Kiddie Kuts River Oaks is worth the drive from Bronzeville(past the Kiddie Kuts in Hyde Park. They are clean, professional, and my daughter looks like a million bucks when she gets her hair styled there. I love the fact that they don’t over process or heat her hair. I also like the amount of time they allot for pickup when they call you and say the service is almost complete. The discounts make it possible for me to patronize them, especially after the recent price increase.

I first started taking my daughter there when she was about three. The stylist did an amazing job and my little girl was always excited to go back. We were regular customers for the next two years. I don’t know what’s been going on there lately, but my daughter started to cry every time I told her we were going. I also noticed that the staff was nowhere near as friendly as they used to be and the quality and care they once put into braiding her hair was not there. One day, I took my daughter’s hair down and noticed a considerable amount of breakage. I didn’t think much of it and just asked for a deep conditioning during her next visit. When I was picking her up from her appointment, I overheard another parent complaining to the receptionist about her daughter’s hair breakage. When my daughter came out, she had the little white paper wrapped around her head. I didn’t notice until we got in the car that it was not the style I had chosen. That was pretty much it for me with Kiddie Kuts. After talking with other parents(whom I had actually referred to Kiddie Kuts in the past), I found that they had had similar experiences with their children’s hair breaking off. Not sure what happened to this place, but I doubt we will be going back there anytime soon.

I have nothing but great things to say about Kiddie Kuts! I am not sure what happened while Tamiko was there but that could be because I don’t usually wait around while my girls get their hair done. I’m not a bad mother – DONTJUDGEME! I use the time to run other errands so that makes me a great planner, multi-tasker Mom! LOL But I absolutely love the way my kids hair looks each time they leave here. They’ve gotten braids, press n styles and sometimes just blow drys. They are a bit pricey but I don’t mind paying for the convenience and security. I like the measures that they have in place to protect your children like the door that must be buzzed and the no parents in the back policy. I think its a great concept and my kids LOVE to go. A special shout out to Kristen the receptionist. Besides her having a great name, she has a super attitude. Even my husband comments on how nice and customer oriented she is. Also, in my opinion, CeCe is the best braider… but everyone in there does a great job so you wont lose either way.

Wow! I guess I won’t be coming there. I’ll be visiting the one Hyde Park. Very sad since it’s around the corner from my house.

While my daughter’s hair came out nice, the service was horrible. I witnessed some of the worst service in my life at the Kiddie Kuts in River Oaks. They stylists ALL had unprofessional attitudes and demeanors and their clothing was inappropriate. A mother complained that they were braiding her daughter’s hair too tight. Although the mother went back outside to her car to wait, I listened while they talked about the child and her mother INFRONTOFTHECHILD. I’m not sure if they knew I was in front or not but it really doesn’t matter. Additionally, a little boy came in for a haircut. The stylists began to talk about his hair, saying«did your mom cut your hair with a bowl?» And of course, that comment drew laughter from all of the other adult stylists. They were extremely rude and ghetto – yes, I did say ghetto. I don’t know where they got these stylists from but they cannot be licensed professionals. I love the concept of Kiddie Kuts but while they are giving hair makeovers, the owners needs to do a serious ATTITUDE makeover with the staff.
