa Time– such a unique and delicious beer. I also enjoyed the Oatmeal Stout and my husband enjoyed the Citra IPA. We enjoyed all the beers in our sampler and were a little disappointed we forgot to bring a growler with us(even thought they had many for sale). The only downside is the lack of snacks or food options. They have bags of peanuts, chips, and popcorn for sale, you can also order from a local delivery place if you are hungry. However, it is just more convenient to have food at the establishment. We were very happy with our experience at Railtown and hope to be back soon!

What a great craft brewery… where you would never expect to find one! Went for drinks after a family birthday party and had a wonderful time. They serve flights, so finding just what you love is easy. I like stouts, so I tried the oatmeal and the milk. Both were excellent. I settled on the milk stout as it had the faint hint of sweetness and rich flavor I’m always looking for. The atmosphere was truely friendly; a couple on motorcycles, a group nearby playing Jenga, families, friends… it’s nice. And, a nearby Pizza joint delivered dinner and took a credit card payment! I wish I didn’t live over 1,200 miles away; I’d be here all the time!

There were between 8 – 10 beers on tap at my first visit. I wouldn’t go as far as saying they are the best in Grand Rapids, however they are definitely better than a few others in the area. Especially for the price! I tried their Scotch ale which was very good and comparable to Founders, however there’s was around $ 5 compared to Founders that was $ 8. So, if you’re looking for good beer with reasonable pricing, this is the place to go! Also, There is the option of bringing dinner in! I came in with My sister /brother in law who were in town from Minneapolis. They had a few friends join so they could see them. It worked out perfect as we ordered a few pizzas from next door and played cards. Really good time. Really good location. I hope to spend more time here in the near future.

For a new brewery they have great selections and a casual atmosphere. Head and shoulders above other local start ups. Every single brew is flavorful and true to its category. On Our Way IPA had a full hoppy flavor and citrus finish, had to be my fav! I tried them all and there was not one that I didn’t like! Udderly Milk Stout is a creamy brew without being chewy or heavy. Can’t wait to go back! Join their Mug Club — great deal and sweet swag!
