My husband and I were very hesitant about hiring a decorator for the first time but as soon as we met Melody at our consultation, we felt we were in good hands. She was a very good listener and really seemed to ‘get us’. During our project, we were kept informed and involved because she uses an interactive design board. She made the whole process super easy because she only sent us selections that she felt we would love — and she was so right on! Our end results are ones that make us now love our home and we’re proud to entertain and show off our beautiful home. We are SO glad we found a decorator who not only listened, but then followed through by providing us with beauty and comfort!

If there were more stars to give Melody would rate a ten. I have worked with designers for the last 25 years both in Miami and here in South Central Texas and she has been nothing short of phenomenal on all her projects.
The staging, colors, materials and accessories never fail to come together for the client. I can tell you from experience the best way to judge a persons work is when you are called back to do another area of a clients home or their friends and associates call you from a referral. And I have been involved in almost a dozen of these with Melody.
It’s a pleasure to work with her because she has every detail down to a science and when the finished product is unveiled I am proud to have been a part of the project.

Recently Melody helped us select new blinds for seven windows in our home. She thoughtfully chose the wall and ceiling colors for many rooms in our home. Patiently she photographed each room and even borrowed several of our throw carpets because she wanted everything to ‘fit’ color wise. Melody also recommended new paint schemes to match our existing furniture, paintings, and flooring. Her choice of a house painter was amazing and produced high quality and on-​time work. If you want your home decorated to your complete satisfaction by a very nice professional, Melody will exceed your requirements. We trusted her artistic judgment and were ecstatically satisfied. You will not be disappointed!

I can honestly say that Melody Salazar’s work is outstanding. I recently relocated from Florida to Texas because of a military move and needed help finding a way to not only spruce up my new home but also make it feel both warm and inviting. Melody and I spoke on the phone once while I was in Florida and corresponded via email the rest of the time. We actually met the day she came to put everything together. I am absolutely in love with my house. I can’t thank her enough. I’ve been showing the «before and after» pictures to everyone I know. Many of my friends, family, and associates have inquired about contacting her as they are very impressed with the results. She hit my concepts and ideas right on target and I love the results.

Last year I faced selling my parents’ home in San Marcos. I continued the listing that my father had started, having a limited conversations with the realtor. I hadn’t really ‘thought’ about the house until it had not sold. and not had many showings. for 7 months. Then, I had a conversation with a friend, and realized 1) it was sitting empty, and 2) there were two bedrooms that my Mother had expanded that were ‘unusual’ in shape. At the same time, my daughter was house hunting, and as I listened to her critique the houses she was seeing, I realized that Mom and Dad’s house needs help to let potential buyers ‘see’ it.
After seven months, I knew something needed to be done. I contacted Salazar Custom Interiors (and a couple of others…) to consider staging it. Owner Melody Salazar was ‘tenderly’ candid with me and explained that staging would not work without some renovation. The house had icky old wallpaper, needed the linoleum replaced. Etc. I didn’t particularly LIKE the message, but I had to agree with her assessment. I live in New York state, far away from San Marcos, and the idea was … daunting…
I asked Melody for an estimate, and after reviewing her project plan, I felt completely ‘safe’ in hiring her to handle the entire project, which she did with professionalism and honesty. ‘Letting go’ was the best decision I’ve made. She understood that the purpose was to SELL the house, not to spend money. She oversaw the choosing of ‘anything needed’, handled all the contractors to remove wallpaper and repaint, retile and recarpet (one of the bedrooms had a shabby purple carpet, and the rest was just. old and worn). I got regular reports, and pictures. After the renovations were complete, she continued to work her magic by beautifully staging nine rooms. You can see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures: really stunning.
While this was going on, I had people telling me that spending the money was a waste of time: I ought to just drop the price… to a LOT less than the ‘house was worth’. You know, the «how can you trust somebody that far away?» «Are you SURE you need to spend the money?» «Are you SURE you’re going to get the money out of it ???» Etc. Melody was sensitive to that need, and I was convinced that the house would see for MUCH more if it ‘showed’ properly.
We put the house back on the market at a price higher than the last listing price… and… got an offer from the very first buyer to look at the house! AT FULL PRICE!!!
I am very impressed with Melody’s work. The quality she delivers is nothing short of miraculous! I just wish she were HERE, not in Texas!!!
