I have a grandfather clock with in Keininger moment from 1988. Two clock repair guys threw up their hands and told me to replace the movement. One quoted $ 600 and the other $ 900 to replace the movement. Fortunately, I found Ed Thornton. He is very knowledgeable and tenacious about repairing clocks. He told me that the Keininger Movement was top of the line and they don’t make them like that anymore. This movement lasts for decades with very little maintenance. It took him several rounds with this movement(so be patient), but in the end — he examined every detailed piece of that clock and found the problem — some bent teeth on one of the internal wheels. No one could find this solution — but Ed. He is honest, reputable and reliable. I would give him 6 stars.
