Sure, it’s pricey, but I got a wrap and it was absolutely massive, and fresh too. Tomato feta soup was really delicious. And I had a wonderful experience with the service — everyone was really nice and helpful. I’ll go back for sure!

Appalling service! While I was standing in line to order my salad, the people who prepare salads ignored my order twice to serve people they probably already knew. However, maybe they saw them better behind the counter cause they were tall men and I am just small pregnant woman. When I addressed my concerns, they laughed. Not sure what disgusted me more: preference to serve guy friends, or finding it funny that somebody actually called them out on it? Show some respect, people, or get the job where you don’t have to face customers!

I really liked my lunch today — an asian salad, made to order. Yes, I wouldn’t mind a touch more chicken, but the portion was enough for lunch and a snack later in the day — I might pay for extra chicken next time.

All of my prior writeup still applies to the quinoa bowls and consistently fresh produce, even in the dead of winter. But after a year and a half across the street, I understand what everyone else means now about consistency/quality of things that are _not_the quinoa bowls. Things that would make you better: 1) I love that you are sensitive to and list ingredients, but you would be more awesome if you stirred your soups regularly so they didn’t get burned or «clompy». 2) Please have bigger portions for the cost of your toppings(Sebastians nearby beats you here), or lower your prices! I also wish there were more veggies and less quinoa ‘filler’ in your default bowls. Also please consistently remember the eggs if they’re on the default list of ingredients… 3) You have so much potential in your vibe — your staff would be better able to serve if they were trained to give good answers on exacts and costs of the food at the stations they’re manning, though.(Or if the costs of soup sizes and smoothies vs. frozen yogurts were more clearly labeled.) I will try to keep coming by this winter to check out how you all are doing/if you can improve — it would be a shame to lose out on such a convenient source of fresh-cut produce and ingredients. Good luck!

The only stand out thing is the quinoa bowls, which are quite substantial for a lunch in Kendall. The toppings aren’t super exceptional, but it’s warm, tasty, and filling. It costs 8.51 $(inc tax). Although MIT students are supposed to get a 10% discount, it’s a tossup if the discount actually gets applied at the register — approximately half the time, I end up being charged the full amount even after showing my ID. In turn, this makes me not want to go here, because I hate being overcharged.

Like a lot of other posters, the food here is fine — there aren’t many places to get a fresh salad in Kendall Square, so this will have to do – but there are too many other components that bring it down. This post specifically refers to the salads; I haven’t tried their quinoa bowls or sandwiches. 1) The staff at the salad line throw every single metal bowl onto the ground after they finish each salad. When 5 people are on the line at a time making salads, that’s a LOT of noise, and I almost always leave with a headache. Not to mention, the staff doesn’t seem happy at. all. It’s a pretty unpleasant ordering experience. 2) I get that it’s Cambridge and everything is expensive, but I’m over spending $ 10+ on a salad that’s just par for the course as far as salads go. Too pricey to warrant frequent visits. 3) Maybe it’s just me, but I hate the Chinese carton-like packaging. Unlike Sweetgreen, Cosi, and other salad places that serve their salads in a flat, round bowl, B&S uses these deep cartons that feel like an excavation when I’m trying to go in for more. On the plus side, you get a lot of food, but I usually end up hitting a whole chunk of one ingredient at some point several strata below the top of the box. I wish there was a better option for freshly made salads around here(Sweetgreen, PLEASE come to Cambridge!), but in the mean time, I hope B&S sees some of these comments shared by other posters and makes a few changes to their salad system. At the very least, please for the love of god put your bowls somewhere other than the floor.

The food is good(probably some of the best lunch take-out in the area, considering the other options), but this place is a hot mess. My colleagues and I go there for lunch fairly often as it’s the only fresh salad place in the area, so our grievances have really grown and we may actually stop going soon since it’s always a frustrating experience: — the staff is rude & miserable. There 1 guy in the salad line who is actually friendly, but everyone else acts like any request you have is a nuisance. — they«chop» your salads before putting dressing on as most of their toppings are large(all types of meat, cucumbers, grapes etc), but it’s not effective whatsoever so you’re left with massive chunks in your salad. Either cut up all your toppings to be smaller or spend more than 5 seconds with the chopper! So simple! — Their toppings are expensive and you barely get anything. For example, they charge $ 1.25 for avocado, and more often than not you get one measly 2 cm slice. Sweetgreen, on the other hand, charges $ 1.50 for HALF an avocado… — the way they throw the metal salad bowls on top of each other after every. single. salad. is migraine inducing. — paying with LevelUp is the most difficult task at Bailey & Sage. EVERY other business that uses LevelUp has those small boxes you put your phone in front of that work great. B&S, however, has non-levelup compatible tablets that work ~40% of the time. WHY? Once again — food is pretty good, but the experience is not. Be careful for extra toppings as your salad or sandwich could easily be $ 12+. I wouldn’t recommend this place more than 1x a week unless you have the patience of a saint!

Went there for my first time ever yesterday. I had a personal variation of their chopped salad. I used honey lime dressing and ordered it with fresh shrimp. Honestly one of the best salads I’ve ever had. Will be going back often. The staff was wicked friendly as well

I see a lot of potential in this place, and I know it’s new, so I think if they change a couple things, it could be great. The location is perfect and enticing. You can order your salad/bowl and go eat it on top of the Kendall Square rooftop garden. Kendall Square doesn’t have very many healthy food options, so this is a very nice addition. The staff was very friendly, and I like that you can build your own salad. I ordered a salad with romaine, beets, artichokes, cucumbers, and apples, with a lime vinaigrette. I was expecting it to be amazing, especially with all the delicious toppings. Unfortunately, all I could taste was the lettuce. The toppings were very sparse; just a tiny scoop of each one of them. I maybe got 5 or 6 tiny pieces of granny smith apple in the entire salad, and could barely taste the artichokes or beets. It would be great if they gave you more toppings. The cannolis looked amazing. I had to stop myself from ordering one. Maybe next time.

This place is chaos, especially if you volunteered to order lunch for you and another. The way they set it up means you have to wait in line twice. People are just milling about waiting for their food, while you try and discern if there is a line to wait in. Anyway, she got my order wrong and it was $ 23 for two people. Food is not that special for that kind of pricing at lunch.

It’s pricey enough that I needed to have a stern conversation with myself in the mirror after lunch today about how much I spent on a sandwich, chips, a drink, and a cookie($ 19). That’s dumb and I can’t be shelling out that kind of dough on an average-tasting lunch. I’ve had the a prosciutto sandwich(too much meat), a steakhouse salad(pretty decent), the calfornia wrappini(the onions inside definitely should not have been described as caramelized) and a turkey club(good flavors). I’ve yet to try their quinoa bowls because I always seem to get sucked into a good-sounding sandwich special. But $ 19? No. I simply must give mad props for their white chocolate macadamia nut cookies though. If you are a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie aficionado like me, you will bow down to the perfection of these cookies. They often run out of them, so others like us are in on it. For the love of everything holy, get that cookie. But skip the over-priced other stuff.

Quinoa bowls are amazing, the Korean bowl is my favorite one. Salad wraps are great too! Great lunch spot.

I have just gotten a quinoa bowl here and it’s delicious! It was hectic at lunch but I thought they handled the crowd well. My only complaint about the quinoa bowl is that I wish there was more of the toppings besides quinoa in the bowl. I got the Jamaican jerk one and it could use some more fried plantains and sweet potato. The chicken in it is delicious! Will be back to try more things!

Loved the Crazy Caprese salad they have! Everything seemed really fresh and I grabbed a cookie to try also. Their chocolate chip cookies are amazing! Good service, good food, what more could you want. I’ll be back :)

When I head over to MIT, I dread when it’s time to eat. I need greens. I need simple proteins. I need something that’s not pizza/burger/fries that students subsist on. Score 1 for Bailey and Sage! They make salads with arugula! Kale! Awesome! And it’s right by campus. I’m so glad this place opened.

What I ordered — «Korean Quinoa Bowl» with quinoa, bean sprouts, carrots, sesame seeds, zucchini, scallions, fried egg, and soy sauce with spicy miso What I received — «Whatever B&S Has on Hand Bowl» with quinoa, kale, carrots, zucchini, soy sauce and miso I really like the idea of a quinoa bowl — something a bit different than a typical sandwich or salad. However, they were out of bean sprouts, fried egg, sesame seeds and didn’t tell me. They subbed in kale without asking me along with hard uncooked stems. I added chicken for $ 2.50 and received ~maybe~ a scant ¼ cup of diced chicken. $ 11.50 for something that doesn’t even close to resemble what I ordered. Flavor was OK but for the money and lack of service I’d prefer to get what I asked for. 2 stars.

I’ve only ever gone for the quinoa bowls, since that’s what makes this place different from the typical salad/sandwich joint. I’ve also only ever gone in the evening, when I’m practically the only person there, since this place obviously caters heavily towards the Kendall Square lunch crowd. The upside is that there’s no waiting in line, not that I know whether or not there’s a line normally. The downside is that they’ll often have run out of what I wanted to order. The employees are friendly, and they’ll make small talk with me, even though that’s not exactly my cup of tea. The quinoa bowls are decent, possibly what some might find bland. Yes, they’re a bit pricey, but I’m basically paying for what could feed me for 1.5 meals. With Clover and other tried-and-true places nearby, I’m not terribly motivated to try the sandwiches or to frequent this place.

I would almost give this place 5 stars! It’s just a little too expensive. My(granted, delicious and very filling) Tofu Lettuce Tomato sandwich came to over ten dollars! Who’s got that kind of money to spend on lunch? I certainly don’t — not when Clover is so close by. I also got a kale smoothie for around 8 dollars. It was 12 ounces. A delicious 12 ounces. But I basically finished it by the time I finished paying for my meal. That being said, not only are the employees funny, cool and nice, but the music in here is also killer. I brought my laptop to do some homework and in no time I was jamming to classic Beatles hits and catchy Journey tunes. Mad tunez. Made the price worth it. Will probably be back! But it’s hard to know since there are so many delicious AND cheap options in the Kendall square area!

I really try not to be mean on Unilocal, but this place is best described as «airport food.» It’s overpriced and tastes like nothing. I’ve had the Rueben panini and the signature asian salad, along with a sample of my friend’s tritone italian sandwich. There’s no flavor in anything. It’s too expensive compared to other places in the area. Adding to the«too expensive» gripe: my friend’s tritone sandwich and coke rang up to $ 15 today. He asked to see the receipt and discovered a phantom $ 2 for«extra meat.» The lady at the register insisted there must have been extra meat if that’s what the price came up as, but my friend argued that he didn’t ask for it and it wasn’t marked on the bag anywhere. Luckily, a more competent person came over and assisted our cashier, who eventually(reluctantly) returned the $ 2. So after giving B&S a few tries, I’m downgrading from three stars(«eh this place is okay-ish if you’re in the area and hungry for a specific thing») to two stars(«actively avoid unless everything else is closed»).

Just opened in Kendall Square today in the Google building … Got a cubano sandwich. It was big enough to share and was very good! The restaurant has much reclaimed wood inside(like the sustainability angle). They also look like they have nice salads, breakfast sandwiches, and frozen yogurt besides many different artisan sandwiches(or build your own). Give it a try. We’ll be back!
