If you haven’t been here your not missing much. dont see how this place stays in bizz. Went for first and last time. No salad selection no greens on any steam table. No joke got dry chicken in one pan and starches in the other 7. So bad I got a refund. Don’t see this place lasting very long and who’s ever managing labor cost on this place is lost and needs help.

I/we have been eating at this restaurant for some 20 years. We first went when it was Home Town Buffet. Very clean. Very nice staff. Food has always been top notch. Until last night. Worst dining experience EVER!!! They have lost our patronage. The worst part of it all… the«general manager» is the idiot that has caused this. Went with my daughter… I’ve has gastric bypass surgery so when food is tainted in any way, it affects me within some 15 minutes of eating. After paying the $ 14.99 price, I went through the salad bar. Seafood salad, romaine lettuce, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, black olives, ranch dressing… Jello, an orange slice, and a smile. I ate it and loved it. The seafood salad was delicious. Finished my plate in about 15 minutes and started not feeling so good. I excused myself and spent some time in the ladies room absolutely gut wrenching sick. It was definitely food poisoning. My entire body ached. Leaving the bathroom, I went straight to the office. The ladies looked very concerned. I told them what I’d just experienced and they immediately removed the seafood salad. I sat down, told my daughter I didn’t feel well, waitresses came to check on me… Very concerned. I thanked them and left. Sitting in my car, I started feeling better. Then I started thinking about it. My daughter only at her salad and a piece of pizza. I got nothing except sick. So I went back in and asked for a refund. A lady went to speak with the general manager. He would not come out and talk to me. She explained he said he made the salad himself and nothing was wrong with his food. I looked at the salad bar and holy rap, the salad was back out there… same one. She said that he told her to tell me I could not have been sick and he was not refunding anything. She apologized and I left… Very upset being called a liar. I called visa to complain and guess the heck what… They charged me $ 5 too much. My receipt has the right amount, visa shows another amount. So not only is the general manager calling me a liar, refusing to do anything about tainted food, he appears to have stolen from me. Yes, I have receipts and charges and will take it up with corporate. I don’t expect a refund. I don’t expect an apology. But I’ll be danged if I’m not going to hit social media and the health department with it. I was poisoned and management didn’t care. Don’t eat there. You may end up sick as well if they don’t fix the tainted food issue. I’m so upset. I’ve always loved this place!!!

1st. Time, we came for breakfast, and lunch on a Saturday, really liked. Plenty options and tasty food, compare to the other buffet in the area this one blows my mine.

I’m originally from San Diego and my brother has been living in Calexico for a while. When he recently moved out there he took us there a couple times. God damn the food is really nasty. I rather go to Mexicali and eat tacos. I mean in the parking lot is empty most of the time that must be a clue that the food ain’t good at all.

I come here to work once or twice a year. I used to go to the China Star or Hometown buffet, but they were closed. Everything was average. I went on a Thursday. The price was about $ 13 for dinner. Food– average Place — clean including the bathroom service — not bad .

One star over rates how bad the food was. When I saw only six cars in the parking lot I should have known not to eat here, but this used to be a good Hometown Buffet. The Mac n cheese had sat so long, it was so crusty on top. The spaghetti was dried to a crisp. The sautéed onions and sautéed mushrooms were so salty from the au jus having evaporated. So if you see there are less than ten cars in their parking lot, keep on driving.

Nice, neat, decent variety of food –owners are very visible and friendly. I don’t particularly like waiting for somebody to show up and carve the meat for me, or to serve me some carne asada or pollo asado — but for the price, I’ll take it.

Hey, it’s a buffet. All-you-can-eat, so go hungry. The food ain’t great — sort of what you’d expect, I guess. This place stays really busy on the weekends. Surprisingly so, given the low population in the area.
