Target Optical

The doctors are friendly and professional. The eyeglass selection is great and the prices are good too. But that isn’t enough to out weigh my dissatisfaction with the rest of the staff I’ve dealt with. One guy was unprofessional and immature, while during another visit, a very nice lady broke my glasses. No one ever returned my calls or replied to the email I sent. Something could have been done to address the problems and my family could of remained customers, if someone reached out to us. That was my original two star review… Since then, we have received a sincere apology from the manager and he fixed the glasses, provided a new case for them and was very professional. He also gave suggestions on the care and how to properly fit the glasses.

According to Carrie, one of the sales representatives, this is the largest Target Optical in the Nation. Yup, that’s right. In little ol’ California, MD; but don’t let that stop you from getting your eyes checked and glasses here. Although the selection of glasses are not as extensive as some places, the service is amazing. Dr. Kasmari was able to fit my eye dilation in last minute, which I really appreciated, and Carrie, Scott, and Mia are very considerate and helpful. Carrie went so far as fix my older pair of glasses (change out my nose pads and temple tips, and straighten them out) free of charge. These were old glasses that I have to wear while my new ones are getting fitted with new lenses. I did not purchase these glasses at Target. Both Carrie and Scott also walk me through the various options, given the two deals they offer and my insurance discount, to make sure I get the best deal I can. Finally, when you use your Target debit card, you get an extra 5% off.

Today was my first time visiting the Target Optical department and I must say I was a little reluctent due to it’s Target, what could they possibly know about eye care. Well, again Target is committed to competent employees with a focus of quality customer service. I was greeted immediately by a gentleman (sorry I did not get his name) who provided me with paperwork and my next steps. My wait time to see Dr. Heavner was mininum (not over an hour like another local optical provider) of 15 minutes. Dr. Heavner asked a lot of questions that I did not have the answers to because it has been over three years since I have been to an eye doctor. Nevertheless, he was able to determine which contact lens I was wearning and my trial pair is perfect; matching my needs. He was very patient given I did not have a lot of answers to his questions. As I was driving home, I was thinking to myself, I need to set a reminder in my calendar for my eye appointment next year. Shortly after returning home, I turned on my table to complete a Unilocal review, I had a email from Target with an appointment already set for next year. This is what you call dedication to excellence customer services. I highly recommend Target Optical and I hope they are able to keep Dr. Heavner.

Dr. Heavner is the best, he is so friendly and informative when giving his exams. He is really detailed and you caan tell that he loves what he does, he is engaged with you during your whole visit. He makes sure that you are being taken care of before and after your time there. Great service!
