Amazing Fantasy Books and Comics

I had never stepped foot into a comic shop til about 5 years ago… now out of all the ones that I’ve been into (and 2 comic conventions) AF is my favorite! Friendly staff and friendly customers that will join into a conversation about anything under the sun!

Amazing indeed! Though it’s not in a place where tads and hipsters may find soothing to their immature souls — this place is can’t miss. I grew up with most of the fellas in the store & come back every chance I get.
These are the sort of wise denizens of the fantasy world you want the help of as you immerse yourself in these sorts of worlds you’re drawn to.

When I first started reading comic books about four years ago, I went to Amazing Fantasy. I didn’t know any better about location, that there were closer ones to me, but I went to A-​F for about six months. My experiences were rarely if ever positive.
They always had what I wanted, which were the new issues of the Star Wars comic books. They also always had comic book geek snobbery, with the cashier usually rolling his eyes at me for buying Star Wars comic books. They were pretty rude in general, though I can’t say this for everyone there was I do recall a single pleasant employee among the bunch, the place leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Elitist attitude is a problem that plagues most comic book stores, record stores, et cetera, and when I was a regular, they had it in spades.
Their selection is impressive, at least. Good amount of trades, back issues, and figures, but I don’t think any good selection makes up for snobbery.

Excellent people to work with, if they don’t have it, they’ll search the ends of the earth to find it. I like the fact that there’s no comic book store attitude with these guys, good people to talk books, movies, music, heck, just about anything. I’ve had a subscription here for awhile, and I can count on good recommendation from them also, they know their customers. Their indie section is really good too, I’ve been turned onto a lot of good selections through it. It looks like a comic book shop also, nice selection of older issues and t-​shirts and stuff like that. Don’t miss out on this place.

An Amazing comic book shop! It has everything you are looking for, if you need something specific they can oder it for you. Great atmosphere, great staff and you never know what kind of deal you can find. It’s been one of my all time favorite places since I first visited in 2003. ^_^

This is my favorite comic book store in the greater Chicagoland area. They always have what I’m looking for. Even if it’s a lesser known comic they still always get it in. They also have a good selection of action figures as well. And a large selection of trade paper backs and back issues. And the staff there are the friendliest around. And if they don’t have what you’re looking for they’ll call other locations of the store and see if they can get it in for you. The only downside if that they don’t really have a selection of statues. But other than that they have everything you could possibly want!
