Nicky’s Gyros

I love their gyros. They definitely live up to their name. Great for late night food. The parking is limited depending on what time of day you go.

They give you plenty of food. They only con is they are always crowded and the parking lot is small.

This is my go to gyro place when Im in the windy city. Its usually packed and yes its a little hood but the food is great and never disappoints. The gyro platter is the best and a great value. Always well seasoned and huge portions. I love this joint!

Gyro’s don’t get any better then this!

This place is awesome! When you get that craving for something fast and tasty, Nicky’s delivers! Well, not literally but the Gyros are finger-​licking good. Sliced thin by my request and seared on the flat top. The fries are so good and plentiful that I go there at least three times a week just for them. I walk through the door and my «husband» calls out my order. They get your order ready in no time, even when there’s a crowd. When I move away, I’ll still travel for the food. It’s top notch!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Buyer beware! I watched my boyfriend become violently ill after consuming a polish from this filthy place! I thought he was gonna die! No bs! Every time we drive past here I joke wit him about getting another polish but the fact of matter is its no joke! Eat at your own risk then pray to the lord himself you make it through the night! My boyfriend literally had to make himself throw up by sticking his finger down his throat after drinking a bottle of water to help the process. He literally throw up black sh**!!! & after he threw it up he felt so much better, like a brand new person. He said (and I quote) «it was like having a demon in his stomach!» The afterthought was pretty hilarious but during the situation def wasn’t! We were about 20min away from calling 911!

Been coning here for years. Great food, great service. When you walk in, it seems like the line is long but the guys work fast to get your food nice and hot. BTW, they give you so much fries and they taste great. I recommend their gyro and beef sandwiches.

The best gyros in Chicago. I have had them from everywhere. They have best sauce. Nice and thick. Onions cut razor thin, which is important. Cut with thick pieces. Hate the places that shave the meat with the electric shaver. The only thing missing is a chicken gyros option.

If a delicious gyro is your intended goal then let me do a little fortune telling: You are heading to Nicky’s Gyro’s. And yes, I pronounce them GUY-​ROWS, haha. I have been coming to Nicky’s for at least the past 10 years and they have consistently served up this delicious lamb on a cone to my delight.
I always get the gyro plate which consists of the gyro meat, two pitas, fries, onions, tomatoes and two cups of Tzatziki (cucumber/​gyro sauce). The meat is seasoned well and they do cook it a bit more once you order to ensure it’s deliciousness. If you like grilled onions that will def kick it up a notch and I also purchase an extra pita as they give you more than enough meet for 3 sandwiches.
If you are a Gyro aficionado then I know you are wondering two things: 1. Yes they grill the pita and 2. The gyro sauce has the consistency of softened cream cheese which is the way I like it. Not runny like salad dressing which is the way some places I’ve gone like to serve it.
If you want a fresh gyro made right with all of the fixings, Nicky’s is in your future!

Without a doubt, the BEST Gyro I have ever had! Came with a big bag o’ fries. It’s far from where I live, but worth the pitstop off the highway. Very nice owner too ! I wish they had one up where I love.

Have been coming here for years the food is to die for and the place stays clean and the guy’s are the best. Try them you want be disappointed

I stop at this place one night the food was amazing and the guys at the counter were funny. I had a gyro it was so good I told my mom and sister they needed to try this place

Delicious Gyros. They don’t skimp on anything! Fresh tomatoes and onions, perfect pita, and plenty of gyro. And they actually put enough sauce on it, unlike other places in Chicago. Can’t wait to try the beef! Got to love a place that knows what they do well.

Best Gyros in the Chicagoland area. These guys do it right; Fresh, lots of meat cut fresh for your sandwhich, great sauce and no matter of 2 or twenty orders they never mess up.
You won’t be disappointed!

I give the food 5 stars! The Gyro plate is enough for two. The food here is really good. The fries are the best in town. However, the reason four my four star review is pretty simple. There are a few dicks behind the counter. As long as these guys work here, there will never be a need for a tip jar on this counter.

Gyro plates are awesome. Be sure to get a extra pita and don’t forget your cup of cheese. The wings and Italian beefs are good as well. Pretty fast service for the amount if people that come through.

One of the best Gyro Places in Chicago Land, even when compared to the more pricier Greek places in greektown. Granted the environment isn’t the best and your not getting an authentic gyro but the food speaks for itself. Do yourself a favor if you are ever in the Calumet City Area and want something that’s cheap and fast and stop by.
