On the Bounce is a little ramshackle but it’s a great place to spend an evening getting outdoor exercise and competing against friends or strangers. Originally started as an experiment, the playing surface, boards and netting were transplanted to this scrap of unused land a couple of years ago. The popularity of play made it a permanent feature but it’s the same infrastructure, holey goal nets and all, that they bought from the original pitch owners. You’ll find players young and old, male and female playing most week nights. Wednesday is usually girls nice and it’s fun to just watch. Call ahead to book court time because there’s no way to know who’s playing when. You can organize your friends or club to have ale the whole field and it’s just a few bucks each. There’s a small set of bleachers to watch, small clubhouse(a temporary building) and good floodlights in each corner. The playing surface is pretty level, sturdy and bump free so you can improve your skills or compete without fear of turning an ankle. There’s one place where it’s currently lifted but the rest is good. If you score in the Calimesa Blvd goal posts a non player here as the net is really full of holes.
