I just want to start out by saying I love this place. I came here today with my family as we were taking a little road trip. The staff is amazing. My nephew love the beef jerkey. He tried alligator, kangaroo and venison. At 9 years old I didn’t think he would enjoy it but he sure did. I bought kangaroo and camel meat I’m going to coom it up tomorrow. We look bought some duck eggs.(I never realized how big they were) I will definitely be coming back during the summer.

This place is a secret which I hope doesn’t get out. It’s a poultry farm but my wife and I have been coming here for their roast duck for years. It’s simply the best roast duck ever, hands down. They don’t make that many every day so if you want one, you need to get there early. They also have chicken but the duck is the ticket here.

Great prices on fresh local Long Island duck. It is getting harder and harder to find fresh not frozen duck and he has it all the time.

From a vegetarian looking at this establishment with a sense of awe and oh this is interesting perspective … Lol. it is quite interesting. The shop itself is quite small. They sell grass-fed beef, and the ducks and chickens are born, raised and bred in Long Island. Turkeys for Thanksgiving come from Pennsylvania, but spend half the year here. The shop’s more exotic cuts or meats like buffalo and elk come from Wyoming. I’m not sure if wild boar, camel, and/or ostrich come from west too. Not sure where the kangaroos and alligators come from. They also have other birds like squab, which I learned is in the pigeon family, pheasant, and three kinds of chickens(capons, roosters and ??-the most common one. my mind is drawing a blank). In addition to meat products, they also sell eggs– regular, jumbo and double yoke! The two guys behind the counter are really friendly. The place has been in business since 1941 or 1946. If you eat meat and are in the mood for something different or something local check out this spot.

Ah, my secret is out. If your not squemish over fresh killed farm animals, you should shop at Miloski’s Poultry Farm. It’s freshly killed, straight off the farm meats. If your idea of organic is buying meats at Whole Foods, you gotta get a grip. Back in the day, my grandfather would shop at a local fruit guy, seafood guy and a meat guy. I swear, roast beef dinners seemed huge as a kid when we would eat on Sunday. All these items weren’t purchased at Stop and Shop, they were purchased by a local sourced farm person. Enter Miloski’s Poultry Farm. These folks have some kra-zay meats, like camel?! Nah, I’ll take a pass on that one. What prompted me to make trips out here was our local Chinese food restaurant. My family likes mu shu duck. Its chinese pancakes, hoisin sauce, scallions and you put it all together. They deep fry a duck and charge huge fee. Wait a second. I know roasting a duck or chicken is the easiest thing in the world. My dad owned a supermarket when I was a kid, guess who emptied the chicken fat bin? Yours truly My son is coming home from college, I ask him what are you craving? «My» mu shu duck. Buy a duck from Miloski’s Poultry Farm Roast that sucka for about 3 hours, turning it every hour Slice thin some scallions and cucumbers Get some chinese pancakes ready and spread on some hoisin sauce Manga! That’s it folks, so easy to make and everyone is happy with my Sunday dinner. Want more bird? They also sell Capons here. A Capon is like big chicken(Rooster) that had its nads cut off. The meat is less gamier as well as plump and juicier. We live in Long Island where there are still farm stands! Support your local farm stand and try something fresh at Miloski’s Poultry Farm

To begin with, rewind to last year. On News 12 Long Island, I happened to see this place on a segment for the TV channel. Fast forward to June 1st. I was driving around the area of Calverton, NY when I saw the building, and literally hit the brakes just to see the variety of meats sold here. As it turns out, one word: AMAZING! Has everything you can imagine there from buffalo to camel to whole rabbits!!! When I came in, it was empty at first, but then a friendly man came out of a door from behind the counter, and greeted me with a warm welcome. He told me about the variety of meats sold here. Very friendly man. As for the prices of the meat, it depends on how many pounds you’re getting. Despite having to pay $ 26 for two buffalo and two camel patties, ABSOLUTELYWORTHIT!!! If you’re willing to spend some money on meat, this would be the place to go! Has meats you’ll never find anywhere else!!!

Their turkey and chicken is FARBETTER than what you’ll find in the store. Yes, it’s expensive, but totally worth it! It feels great to support a local business and eat locally-raised food. They also have an interesting selection of pierogies, exotic meats which I am hesitant to try(think camel burgers…), and many combinations of beef jerky(beef ostrich, beef alligator, etc). Bring your cash – that’s the only payment accepted. It is worth the drive from anywhere to check this place out! Very friendly owners!

By Far one of my favorite places! A gem of a find out east. The chickens and duck are fresh as can be. The owner even gives advice if asked on best way to cook them. Double yolk eggs and their pot pies are bar none the very best! Warm welcome, and a place I drive all the way from Babylon to shop. Love this place!

This is Calverton far as I know, which does reside in Suffolk County but NOT in New Suffolk. The friendly fella running the joint closes up shop around five and has some relatively exotic’ items on offer’, especially for the area. Turtle was tempting but went with a dozen double-yolks for $ 4.25 — a satisfying breakfast for sure. Easy to deduct a star since I’ve only been once, but gotta shell out the 5 in hopes that they keep on keepin’ on.

Heading out to North Fork, picnicking in the vineyards? Or willing to drive over an hour to find the freshest poultry? My family has been stopping by Miloski’s poultry farm for decades. This weekend I returned to find a nostalgic bliss that I haven’t found in years. Miloski’s fresh kill roasted duck«to go.» How it works: Call in the morning, or day before, and order your fresh roast duck. 2 – 3 hours later(or perhaps more. plan ahead!) you park in their quaint gravel parking lot and pick up your lunch/dinner. While there grab some fresh smoked kielbasa… or homemade potato salad with specks of crunchy celery, powdered in paprika! They have fresh eggs… turkey soup. pot pie. and, of course, an array of fresh poultry for sale. For the holidays be sure to reserve your bird well in advance! Back to our roast duck… Now travel out about 20 – 30 minutes to one of the many lovely North Fork vineyards. Shinn Estates and Martha Clara both have lovely picnic areas. En route be sure to drop by Love Lane in Mattituck for fresh bread and cheese. and whatever other picnic supplies you need! Prepare for a delightful picnic with the most succulent bird ever… and pay no attention to the plastic knives and forks. you will probably use your hands.
