Nacks ATA Blackbelt Academy is a great Tae Kwon Do program to get your young ones into and I have heard you can really start at any age. I started my child here because started getting to that stage where was testing the waters with me, talking back, some disrespect, and rudeness. I have been strong and strict when it comes to this stuff. The main reason I enrolled him was to build up muscle strength and confidence. Before starting we watched another company’s class for kids and it was terrible. I considered this place because the classes were cheaper not having graduations or new belts until they reach the older kids classes. BUT The teacher had no personality, was very quiet and very strict with the small kids. She seemed almost annoyed when the kids wouldn’t stand in a straight line or do something they were told. It is great to be strict, but it was no fun at all for the young kids I was watching. There was no room to sit for the parents and was just very boring to watch and we left early. We went to Mrs. Nacks class and it was so opposite. She made it fun and she is a delite to be around. My child has been attending her class for almost a year now and loves it. Yes there are times when the kids are not listening, goofing off, rolling around on the floor, talking to eachother when they shouldn’t be and she needs to get strict with them, but it is always in a way where they are learning from it. The classes are always fun, fun to watch and I just love seeing my son participate. He learns great self-esteem, awareness, discipline, respect, attitute, self defense, focus, and is also building those muscles up as they warm up and do obsticle course. I just can’t say enough about it. They get rewarded for good behavior! I think I remember Mrs. Nack saying that before teaching, she used to work with children with disabilities. I just hope if we move, I find someone as great as she is with the kids. She does many activities for the kids as well and there is always something going on. The little graduations for a new belt are worth it. It gives my child something to look forward to and work towards. And over this year he has been in it, I have a seen a great improvement in his overall personality and development.
