Amazing wine tour! We were treated incredibly well. The detail & attention paid to our visit was just insane and well worth the $ 75 per person fee. The hostess prepared a 4 course tasting menu including grilling steak– which these wines really needed. She made chicken pâté, local fig & honey plate and other dishes. Touring the 80 acre estate was a great deal of fun. The wines were simply outstanding. We went to Shafer wines after this tasting. We were deeply disappointed in the way they treated when compared to the incredibly warm, prepared and focused manner we were treated at Diamond Creek

Without question, this is our favorite winery tour of all time. Fortunately, my son is in the wine business, so we were fortunate enough to be able to get a reservation for a private tasting at $ 75 per person(the winery is not open to the general public). The tasting included not only current releases of their three normal cabs, but also two library releases of all three, as well, so we had a mini-vertical tasting of each. The only wine we were not able to taste was their Lake Vineyard. In addition to the incredible wines, which retail for $ 175+/bottle each, we were treated to some of the finest hors d’oeuvres we’ve been served, prepared by our fabulous hostess, Cidy Pedersoli. The winery offers one of the best views in all of Napa Valley, and the day we were there offered bright sunshine, making a bad photo impossible to take. The wines we tasted from the three vineyards(Gravelly Meadow, Red Rock Terrace and Volcanic Hill) are as good as any Cabernets we’ve tasted. The current releases are a little young, but the two older vintages showed the potential these wines have for aging, and they are spectacular.

Possibly the BEST tasting I’ve ever been to in California. Wow. This is super private, reservation-only, and expensive. But if you can swing it, hit this place for sure. Amazing wines, beautiful view, great tour of the vineyards, and a memorable experience. The food served with the wine(full lunch) was outstanding.

Charming place. You drive through the windy shaded single lane road and through this rustic gate all of the sudden you are in paradise. I believe it is an Invitation only vineyard. Went here for a special aged wine tasting event. They had music, cheese and the most delicious Cabs. I would highly recommend this winery. Also, they raised over 2 million for Parkinson’s research. Al B. owner was a Napa Pioneer and one of the first Vineyards following prohibition.

Diamond Creek is one of those special places in the valley that you are amazed when you see it. Napa Valley has so many great places to visit, but occassionally one pops up out of nowhere and you wonder how you never realized it was there. Such is Diamond Creek … a beautiful, secluded vineyard not that far off of Highway 29 but in spirit a thousand miles away from the normal bustle of the valley. Our tour and tasting by Cidy was personal, enjoyable … and most importantly: tasty. Their Cabernet wines in the Bordeaux style truly stand out as excellent. On top of the great wine, its impossible to separate the wine from the property. It has a feel that is part Napa Valley, Rock City and summertime at the lakes in northern Michigan. It all comes together for a truly unique and superb experience.

I guess I’m one of the lucky few who discovered Diamond Creek over 20 years ago. I remember buying it at $ 30 a bottle and thinking it was expensive. It’s a very small winery that makes extraordinary wines. I realize this could be a potential turn-off to some people in this age of über-bend-over-backwards customer service but Diamond Creek makes, IMHO the best Cabernet in the world. This is a wine that has an aftertaste that can linger for almost an hour! Their wines are big, fruity, tannic and will stain your teeth. They are wines that are meant for special occasions — then again, opening a proerly aged Diamond Creek IS a special occasion! If you can go on the tour and picnic, do so! If you have a bottle of Diamond Creek and are willing to share, you’ll find yourself with others doing the same and you’ll gain some new friends as well as taste some fantastic wines!

The people here on the«special» open days are really very nice. The lake and grounds are beautiful and it is fantastic to have free access to the grounds with only a small group of people. However: the pours for the tasting were tiny and the wines really didn’t do it for me. I suppose I should give it more stars and a better review because it was free and really a lovely day for me– but I also realize the trick here: treat people to an amazing(free) day at the lake and you will guilt them into buying some very expensive bottles of wine. ;-)

I absolutely loved everything about my day at Diamond Creek. Nothing could have made it more perfect. I actually forgot that I live in the city and had to go to work the next day. The lake is beautiful and there are gorgeous waterfalls all around. We went to a small jazz concert right in the middle of the vineyard. Just amazing.

Diamond Creek is perhaps the coolest vineyard in the entire Napa-Sonoma region. Closed most of the year, it is open to the public just 4 days a year, and even then, by invitation only. Once inside, you will discover the miracle that is Diamond Creek. Built from the ground up by owner Al Brounstein, the Vineyard is exquisitely sculpted, including a manmade lake, 11 manmade waterfalls, and a magnificent swimming pool. The afternoon includes a tour, a wine tasting, a raffle(for three bottles of wine), and a jazz concert by the pool. We brought a picnic lunch The wines are $ 175, which is a lot of money to pay for a bottle of wine, but these wines are truly superb. Diamond Creek contains several distinct«microclimates», enabling it to produce three or four different wines from the same grapes. I aspire to own some one day. Fortunately, the tasting is free. If you have the opportunity, I would definitely recommend a visit.
