Went here with my wife for our 10th wedding anniversary. Stayed in the V. Sattui artist cottage. Nice quiet room, bottle of wine, and very relaxing. The three cottages are to the west of the parking lot. Nice not sharing a wall, ceiling, or floor with anyone.

We spent our wedding night here and will never forget how magical, special, and amazing the staff made us feel on our big day! They were extremely professional and even upgraded us to a Cottage room.(We got married on a weekday, which may have helped. Still, they didn’t have to do that, but did!) There was even a power outage on our wedding night, but the staff was reassuring and knew what was happening. We will be back here again next year for our anniversary — this place is as good as it gets!

Really nice and clean. Friendly & accommodating staff. Well… Except for Alma, who seems very irritated and gives out inaccurate information. The building seems a bit old and the floor squeaks when people are walking past your room. Continental breakfast isn’t good but Café Sarafornia is a few doors down with amazing breakfast. The parking lot is on the side of the building in an alley which fills up pretty quick. Mud Bath & Massage was the best part of our stay. Despite being given the wrong time for our session and having to get separate massages when I booked couples massage and getting my massage in one room and hearing another couples conversation and the jacuzzi coming from the room next door.

Quaint tiny place. Rooms are nice but ridiculously small. Bathrooms NEEDHELP… no heat, no air or fan of any kind, horrible lighting, no make up mirror, 1 outlet & barely a spot to put toiletries! Gorgeous area but the comforts are missing. Relaxing cause their isn’t much to offer but a bed.

We booked our reservations through Hotels Tonight. The room was very small and our window view was the HVAC system. Typically when you book a discounted room, you will not be given the best available room, I understand, however for even the price we paid($ 200), I had higher expectations. There was dust on the walls, not just a cobweb, but the whole wall over the bed had dust on it. In searching for a plug for my phone, I discovered more dust and items left behind from past tenants that had clearly gone unnoticed for quite some time by the amount of dust found. A deep cleaning is needed for this place.

My girlfriends and I were here this past weekend for one of our best friend’s bachelorette party. There were six of us so we paired up and stayed in three different rooms. My weekend bed buddy and I were in the Joseph Cellars Cottage, 101. To my surprise, it was small and cozy. I didn’t book this hotel so I didn’t know what we were getting or even where we were staying prior to arrival. I was expecting a larger room since we paid almost $ 500 a night to stay here. However, the room was nicely decorated and I liked the attention to detail for everything. The bathroom was too small for my liking and the tiles were royal blue and white squares. It didn’t match with the rest of the room. All of the cottage bathrooms were the same color patterns. My friends stayed at 102 and it was exactly the same. My favorite part about the room was the little art corner. I thought that was a really cute idea. I like to paint and draw so it gave me something to do. However, the paint was water color paint and did not paint very well. I tried to paint something for the bride to give her to keep as a memory of the weekend, but the cheap paint didn’t allow me to create my vision on that canvas. I would recommend better paint since water paint didn’t stick too well on the canvas. The staff members were nice and welcoming. They always smiled and greeted us. The breakfast wasn’t too great for such a nice hotel but it filled us up. The espresso machine in the room was really useful. We used that multiple times throughout the weekend. I posted pictures of the room below.

I hope that for patrons staying in a normal room that they are getting their moneys worth but for us, we stayed in a cottage for more money than I’ve spent on a Four Seasons and it was certainly not up to that caliber of excellence. The towels are small, the jacuzzi outside is a bathtub, they didn’t even paint the flower pots all the way around. The blinds on the windows just open to the street and passerby’s can look in. There is an easel and paint, but the paint is cheap children’s water color. The staff is very nice, had a nice time interacting with them(although the kid at the front desk didn’t know what Schramsberg Winery was which seems surprising to me as its 8 minutes away.) Over all, if you are getting a great deal, perhaps this is a place to go. Dont over spend on it.

Wow! That’s all I can say about Mount View Hotel and Spa! From the moment my boyfriend and I stepped into the doors until the time we left everything was wonderful! They definitely have the best customer service around! The girls that were at the front desk were so nice. We arrived early(like at 1130am) and they told us we could use the pool and the facilities until our spa appointment. They were going to try and get our room ready asap as well. Right before our appointment they told us our room was ready and that they would put our luggage in the room. After our treatment we went upstairs and walked into the room and they had given us a bottle of champagne and chocolates and a note congratulating us on our anniversary. The bed was so comfortable with lots of pillows.(We got the King Guestroom and it was perfect size of room) The bathroom was so clean and so cute! The rooms come with a DVD player and cable in the room as well.(The rooms also comes with white robe you can wear around as well) The hotel grounds are maintained and the spa was very good too! We got the couples bath and massage it was by the the best I have had! We can’t wait to go back and stay in the private cottages they have there too! We are definitely making this one of our go to places around Napa valley! You won’t be disappointed!

Lovely hotel! The staff is top notch! They will bend over backwards for you. The free continental breakfast is ok. It consists of coffee, OJ, crackers, hard boiled eggs, Chobani yogurt and a banana. The rooms are very small. If you’re not going to spend alot of time in the room-its fine. But for $ 300 a night, I expected a larger room. Overall, a nice place and its right in the middle of everything.

Two words: Customer. Service. My wife and I booked a room at the Mount View for the weekend while we were visiting Calistoga for a wedding. We are seasoned travelers and enjoying staying at high-end hotels for a number of reasons. First, they are usually newer and cleaner than your average hotels and second, the customer service that usually correlates to the room-rate. Upon arrival, we noticed that the MVHS was definitely an older building that had been recently renovated. While the lobby décor was nice there is only so much you can do with a space before you need to tear down and re-build. I am not suggesting that the MVHS needs to do that by any means. However, within seconds of entering the lobby we were greeted by their AMAZING staff. Everyone at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful, but one person went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. Yes, Matthew, I am talking about you. We arrived before our room was ready so we had some time to kill. Naturally we were interested in checking out some wineries. Matthew immediately gave us our Calistoga shuttle passes and a couple suggestions about where to taste. After we decided on a winery, Matthew insisted that HE would call the shuttle service for us. Seems like a small gesture, but it did not go unnoticed. He spent the next 10 minutes dialing and redialing until he got someone on the phone and arranged our shuttle. His effort and persistence continued throughout our stay. When we got back from our tasting it was time to check into our room. We were out in one of the newly renovated rooms by the pool. When we got into our room it was very cold. My wife loves the heat so anything under 75 is uncomfortable for her. Happy wife happy life. I noticed that the window didn’t quite shut all the way and there was a half-inch gap on each side that allowed cold air to pour in. I also noticed that a couple of bugs flew in to the room from the same gap. Not an ideal start to our stay… I called the front desk to alert them to the issue and was met with EXCELLENT customer service once again. They assure me they would be to my room right away to address the issues. While we were waiting I tried to turn on the heaters so that my wife would be more comfortable. Unfortunately, only one of the heaters turned-on and was not blowing hot air consistently. When the clerk and maintenance man arrived I told them about the heater issue as well and inquired about switching rooms. The clerk apologized profusely about the issues in the room and informed us that there were no other rooms available because they were fully booked. She also explained that the newly installed HVAC unit had not been networked yet. I was starting to feel pretty bummed… But then the maintenance guy was able to get the window to close completely by manipulating the window track with his pliers. He also fixed the one working heater. The clerk again apologized that there were no rooms available and offered us a full refund and to locate and book another room for us at a different hotel. With the window now closed and hot air blowing we decided to stay ONLYBECAUSEOFTHESTAFF. The desk clerk also booked and confirmed our dinner reservations within minutes of leaving our room. However, the service got EVEN better. Fast forward to Saturday. As we were getting ready for the wedding we realized that I forgot to pack my wife’s curling iron. This would have been no-big-deal if we were staying in a major city like LA-SF-LV-NYC but resources are a bit more limited in Calistoga. On a whim, I called the front desk to inquire and Matthew answered the phone. He quickly let me know that they did not have one on-site but he would call me back. Instead of waiting around, I quickly got dressed and ran over to the market next to our hotel. They did not have a curling iron but they did have information. They suggested that I check out the pharmacy or Ace hardware. As I am hustling to Ace hardware my wife calls and tells me that Matthew has located curling irons, told her the price and offered to pick one up and bring it to our room. I never expected this from the MVHS. Did I mention that we had to be ready and catch a shuttle to the wedding in 30 minutes… as I am on the phone and crossing the street to ACE I actually spot Matthew crossing the street to Ace as well. He sees me and tells me to follow him because he can show me exactly where they are in the store to save me time. He also let me know that he checked the pharmacy and that ace has a better selection and pricing. Matthew is a life-saver. My wife was happy. She looked absolutely gorgeous and we were able to catch the shuttle to the wedding. I apologize for the long-winded review but they staff deserves it. I highly recommend staying at this hotel because of the staff. The customer service far exceeds any expectations given the price point. Matthew– thank you again for all of your help and for going the extra-mile!

I have to say, this purchase from an Amazon voucher was absolutely worth every penny! This was our first time visiting the Napa/Calistoga area, and I think it’s safe to say we will return. We enjoyed our room and the amenities offered. Our voucher(from Amazon) included a couples mineral bath at the spa. Which was a wonderful way to spend 45 minutes after a day hike in Napa Valley State Park! The staff here at the hotel(and the spa) have been pleasant and friendly. This boutique hotel was EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be!!!

From start to finish, this is a fabulous hotel and spa. My boyfriend and I stayed for three nights in a king winery suite and the room was impeccable. The room: lovely sitting area, two TVs, dvd player, iPod dock, espresso machine, and the bed was really comfortable. It’s great having a real closet to hang and store our belongings. The chaises were so comfortable I almost wanted to try to buy them! The bottle of wine and daily breakfast delivered to the room was a very nice touch(coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit, and pastries from Sweetie Pie’s). The service: top notch, really. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay as great as possible. Recommendations for wineries, fun activities and sights, and restaurant suggestions(so much so that Matthew even looked up their menu for us and even called to make sure we would be able to get a table!). They helped us choose and schedule our spa treatments as well. The spa: incredible. We got a couples mud bath and massage. Very clean and professional and the dry sauna was a nice addition. Overall, a great place to stay or to just visit the spa with a great location right in downtown. A perfect vacation, I will absolutely be coming back.

My boyfriend & myself came here for a mud bath and couples message… First let me start off by saying this the owner if in fact she actually is the owner was rude beyond disbelief!!! If you can’t deal with different races you may not need to be in a business dealing with the public!!! We paid for a mud bath that we did not receive cause we were about 10 minutes late and then sat around for about 20 minutes to get the massage, now the massage was great but $ 300 for a massage and horrible service from not one but two people is ridiculous!!! I will NEVER return or recommend this place to anyone EVER!!!

From the moment we checked in, our stay here was fantastic. Matthew at the front desk was super friendly & very accommodating. He even stood in one of the hotel parking spots while I moved my card rom the street, so I wouldn’t loose it the spot. The room was very cozy. The bed, super comfortable. We were greeted at 7:30am(our choice) with a continental breakfast tray. Coffee, juice, fruit & pastry. We stayed over Presidents’ Day weekend & slept soundly through the night. No noise, very peaceful. I highly recommend this place to whoever is looking for either business or a pleasure getaway. The hot tub & pool are at a perfect temperature. Robes that were provided were perfect. Thanks Matthew, we will definitely be back! A+.

We were scheduled to stay in Napa, but after the earthquake, we had to change plans at the last minute. Mount View appealed to us because of its Historic Register status and our love for old places. We chose to upgrade to one of their winery suites, which was perfect for celebrating our anniversary. The hotel had a bottle of wine and small box of Ghirardelli chocolates along with a card waiting for us when we checked in, which was a very nice touch. The room had a sitting area, sleeping area, huge bathroom with a walk-in shower and an additional room with a claw foot soaking tub. The bed was quite comfortable, and we were both surprised at how quiet this place was. Admittedly we were there during the week, but we never heard a single soul during our 3-day stay. The pool was one of the advantages of this hotel since we happened to be there during a 100+ degree heatwave. We spent our afternoons lounging by the pool and had it to ourselves. There is complimentary water and a mineral spring-fed hot tub to relax your tired bones. The staff was young, but amazingly attentive. Matthew, the Concierge, was particularly helpful, both in carrying our luggage up the stairs(there is no elevator!), and in recommending wineries and restaurants in the area. All in all we had a wonderful stay at Mount View and we’d definitely go back again.

Mount View definitely had some great aspects. It is located within walking distance of some great restaurants and bars and is a quick trip from the vineyards. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean, and the continental breakfast delivered to your room was a nice touch. The pool area was large and open 24⁄7 with a decent sized hot tub. The rooms were a little on the small side and the building is definitely older. The views leaves much to be desired(we had a view of a lot with junk in it).

A shiny new badge for 2014! I’ll start off to say initially this trip was not going to happen, due to my stubborn self wanting to start a fight and acting childish. However, I am glad I changed my mind and end up here at Mount View Hotel & Spa. After a full day of wine tasting and touring. We got to our hotel during the late afternoon to settle in. The room was impeccably clean, quite large bed with wonderful pillows, large TV, and clean bathrooms. The room was well maintained. The spa experience was simply incredible; friendly staff, excellent massage therapist, and lovely bathrobe to wear in the sauna room. The spa was clean and so well run. We returned to our room like a true wet noodle. Thank you Mount View Hotel & Spa for a fabulous relaxing getaway. This makes me long for more get-aways!

Have you read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day? I haven’t read it but last week I thought I’d be able to write the sequel. And interestingly, like a Russian nested doll, my earlier plan to go to Calistoga before pretty much everything in my life took a Wrong Turn factored into the slippery slope of upset and sadness. Yes. When I phoned to cancel the intended Saturday stay I was informed that since I had made said reservation only a few days before and was already within the seven-day cancellation window I was hosed. Useful tip number one — make a note of said window. So I hung up from that call saddened and eyeing sharp objects wondering the patterns they’d make then just on a whim I called them back to see if they could move me a day from Saturday to Sunday instead of actually cancelling. And they did. Faint refrain of angels in the background. So we went yesterday and I write with gladness and a sincere debt of gratitude in my heart because I swear but for last night and all it offered I’d something I don’t want to write it here. Useful tip number two — if you can go to Calistoga on a Sunday night do go then because it’s so much more peaceful that way. Useful tip number three — stay here. You pretty much knew this was where I was headed reviewing the hotel and slapping down all them red stars right from the get-g so here we are now, at the inevitable. I’m not kidding you. Every single aspect of our stay was divine. From Matt the first who moved the reservation, to Matt the second who checked us in, to the room itself and the fluffyperfect bed and TV for Abby, it was clean and quiet and the tile in the bathroom was lovely. The coffee service this morning was just as offered and perfection with pastries and fruit juices coffee and tea delivered to our door. The spa literally saved my life and got me to stop crying then start again because it was beautiful. I could go on and on but I think I’ve already left you with enough to influence your northern wine country lodging decision-making process. Abby Stone I owe you another debt of gratitude for steering us here. It really really really was lovely. Mount View Inn & Spa — you’ve not seen the last of me. Thank you for making everything as good as it possibly could be.
