Disappointing– I’ve been here twice. The first time I ordered drip coffee, which was underwhelming. I think they had two options, a medium roast and a dark roast and the cashier didn’t know anything about them. The next time I ordered a cappuccino because I figured maybe the espresso drinks were their specialty if coffee wasn’t. The cappuccino was served as a latte. Hardly any foam, not dry at all. It was a pretty latte with a clover on top, but not what I wanted. I should have brought it back but the service wasn’t very friendly. I know I’m a coffee snob but if I walk into a place that titles itself a coffeehouse I expect good coffee. I could have had something much better at Starbucks for the same price. The pastry I got was delicious though.

Great place, very good coffee. Did not try to use the wifi, which reportedly requires paying, so this drops it to 4 stars. It’s possible that the Xfinity public hotspots are available, which would be the best option rather than paying for wifi.

This is not really a comprehensive review of the entire coffee house because the only drink I have had is their apple cider. But oh the cider! I have passed by this place every week for a year on my way to church and I only recently tried it. But now I never want to drink apple cider anywhere else. I highly HIGHLY recommend their blood cider(apple cider with blood orange tea? mixed in). You can taste the traditional apple with citrus; the flavors work together so well. They also have apple cider with cinnamon and apple cider with caramel(which is also delicious, but much sweeter — you might get tired of it after a bit). They also have delicious white chocolate and cranberry scones and decent bagels. If reviews were based on food and cider only, I would give this place 5 stars. However, the seating in this establishment leaves something to be desired. 1369 seems like a great place to come for a quick breakfast or chat with a friend. The seating is pretty limited, especially during Sunday morning crowds, so you might have to wait for a few minutes to get a table. There is also the pressure to leave as soon as you are finished so others can sit. I personally would not come here to study(you have to pay for wi-fi and, as mentioned before, seating is not great), but I have seen many people with laptops and papers out. In any case, I’ll be back to try their Fogs of the World! …Or maybe I’ll just keep getting their blood cider.

Life is too short for bad coffee… Voted the best coffee in Cambridge, 1369 is one of the only coffee shops to offer the steam milk with orzatta. They make you pay for your internet so expect trying to have some old fashioned face-to-face interaction. But otherwise its a great place to study and crank in some study. Instagram: @coffeebeantown

I’m not usually one to give poor ratings, but let me just say that I was looking for a place to study and came across this coffee house, right? Ordered an Americano and went about opening my laptop and getting to work. It was then when I realized that I have to… PAY for internet? Not sure if I’ve just been spoiled, but I’ve never once had to pay for internet at a place where I’ve given my patronage. I’m pretty sure McDonalds offers free wifi in this day and age.

I decided to venture out of Downtown/Chinatown to discover new coffee shops to study. I stumbled across this place when I was in Cambridge. I decided to stop by here. The coffee shop feels a little cramped. I thought the place is rather small and did not have a lot of seating. There were also limited outlets. The wifi was also hard to access and they give you a limited amount of time to use their wifi. I understand that restricting the time to use the wifi allows a faster turnover rate so the seats can open up to new customers, but either provide the wifi or don’t provide it at all. I tried their pear and ginger scone and it was pretty good. They also have other sweet and savory pastries. I thought the prices were fair. I did not get to try their coffee so I can’t comment on that. This is a place to stop by to grab a drink/pastry and go, but it is definitely not a good place to study comfortably.

Love the 1369 espresso! Would be a cherry on the top if this location got some nice ceramic coffee cups. This is one of the reasons why I prefer the Inman sq location. The interior is nice, lots of tables, outlets, no free Wifi(unless you can use xfinity). The place fills up really quickly, it’s a popular coffee shop.

It’s like being in your friends apartment – the friend who is stuck in the 90’s, really into«Friends», and being a hipster. The coffee is good but not exceptional. They have great tea options, try the bancha green tea, green tea and popped brown rice, a delicious earthy and smooth tea. They have quality vegan bars as well. People have gotten stuck in their bathroom so there’s that. Proceed with caution. A good place to go work or meet up with friends if you can snag a table. The service ranges from polite to mean hipster who views you as an imposition.

You should take Vietnamese iced coffee off of your menu. It’s not Vietnamese iced coffee and it’s $ 5 I’ll never get back. It’s the second time I got it and it’s just as bad the second time around. Whatever your«condensed milk» it is is not condensed milk. It doesn’t mix in and just stays sat at the bottom as a gelatinous mess. Unenjoyable to say the least.

It is across from my work and I had thought of trying it for a while and finally did when I was low on time. The iced coffee I had tasted pretty awful and the price was more than Starbucks for less coffee and I was annoyed that I couldn’t pour my own milk or cream to taste. I may try it again at some point, but with Starbucks and Au Bön Pain close also, I won’t ever be making this a regular coffee stop.

Will not ever take my services here due to the poor customer service. Walked in at 6:58 and got YELLEDAT because it was not 7:00am. No excuse me we open in two minutes or sorry we’re closed until 7:00am. Then the lady proceeded to wait until 7:10 to open the doors with a smile. Unfortunately had to buy coffee across the street at 7⁄11. Sad how rude people are.

The Vietnamese coffee definitely doesn’t taste like Vietnamese coffee, and wifi isn’t free.

Ordered a cortado to go and the Barista was so understanding. It must have heart his heart to make my espresso to go as much as it did mine. He and I had a good laugh. The cortado was delicious. For a new comer, it was a bit confusing and the area between the register and the seating area was tight. Nonetheless, I am coming back… to stay.

Visited this neat café while looking for a decent place to get coffee. While the atmosphere was very nice, great interior and a good selection of baked goods to go with it, I found the coffee disappointing. The ice coffee was really watered down and after a couple minutes it just tasted like water. While I would come back for the ambiance of the place, I won’t come back for coffee.

Coffee-house atmosphere that feels pleasantly stuck in the mid-90s. I wish the same could be said for the prices, though, which are a bit high and aren’t really warranted by the quality of the coffee. There are similarly cozy spots all over Cambridge and Somerville that offer made-to-order coffee with fun, small-batch techniques, and at comparable prices; 1369’s large-vat coffee tends to be bitter, weak, and generally less satisfying in comparison. The iced coffee especially tastes watery. Furthermore, service is hit-or-miss in terms of speed and approachability, the line is almost always long and moves achingly slowly, seating is limited(and perhaps a little too grungy), and the food options are meh.(I’m fairly sure I got food poisoning once after eating a tuna sandwich here; I should have known better than to order a sandwich that was sitting out at room temperature, but, alas.) The most minor of minor gripes: Their customer loyalty punch card is redeemable, upon completion, for a measly two dollars off! i.e., get 10 punches, and get two dollars off the next purchase. I do give 1369 credit, though, for maintaining a slice of earnest neighborhood vibes that are harder and harder to come by in Cambridge. A perfectly nice option for a cup of coffee in Central Square from something other than Starbucks or Au Bön Pain, but not necessarily worth seeking out. To get high-quality, non-chain coffee in Cambridge, you really have to get off Mass Ave.

Highly one of my go to’s, and favorite spot. Both locations, between here and Inman Sq. are prime. My favorites here are the breakfast sandwiches and the croissants. Also to mention the gorgeously crafted Vietnamese coffee. The downside is the 45mins/hr of online free time but nevertheless, it’s a go to for the creative, politicians, meet ups, and just the spot for getting focused. You will not be disappointed for the time you put in here.

Stopped in here on my way to an appointment on a rainy day a few weeks back. I was going to get a coffee, but decided to get a hot cider instead. When I walked in, the line was long(on a Monday mid-afternoon!) So I waited in line, and looked around. A small and quaint coffee shop, with friends and people having a place to go and hang out, and enjoy some good food and coffee. My hot cider was almost $ 4.00 for a small, which was a bit much. I was expecting a delicious and creamy cider, but it was bitter and lack luster. It was a let down for one of my favorite cold weather drinks. Maybe their coffee is better, but their cider is just ok.

Had a minor issue with a new girl behind the counter interrogating me to determine if I was worthy to be granted the bathroom keycode. «Have I purchased anything?» Hell yeah, you’re at the top of my list of discretionary spending payees! I received a prompt apology after posting my annoyance to Unilocal. For someone with a sense of humor this probably would have been laughed off. To someone like me with a hair trigger response on the whine blaster it was time for battle. Thank you 1369 for your professionalism, defusing my volcanic reaction, allowing us to remain on good terms and remaining true season after season.

While there are plenty of other shops to grab a coffee on the go in area of 1369, the coffee here, when served black and hot, is quite delicious. On the weekends, studiers on laptops, friends meeting for a drink, children and old souls alike are so packed inside the crammed space that it can turn into an all-out war when trying to snag a table. Come here for a caffeine fix on the go. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options if you’re into that. I personally think it’s gross that they leave readymade sandwiches sitting in the window like they do, with the contents wasting away in room temperature, so I wouldn’t ever order one. There are board games in the back and overpriced art on the walls to entertain you while you wait a while in line and then for your order to be made.

I’ve been to this 1369 Coffee House location once for a coffee to go, but I liked it. The small black coffee I had was delicious. This location is always busy every weekday morning, so I assume others like it as well. I haven’t tried their food yet, but it looks good. Also, my barista was super cute.
