A little pricey for what they serve, it’s a glorified pizzeria. But for Callicoon has decent food. Service is usually a little better than average. If you go, get their special for the night. Never a disappointment.

I’ve seen this place change from when it was the small spot next door to this Italian family restaurant. I liked it better when it was smaller, and seemed to cater more to what Callicoon is. Callicoon is a depressed small town in Sullivan County, and the entire town of Callicoon consists of 3 streets(Main St., Upper Main St., and Dorrer St.). To think that you have to sit down and get wait service to get a slice a pizza is ludicrous. What is a fair tip on a $ 3.00 slice? Why do I have to leave a tip for a slice of pizza?! I don’t like the layout of the new place. The empty bar up front, with the ovens on the other side force you to the back of the restaurant where you have to get wait service. It makes me long for the dollar slice spots in Manhattan(2 slices and a soda for $ 2.75 out the door!) At Peppino’s, bring $ 10 for one person. You MIGHT get some change. I’ve had pizza and wings from this place. Both were about 7 out of 10. I’m not blown away by it. I miss how it used to be.

Great pizza! Order a meatball pie and plain. When I got home opened the box to find a little bit of a disappointment. No meatball it was pepporinoi. But it was still great pizza!

Fantastic little Italian joint in the main part of town. They had a great atmosphere and food was superb. I was staying at the Villa Roma Resort and got a large supreme pizza so that I could have leftovers — and boy was the pizza huge! I had leftovers all week!

Really enjoyed Peppinos! First time in the area. Prices are reasonable. Food is good. Portions are huge! Largest panini we have ever seen! Staff friendly. Nice décor. We will be back for dinner as we stopped by for lunch.

Hey, what can I say — when we get tired of the food at Villa Roma — we go here! The sauce(gravy for those who grew up in the city) is fantastic as is the food. Service is slow and typical for upstate — we would not dare sit out back which is beautiful outside dining overlooking the Delaware river as it would take that much longer for the staff to reach us. Only reason I stated it was not good for groups is that is will take so long for staff and service that you will be frustrated and disappointed —- This all has to do with management training staff to be more aggressive when it comes to out of towners from NY Metro area used to best service — I am sure the locals find the service to be acceptable

When we walked in we wanted to put our teens inside and the adults outside. Then they seated us. Then five minutes later the little asses refused to serve us saying«We can’t do that because they don’t feel comfortable seating Two fifteen year olds and one 13 year old together without supervision. Also, these arrogant little pricks said that we could do that when we made the reservation. We then just left and went to Matthews on Main about 3 buildings down and they had no problem doing it. And while on the topic of Matthews. They are much better and have a more diverse menu. Not the corner«Shit Shack» that pepeionos is.

Great pizza and wonderful place to meet family and friends. Only thing is the new hostess needs to loosen up a bit. Meeting her first puts an evening on edge.

Sorry for the delay. The food here is Spectacular ! Just moved to the area and have already made this our Go To place. I believe I mentioned earlier the Veal Is simply Stewart! Service is Great and prices moderate. Some say it’s a bit noisy, but it’s all not a problem. Hey, it’s a family place, you will love it. Pizza is top shelf too, almost forgot that.

This is a good red sauce Italian type place with a full bar. The portions are very large, hot and a lot, comes to mind. I have had the meatball hero and it was delicious. If you are going to try the eggplant parm hero ask for sauce on the side you will need it.

What a delight. Stopped in for chicken but they had veal saltiboca over spinach as a special. Fantastic!!! Great place. Service was awesome. What more can you ask for. Food is so good reminds me of little Italy years ago.

this place makes the best fresh Stromboli ring I have ever had .! The chef came out from the kitchen when I was questioning the swordfish dish. His name was Mike .from Brooklyn of course.(lol). tried the dish it was very good… The Stella was fresh on tap. you needed a wheel barrel to get me out of there… once again that ring was delicious. thanks Mike.

Pizza and calamari for appetizer, wonderful. Mussels marinara very good sauce, great mussels. Pesto pasta and pasta with brocolli and garlic were very good. Only downside was, we asked for al dente and all the pasta both penne and angel hair and linguini were soft. We will be going back. Pizza was very good.

This place is too SHADY for me. We went to Peppino’s for lunch and one of the items we ordered was $ 3.00 on the menu, but when we got our check, the same item was $ 4.25. We questioned the difference assuming the waitress just made a mistake, but, nope, we were told there was small print on the menu that read«PRICESSUBJECTTOCHANGE» Wow! Really? Within an hour– the price changed? The staff was not concerned in the least that we weren’t happy with the way they handled this. Why would the wait staff not tell the patrons about the price changes upfront? Trust me, it’s not about the $ 1.25, it’s the principle of Peppino’s being dishonest with their customers. Very sad and shame on them. (oh, and fake cheese out of a can on sandwiches??) EW!

Peppino’s is about 2 hours from NYC but you wouldn’t know it — their pizza is excellent. Perfect crust, nice sauce, great toppings. Standard Italian entrees are also very good… large portions. Rather extensive(and very affordable) wine list for the area and bartender is knowledgeable about each bottle. Service is always friendly and efficient, even on busy Friday and Saturday nights. Peppino’s is a neighborhood Italian-American family restaurant as it should be.

The best place for Italian food hands down. We go every weekend during the summer, and my family talks about it all the other days of the week. Excellent service, the staff is about a friendly as friendly could be, and although the seating area is small, they are moving next door to a larger facility. I give this place a huge thumbs up, excellent in every way. Catskilljohn

Very decent. I come here to work once in awhile at the job corps and with only a few food choices the place is pretty good.

Best Italian food in the area! When we want pizza or italian food this is the place we go. We have never had a bad meal here and we probably eat in or take out at least once a week.

Not JUST a pizza place. The pie’s are really good. The sandwiches are good also. They give you a good amount of product on the bread. I personally love the fried calamari. It’s small, so it’s mostly a takeout but the booths and tables can accommodate a few people and the staff is VERY accommodating. Prices are very good for what you get. Went there again tonight and had pasta. The portion looked okay, but there was so much left that we took the rest home for dinner tomorrow. Check out the entire menu. The place was packed tonight, Thursday, and everything we ordered was fantastic. The only thing I would add is that I just noticed it was rated $$ TWODOLLAR Signs. Absolutely not true. Most things on the menu are inexpensive although not done cheaply. Real Food for a Real Value.
